God, I want to like this so much more than I actually do. It is so fucking rare to see lezdom games, and it's even focused on feet, which is very much my thing, so I want to support this project with everything I've got but I just don't like it that much. It seems unbearably incomplete for a game that's been in development for over a year now, although I appreciate the dev may have irl things going on there.
The thing about Exiled to new life (could maybe stand to be 'Exiled to a New Life' there, friendo) is that everything about it feels shoddy to play with. My first attempt at playing it ended with a softlock after I initially refused to stay at the inn, because I wanted to check if I'd started with any gold, and then couldn't request a room afterwards because the innkeeper's dialogue broke. Using a dialogue option to say no to someone should not softlock the game, and suggests a lack of playtesting on the dev's part at present.
Meanhile, most of the dialogue is serviceable but never feels good because it's missing grammar, spelling or punctuation that should be sort of... matter of course for writing dialogue, right? Typos I can understand, and I don't think I'm a complete snob, but it does contribute pretty heavily to the overall shoddy feel of the game. Because dialogue is really important in RPGmaker content, especially when the game is as linear and divorced from its JRPG roots as this one is. The maps are, again, strictly functional, with tons of dead ends and are not especially nice to look at besides.
Basically, were it not for being lesbian femdom, this is every bit the same stock RPGM porn game in terms of gameplay and design, and it feels very clunky to play. Gameplay is quite linear, and mostly of the 'walk around and talk to people to get scenes' variety.
As for the porn scenes... I want to like it so freaking bad but I don't, again, because the MC seems completely unwilling most of the time, and spends a good amount of scenes silently crying. And I see this kind of thing all the time in real person porn, too. Lesbian domination is always this kind of unwilling degradation roleplay, and I just wonder... where's the lesbian subs who actually enjoy sucking women's toes? Where are the scenes involving people who get off on the kinks on display? If it must be humiliation, what about using toys to get the sub off while they do the degrading thing, so you can taunt them about secretly enjoying it? Lezdom sucks for me, in porn and in porn games, and as much as I hate saying this about such a rare project, this is yet another example of that.
Of course, if one enjoys playing as or watching a sub who hates being dommed, and enjoy feet, then this game is right up your alley, and the scenes are reasonably well constructed, even if I didn't like them for the above reasons. And the renders are perfectly acceptable fare, for that matter.
I do very much hope the developer sticks with this project in the future though, because I would love to see more in the way of lesbian domination games, and I hope they can improve enough to make me regret penning this review in several versions' time
