Ren'Py - Exilium - Breeding Empire [v0.2.6] [Nocturnal Illusions]

Most of my grievances have been mentioned by other reviewers and commenters already, but holy shit is this game wasted potential. Even setting all technical issues aside (bugs, terrible UX, ...), the underlying game is substandard at best and outright infuriating at worst. Despite its niche (i.e., the breeding/breeder niche) having basically no competition, it still falls short to YEARS old abandoned projects. The story is unengaging (which can honestly be excused, the majority of us are here for "plot" reasons and not for the story let's be real), the characters have no personality whatsoever and the art is also just some cheap ai shit.

It was fun for about an hour. After doing everything available it got really repetitive. Good Concept and story that i like with some stratify to combat. Needs more to do to keep one interested. have a good one.

It's pretty bad, and because it's a game with AI-generated content, the story is pretty silly. Character interaction is weak, and the images are very generic. Because they use AI images, it's hard to empathize because the positions and dialogue don't seem to fit. I feel like I'm talking to frozen characters.

I really don't get it why this game has so low rating, but it gave me some really fun time. Usually I am a "fast jerk off" type of player, but this game has somehow hooked me for more. For the first time in a while I actually cared what the girls had to say, their feelings, relation with the mc etc. The game has some fairly unique mechanics for relations development, combat etc. Plus ai content has surprising consistency(not with flaws ofc) and decent quality

It's a fresh mix of bunch of fun stuff both in sex stuff, game mechanics and story. If you are into impregnating as much as you can - you should check it out

This game has the terrible ai cg, the worst one, all filled with this version of AI. It's not even a game, horrible just horrible, no creativity anyone could do this. I despise this way of developing. One of the worst game out there. You should pay people to play this crap, but instead you charge for this AI scam

the game itself is ok, nothing extraordinary, just solid h-novel with strategy elements and good art. Would definetely got 4 from me, if not for the paywalled segemnts - some girls and scenes are available only in paid version. Thanks all the good souls who post the patreon version here!

I honestly wanted to like the game, so I ignored the reviews and gave it a shot, because, hey, with art this good (or at least decent), then the actual game can’t be that bad, right?

Wrong. The fact is, the art is the only thing this game has going for it, and even that’s a reach. The story is practically non-existent, the interactions are lacking and hollow, and the gameplay itself? A joke. Even the UI is lackluster in nature.

I’d really like to believe that as the game is developed, it will mature and do justice to the art and concept it puts forth… but for the moment, it’s not worth the time.

The AI art is ok, it's pretty limited in terms of material and scene changes are odd given AI's limited ability to generate consistent images.

The rest of the game is pretty dull and uninspired. For a game about breeding there's very little focus on it. One image per girl for sex scenes regardless of pregnancy stage.

If you're bored give it a go, other wise you are not missing much.

#2 economics math is a shambles you end up click click click just in hopes to get enough on hand if ever
#3 Ai are ok but no thanks not a fan of ai there is not passion it the work its just click generate and boring to be honest
#4 no direct interactin oh MC to the ai its base full on a text novel at best with a few boring graphic backgrounds and ai

I feel like the story is barely there, your supposed to save the human race by fucking girls that has a breeder job, even if they dont like it thats just how it is since apprently they got no say in it, so it feels quite empty and pointless and worng, but i guess for a mindless fuckfest game it is what it is, for the rest of the crew which is ofc all females, you cant just fuck those atleast not yet, but it looks like you will be able to in future updates since you can go over a few dialogs and then repeat them over and over to gain some points, so far only the black girl has that active but no sex or anything with her yet, well outside her playing with a dildo machine thing.

Theres just not enough story for the LIs if you can even call them LIs since its just their job to fuck who ever, one girl you get has already been used by aliens so when you get her shes already pregnant and starts giving birth to eggs?

I would have liked to have seen alot more story and a more choice driven one, but its a typical sandbox thing where you repeat the same dialogs over and over and over which will never feel like your making progress or building a relationship.

I did like the fighting even though it does need a bit more diversity since its pretty boring in the long run right now.
The base building was a bit meh since you can pretty much just build everything from the get go so it felt pointless.

The pregnancy stuff is also meh, you fuck a girl 100% chance of getting pregnant and on day 2 she has a huge belly and a few days later she gives birth and apprently the babies arent babies they are fully grown adults with combat training? so when a girl get a baby you can hire it as a fighter to go fight aliens....it just dosent feel like theres much thought put into the story.

As for animations/sex scenes, they are soooo bland and boring, theres no dialogs doing sex since you just click once on the mouse button and its over, its just so extremly boring to watch a sex scene with 0 dialogs or any emotions.
Also why on earth do they all keep their clothes on when fucking? i dont think you see their tits once when fucking them? they even keep shoes on? so yeah lets just say sex scenes needs alot of work.

As for the girls it is AI art which is ok for me but some hate it.

Then theres the paywall/micro transactions which everyone hates, theres alot of girls locked behind codes that you need to pay for, but i guess dev thought game wouldent have a chance to gain support like most other games, meaning by just being a good game, i do support a few games but none with paywalls but some where you get the content a month or more ealiere then free version, thats how it should be if you ask me.

AI art is alright, management is bog-standard menu affair, wake up, click around to do X, Y, Z, sleep, repeat. Lots of options, very shallow. Half the game's content is also patreon locked, which would be fine but the games is very in your face about it, and it also means that this early in the development there is very little here unless you really like the number management.

needs some work but its hot. look its not perfect it needs a lot of work on balance and content, but I don't mind the AI art honestly as long as its curated to not have 6 fingers and shit its perfectly acceptable and hot. Just wish there was more.

I loved this game. It's sexy and refreshing.

After playing the game and considering it's a new game (I'm always more harsh towards stablished games), I was baffled with the reviews.
Being sci-fi one of my favorite themes I went on without knowing what to expect.

The game is beautiful graphically speaking, all renders feel high quality, animations are smooth for the most part and the UI is fantastic.
The pregnant content is really goodm(well it's the focus of the game) and I had yet to see something similar to this combat in a NSFW game.

I want to see where this game is in 1 year.
Sure it has it's shortcomings, there are some issues to be worked upon, but the pluses are a lot bigger than the negatives. And above all, it's not just a rehashed clone of another game, it's something new.

If you like the theme, definitely give it a try, I do recommend

No thought whatsoever went into the maths of the games economy. The numbers don't add up which means the dev doesn't give a fuck about quality of the thing he is creating and is lazy. Nor did the developer bother to playtest his own fucking game because I played just an hour or so and saw the utter crapfest this game's economy is. it is so fucking shit that you can get the economy to work with just workers and farmers. those two resource pillars of the game can't make enough food and energy to create a surplus of food or energy crystals to sell to cover the wages of each other let alone cover the costs of funding your science and soldiers. Fucking utter shit show,

Lazy workmanship. How the fuck did the developer not do the fucking math when he put in the numbers? How did he not notice the problem when he play tested the game? Well because he doesn't give a shit. If I could give this game zero stars I would. Fucking inexcusable laziness here. NOT WORTH THE DOWNLOAD. I got the game for free and I still feel ripped off.

God... this game is... whew, where do I start?

Ok, first off, AI art, yes some people hate AI art. I don't. I think the AI art in this game is fantastic, and really well done, better than in most games you'll find here. So big plus there.

Next, hyperpregnancy / breeding fetish. This may or may not be some people's thing, but it's the main focus of the game, so know that going in and don't be surprised. As someone else pointed out however it does turn sex into a bit of a 'chore' and you don't really get much in the way of this fetish other than 3 progressively larger bellies. A little more text or interaction with the breeders could do a lot more to cement this fetish.

As for the game, it IS a game, but is it a good one? I think there's aspects here that could be greatly improved upon, but they just feel so bare bones at this stage that it's impossible to tell. If this game were further along the level of interaction with the game would be highly unacceptable. Build a room, staff it, the end. No need to go back there to all but 2 or 3 rooms.

As for how 'sexy' the game is this is where the game really falls flat in the 1.6p version. You're told that waking up new crew makes them horny, so you expect sex scenes with new characters, but nope, one character and that's it. The rest of your sex is repeated breeding scenes with 1-4 breeders, and even that is just a few still images. No writing to speak of, and the same thing over and over and over day after day.

It feels like a real waste, and needs to be built out with more images, more choices, and more dialogue between the characters.

Finally and most obnoxiously, there's the paywall. I don't begrudge people trying to monetize their game, but it feels pretty rough in this one. There's SO much content locked behind the paywall that it feels aggressive. Including one of the four aforementioned breeders. So if you aren't a patreon, your sexual partners are reduced by 25%.

I feel like this could be a really good game, but it really needs a lot of work. If the author expands out what he's got going here, and continues the strength of his AI art, while filling in the gaps with better dialogue, and more interaction, and more frequent events, this game could feel like a game, and not just a chore. I think with care and attention this could easily be a 5 star game.... it's just not yet.

The AI renders are okay, and that's about the best thing I can say about this game. The management side of the game is underwhelming and really just boils down to clicking "next day" until you have enough people to do what you want. The turn-based combat section feels tacked on and doesn't really contribute anything that passively gaining gems and gold wouldn't. Using sex to up the birthrate turns eroticism into a daily chore instead of a reward, and the sex scenes are half-baked at best. It feels like a porn game that doesn't know what makes porn sexy or what makes games fun.

AI art is wonky in some places but the setting is fantastic we need more colony ship set games and any aliens franchise stuff is great too. gameplay is pretty mid at the moment but its a nice foundation if it can be fleshed out into a full on colony managment sim it could be great.

This is an alpha; this is barebone gameplay with a paywall. There's nothing to do after the first 10 minutes because you need to "colonize" without building the planet, and the ship is locked to a fixed number of compartments.

The management system is terrible for now. The art is okayish, if you like fapping on two images that alternate to give the illusion of movement.

The number of possible workers is fixed. 2 for energy, for example, with one of those 2 behind a paywall. 3 for food with 1 you need to pay for, same for research, etc.

If you don't pay, you can't access half the content. Half of the breeders are also behind a paywall, same for the poster girl. Want to have the 2 nudes of the pretty blonde? Pay the 20 bucks.

I would see it as fair if you could generate generic workers and expand as you see fit, but you can't.
If you don't pay, you're crippled because you can't expand with the limited set of workers introduced. But even then, expand for what? There's nothing to expand on.

I really hope this "colonization" isn't a background story because it could be pretty good... Maybe. Limited number of workers is really a bad idea for base builders.

Way too simple and uninspiring for me. The AI generated porn looks deliciously vulgar but the naive and limited story line, the primitive setup, and the lack of interesting possibilities for development of the situation is not only below average, its is rock bottom.

For game that is this much unfinished and this much lacking in content and gameplay mechanics, it is astonishing that the dev already went and paywalled part of the very little content there is in the game right now.

At this point there is not much point of playing the game.
If you have seen the screenshots below download links, you have seen 90% of the content of this game.

Combat feels unbalanced and is very repetitive. Research is pointless. It seems that there is population bug going on, where even if your marines die, they are not subtracted from overall population - which mean that they still keep requiring food.

There is no way to increase your foodproduction beyond hiring two girls. You can not hire more. You can not assign workers to farm etc.
Practicaly right now if you breed your breeders, you will either lose because there is no system for food production (there are not many systems in the game at all) or you need to run every day multiple very repetitive missions where you will be losing your soldiers no matter what you do - while they will still require food after death and will require gold and more population to replace - which will require more food.

AI-art itself is ok. It is clear that someone put at least a modicum of work into this. It is not the lazy kind of AI-art where someone just smashed few prompts and accepted the first result he got. But there are still some minor defects in pictures and there is very little art in the game as it is - which is kinda shamefull if you are going the AI-art route.

maybe with 6-12 months of active development this will get somewhere good, but right now it is barebone project
