Never expected it to. Meant that any platform that would have to follow all 27 countries laws. Its not like it was where something can release then Germany can hear about it and then go block it.you must be american, right?
it's the opposite: EU laws must be unanimous to pass, and then each member state must pass the same thing in their own legislation for the law to apply in THAT and only that specific state. if your specific country doesn't ratify it, the thing continues to be legal in that specific country.
so even one single country (like hungary has been) can veto decisions, and getting around that pretty much requires the other countries to push for kicking that country out. which hasn't happened even with the authoritarian hungary, so there's literally zero chance of that happening on a frivolous moralist cause like anti-porn.
Every commericial release will be scanned so its safe to assume that lenient platforms like Steam/itchio/etc are going to follow the most drastic TOS which pretty much checks all boxes.
While before it was just kind of someone reports it or its painful obvious. Actually releasing stuff by accident that is against any nations law without blocking region is likely to cause blowback.
So the possibilities of over enforcement are very high especially if a platform is labelled a Large VLOP and will be audited yearly for compliance.
I will reevaluate that. Should of said laws - not rules. Mixed words.
