After going through it, aside from the audio issues the bones aren't too bad. Controls are pretty responsive (though the ability to remap keys is needed). The graphics are pretty good overall. Unfortunately that's about all the praise I've got.
The combat system needs a rework and a half. For enemies that'll only engage you in melee there's literally no reason for you to approach them first, but rather than approaching you they'll just sit there and guard. So you and the enemy just keep guarding over and over as you wait for them to eventually come to you. The 2 AP cap on AP you can get by guarding is just dumb, why even limit it to begin with? If enemies are too stupid and will just let you guard to full AP, then you need to rework their AI.
Right now you can approach enemies while their back is turned, but there's no sneaking ability, combat just starts as soon as you get into range. There's no way to be proactive and make the first move until you get the gun (and that has problems of its own). Even though they take a turn to face you, you always start 2 spaces away so there's no way to take advantage of that. Again, there's almost no reason to ever approach enemies yourself unless they're going to attack you from range, so combat just doesn't feel fun at all. Imagine if you were playing a game like Final Fantasy Tactics, but moving on your turn consumed your entire action. You'd never move, instead you'd just sit there and wait for your enemy to approach first so you can get the first attack which is what happens in this game. That's why nearly any decent turn-based game with some kind of movement either separates movement and taking actions, or has some kind of system in place that allows you to do both under the right circumstances.
With the way AP works, actions like the push kick make no sense whatsoever. If you're at 2 AP and push kick, then even if the enemy wastes a turn moving to you, you have to spend the next turn guarding and taking a hit anyway to get AP back so you can attack (and that's assuming you hit them successfully). The player should at least get 1 AP back automatically per turn so there isn't so much downtime in every fight having to just stand there and eat a hit before you can do something again. Because you don't get AP back naturally, moving once you're in melee range doesn't have any value either since you'll just still be stuck at the same amount of AP you already had, or they'll hit you with a ranged attack. It could be tied into the survival mechanics by letting you regain AP when you're not hungry/tired, but working as it currently does when you are. Having a gun lets you take initiative, but then you have to spend AP just to open the inventory to pull out your pipe once you get into melee?! The gun also just feels pathetically weak. It does less damage than punches and kicks! Not to mention the hunger/fatigue mechanics end up going "okay, guess it's time to make the combat even worse." If you're trying to kill any kind of fun whatsoever, then this system is succeeding wildly at that because the default way the game plays feels like a punishment state.
The pace of the game in general is agonizing, just nothing but constant waiting. Wait for this elevator to move so you can finally get to the level select screen. Wait for your character on the level select screen to move so you can go to the level you picked. Wait for the elevator to get to the right point so you can do something once you get into the level. Wait, wait, wait, WAIT, WAIT, WAIT. These things need to be sped up or removed completely. Sure it's nice for the atmosphere, but it doesn't take long at all until you're completely sick and tired of watching yourself have to ride the tram waiting for it to finally take you out of the level.
Sexual content is sorely, sorely lacking, and what little there is right now is really plain and boring given the game's premise. How are you gonna have everyone infected by a symbiote that mutates people and also makes them super horny, and have absolutely no sex elements during combat? Running around the ship almost naked at the start just feels like a complete tease, since clothing damage (and the previously mentioned combat sex) is like such an obvious selling point for a game like this yet it lacks that element completely. As things stand as a regular game it's really boring because the combat just doesn't work, and as a sex game it's also really boring. This gallery is also a joke, it doesn't even contain the sex scenes that are in the game, and instead it's full of random fluff you don't care about.
