VN - Ren'Py - Exiles [Halloween special] [Tim.E.Pants Games]

An engaging, witty, thoughtful game and it would be a mistake to quickly flick past the screens in a hurry to get to decision trees or the intimate parts without going thru some of the hilarious conversations that take place.

Each character seems to have their own agenda while the MC is thrust into a leadership role he's probably not ready for, but is going to try.

I don't usually give games a 5 but i will make an exception for this one.

First off i am very straight, incredibly straight and will look ghastly away at any form of homosexuality in adult VN's. However in this game it was written well and i actually enjoyed how each character feels alive. Its a rare VN where you feel like your not in control of everything happening around you and the characters around you will influence the story.

The writing is hilarious, music choices good, not perfect but generally enjoyable and perfectly timed and chosen to fit different scenes. I'm especially fond of the music that plays when Darius enters.

Drawbacks: Renders need work but to be fair i'd rather play a game with terrible renders and great story than the reverse.
Its also annoying how even though I'm playing a very straight path that gay options continuously show up.
The biggest drawback is it could possibly be abandoned. I havent seen an update in a year and that worries me.

Hopefully there will be an update soon as this is in my opinion one of the best games on this site and one to look out for

Completely different to what I expected from the lead picture.

It reminds me a bit of SpaceCorpsXXX, in Alladin/Pirate setting.

Writing is good and funny (but for my taste too much meta-humour), story is interesting if a bit over the top, MC is engaging (quite a bit stupid, moderately nice, all in all interesting), the LIs and the rest of the cast are really interesting and well written; Renders and background and "production values" are good.

Optional (and easily avoided) gay and trans contents. Once again I find that even if I am not interested in gay or trans contents, I often prefer games that have this option, as in those games we usually do not get this horribly stupid "all males other than MC are physically, intelectually, aesthetically, penilely and morally inferior to MC, no, completely inadequate, no really all child molesters / rapists / murderers"

Already quite a lot of contents, and it seems that much more is planned. Seemingly no real choices (but that would be hard to pull off given the amount of contents).

In the end not one of my absolutely top favorite, but only because I found that the silly humor and the rather grim setting of the story did not match up that well, but this is obviously a matter of taste.

This is a good game worth trying. Like the overview say this game surely will give you the vibe off 1001 Arabian nights. Loved art style.story is good filled with humor.Writing is also good

Excellent story with very catching characters, funny and light humor, if i would point an negative thing is that some choices that would fork the story ends in the same result, but there are few of them and the story is appealing so far, so it doesn't bother me

+The setting is pretty original, is kinda like a middle east setting with some roman inspirations that feels like a breath of fresh air in a sea of college students and generic high fantasy.
+The models are pretty well done and the characters look and feel unique.
+If the kind of humor this game uses clicks with you I garentee you will be laughing you ass off A LOT, this game is really funny and I ended up laughing out loud in several opportunities.
+Besides the hot female love interests there are pretty good non straight content, like cute femboys, beffy gay men, trans girls, all those kinks attached to pretty well developed characters you will love beyond the sexual scenes.
+The story is kinda epic, and has some pretty cool non sexual moments in it.
+Even if you choose not to pursue romantically some characters you will still hang out with them and befriend them so you will not miss their cool personalities.
CONS
-There are no animations as far as I remember.
-If the humor this game uses doesn't click with you you will HATE this game since it relies a lot in the comedy

Overall the game is an amazing experience, one of my favorites of all time.

Short Answer: really good game, engaging story and characters - a little spares on the sex scenes, there are several places I think they could introduce more of those - but it's still a good game even without them.

Humour: a lot of games try to be self deprecating, use humour as a cover for bad writing, and make bad attempts to get meta, but not here. I'm not sure exactly what quality it is - timing, cadence, writing, but whatever it is, Tim.E.Pants pulls it off where others haven't. For the most part, there are a few bits here than there - from memory, several lines in the royal box watching the arena - where personally the jokes don't land, and it's not funny to me. There are other parts though, like before waking up Aislinn, where I genuinely laughed out loud.All in all, I think the humour adds a great deal of charm.

Characters: There's some surprising depth to some of them, in a short amount of time. There's a lot of cliche things, the "first person to accept me" trans storyline is definitely worn ground - but no story is truly original, and I think it's done well here. Possible grain of salt needed though, because Astrid is one of my favourites here. Cliches aren't always a bad thing, if they're well executed, I think the marks been hit.

Renders: They're pretty good - not sensational, but a lot better than just servicable. In fact, I think they do a really good job of getting expressions on peoples faces right.

More on Story and Writing: Pacing is not bad, definitely kept me engaged enough to binge the entire thing, not counting repeats for all scenes yet, in one sitting. The writing is decent, falls short here and there like the humour, but there is a lot of it, and it's not just case of throwing stuff at the wall and seeing what sticks. A lot of it is genuinely well written, as I already said, definitely engaging.

The Sex: as I said before, I feel we could do with more of it. There are several points where I feel we have time for more scenes. For example, the training montage. We can tell that in the arena, we've been there for a few weeks - that's certainly enough time to get the nasty on with the characters you have around, and there's always opportunity for others to turn up. And I'm not just saying that because I want more scenes with Astrid. On a personal level I would also recommend a lot more Bellatrix, but I'm interested to see more of almost everyone. And as for who I'm not - other people surely would be.

5/5 - Enjoyed and recomended, an excellent game so far, looking forward to more of it

TL;DR = really great story. This game is worth playing just for the sake of story. Unfortunately sex content is underwhelming.

Story: 5/5
+ The plot of the game could be summarized as a crossover between Gladiator, Game of Thrones and Alladin.
+ Each chapter of the game is slightly different. You start as a street rat inside Arabic city, then you progress through cutthroat palace politics into being a gladiator plotting a rebelion.
- Next chapter (4th) will probably be similar to the Pirates of Caribbean. LOL. Its serious rollercoaster.

Art: 4/5
+ Renders are decent. Fight scenes are also pretty good.

Sex content: 2/5
- Game doesnt have much sex content.
- Problem with sex content could be summarised with saying "jack of all trades is master of none". Sex content is divided between different kinks like: Gay Male, Femboys (androgynous boys dressing like girls), Shemale (dick girls) and straight M/F content. If for some reason you dont like majority of content (eg. you are straight male) then the game doesnt have much to offer to you.
- Unlike other games that focuses on certain kinks into depth, this game is trying to give a little bit to everybody. I guess it's better than nothing.

Gameplay: 3/5
+ Typical VN with choices.
- Game is pretty straightforward so majority of choices dont matter. Only real choice is whether you want to have a sex with certain characters. Rest of choices just give some flavour text.
+ But I must admit that some choices have surprising impact. For example the choice with whom you want to train as a gladiator had pretty decent impact (fists VS swords VS daggers). Based on your training the following scenes in arena were quite different and I enjoyed them. But it's mostly an exception that confirms previous rule.

To sum it up:
This game is worth playing just for the story. Sex content is something extra to add some spicy flavour.

A really promising Visual Novel (click-to-see-next-slide gameplay) about an adventure set in the Arabian nights era that ventures into other lands and seas (Game of Thrones meets Alladin.)
Wide variety of cast, solid story elements, great renders, rich content where nothing is forced (straight, gay, femboy, trap, shemale) and some in-game choices (unfortunately there are no dialogue options.) Chapter 3 ends on a very promising note. Disclaimer: this VN uses specific humor on meta level (dumb MC, dialogue with third person "narrator" breaking the fourth wall, modern references etc.) that some may find too much or weird.

A great game that i would recommend to everyone. Game takes place in a Middle Eastern setting which is rare and really cool i loved the background visuals and the whole Arabic/Middle Eastern vibe . Characters were the best part each of them had a complex background with their hopes and ambitions even the side characters were fun and cool looking royal family was full of interesting characters which i loved to hate (except Darius and sultan they were cool ). as a law student i really enjoyed the trial of the mc it was really cool and original. Overall i think game is great and dev has done an amazing job only think that i would like to see improved would be the pirate girls character which seems kinda generic i hope more characters would be incorporated in the main story id love to see silence being added as a main girl. In conclusion this game was one of the best games I played in a long time .

This game is amazing. The characters are great. Atmosphere is great, immersive. Laughable moments also great. The story is very enjoyable and interesting to follow.

For me the sex-scenes does not have enough content for everyone's tastes. I personally would like to see more dominant main love characters. I found that too in the game, but it was not convincing enough.

I am giving 4 stars and not 5, because i was frustrated and hated it when the narrator deviates from narrating and start speaking his mind about situations and making jokes within the story, like he is a character, only that he is not.. he is just narrator. There are even ridiculous moments where this annoying and intrusive narrator start speaking with the MC and the MC is answering... W.T.F. ?? I mean i understand the willingness to be funny and to have humor, but that's should not be at any cost. The result of this is that the narrator is breaking the immersion even in one of the sex-scenes... Why is that needed? I personally strongly advise the narrator - stick to narrating. Portray the details in the scene where needed. Explain situations for the reader when there is ambiguity. All this. But stay out of the story it self and in the scenes. Don't take part in it. Don't be a wiseguy and smartass. I can't imagine someone liking this. :|

Review of the version 0.4.1 (chapter 3)

This game is fucking phenomenal. I don't remember when was the last time I had so much fun playing a video game, and as far as erotic vidya go, it is in a class by itself.

Protagonist.
Ashur is a loveable goofball that unfortunately I wasn't really able to identify with, even tho' I am usually capable of doing so regardless of the main character's gender. I guess his appearance and/or personality is too masc for me to be able to put myself in his shoes. Despite that I still like him as a character in the story, and it's cool to see him evolve and develop.

Characters.
The cast in this game is quite diverse, and i love that. Kadijah and Tahir are both really fucking hot, interesting and multi-dimensional as well. Zilv is a great and charming guy. Unfortunately he is too manly for my taste, but I am still happy that bara enjoyers also have something for them in this game. Aislinn's character feels a little underdeveloped for now, and she is not exactly my type, but I can see potential in her. As for Astrid: she is really beautiful, incredibly hot, and cute as fuck. Her design is top tier, and her personality is both strong and sweet. In my opinion there is nothing better than a tall, muscular girl and I just fucking love her. Also honorable mention for my boi Abel. Such an incredible side character.
Even the non-romancable or non-fuckable characters are for the most part deep and well developed. Darius is a fucking bro. We also get antagonists that I personally really love to hate.

Story.
The plot in this game is really engaging. This game has intrigue, secrets, adventure and epic fight scenes. It is one of the few erotic games with a story that makes me genuinely interested, and I can't wait to see what will happen to our heroes (?) in the next chapters.

Writing.
In the first chapter I was actually kinda annoyed with the constant jokes and the fact that narrator and Ashur were talking to each other, but I got used to it pretty quickly, and now I even enjoy it a bit. Other than that, the writing is pretty good.

Erotic scenes.
Sex scenes in this game are really hot. I like the fact that this game has quite diverse options when it comes to the sexual content. You can play Ashur as either straight, gay or bi/pan. There are both muscular and slim women, and both feminine and masculine men for you to choose from, so I think that almost everybody will find something for themselves. I also love the trans representation in this game. It's unusually well made for a porn game and handled pretty respectfully, so it surprised me in a very positive way. The only problem that I have with the erotic content so far, is the fact that Ashur's dick in the beginning of the game is comically big, but it thankfully got fixed in the later chapters.

As a side note: the fact that you have to select once again which choices you have made in the earlier chapters seems a little bit weird, and I hope it will get fixed in the future.

So yeah, even with its small issues, I can't give this game a rating different than 5 stars. It's fucking excellent, I have huge respect for the developer of this game, and I can't wait for the next chapters. I definitely recommend playing it.

perfect scenes, story and characters. Tons of humor. Any genres. Uncommon models. Protagonis is cute. Many routes. Detailed enviroment. This game deserve top list, in my opinion. Also game bring distinct genres, im not fan of gay theme, but it's cool, that presented in game. Also great setting.

When I decided to play this game, I did it with the intention of simply playing Ashur as a gay dude, going for the two main guys in the game and then moving on. I assumed that would be all that interested me about the game, and that it was gonna be the usual "fap/schlick material" with a barely passable story, but with better looking 3D models. The 3D models are what caught my interest in the first place, as they seemed more realistic and more carefully made then most.

Man, what a misguided and cynical bitch I was, not to mention completely wrong.

By the time I finished, I'd created individual play-through saves for every romance-able character (including types that I'm not usually attracted to), multiple for some, as well as exploring alternative routes and bad endings. I can confidently say, I truly love this game. lol

This game is immersive af. From the storyline itself, to the interesting cast of characters, the humor throughout, and the graphics that are not only realistic (compared to other 3D adult games I've seen) but also arranged to compliment the action alongside them. There is so much care and thought put into this game so far; the dev clearly loves their game, and it really shows.

The cast of characters are brilliant, and I'm totally in love with a couple of them. They're multi-faceted and sympathetic -- you feel drawn to their personalities and stories -- and the only stereotypes among them are side characters who exist for comedic value, and there it works really well (I'm looking at you, Adoring Fan and Karen the Bitch). Straight up good and evil doesn't really exist here, which adds to the realism, and I can honestly say there is not a single character I out-and-out hate or find boring. Every one of them has something to feel attached to, amused or intrigued about, or just curious to see where and when they'll pop up again.

As I mentioned before, I'm generally not a fan of 3D graphics in games. This is predominantly because I feel they look stiff, plastic and ugly, but again, this game proves an exception. While not perfect, the care put into each character having a unique look and identity is clear, and each character's movement in an image is carefully posed, right down to their facial expression. I've never seen a 3D game of this type that puts so much effort into portraying movement through still images, and as your brain fills in the blanks between them, it really makes the scene come alive.

My absolute favorite characters are Zilv (whom I lovingly refer to as 'dilf', just something about that guy!) and Astrid (beautiful, sweet Astrid), both of whom I'm completely taken with and will 100% murder two more Sultans for if I have to. Also, Ashur, the player's character, is a massive hit with me. He's got a fun personality, and he's pretty attractive. He also look crazy hot with long hair and beard (please let him keep it, Dev!).

When it comes to cons or things I didn't like in the game, there's really nothing of great significance that stands out. A small exception is that occasionally the narration or humor is inserted into a situation where I feel it would be better omitted - such as the middle of a sex scene. In those instances it's a little distracting and can take away from the sexiness of the moment. Also, some of the dev notes that are randomly inserted in the game can have an equally immersion-breaking effect. However, these things are minor problems in an otherwise exceptional game.

I cannot wait for more!

That game is a 10/10, the story is good! The musics! The cgs! Everything is good! You play thinking everything funny, your choices can change the game, I really liked it, and have FUTAS! Finally a game with Futas and good, well, I loved, and I want play more of this game, play it too and you will live it, a poor man who become a hero like Aladin, I loved!

The MC is behaving like a child and not a man at all.
the writing of the MC is just annoying because he is acting immature and like some who missing a chromosome.

Very beautiful renders and the music is real nice also, the story seemed interesting but the writing just threw me off.

Exiles starts off good and continues to get better and better as the story progresses.
This game is great if you are looking for something specific that you enjoy:
Straight, gay, femboy, trap, shemale, and probably more... without forcing said content on you.
I personally don't care for drawn out dialogue which this game has. I also found that the game has a hard time identifying your MC's orientation (just keeps asking). These things are personal preference and aren't objective reasons to remove a star. Having orientation related options throughout the game may be preferable to others.
Overall, however, I believe that this game is well-pollished and enjoyable for just about anyone. It is very lighthearted and can even perk up your day if you let it.
Before I go I have a pro tip:
When given the chance to flip someone the bird; Do it. (trust me on this)

If you are looking for some interesting characters with good looks and personalities, a good (coherent) plot, really good dose of humor and hot sex scenes (with tenderness aftersex), this is the game!
I like that the game dont make you skip a character if you dont want to bang him/her, you can also be her/his friend too.
Also, Timepants (the dev) is really active in the forum, receiving feedback and drop in quality loafbread and vest jokes.
