on the LI's topic, it is outrageous that Samantha is not an LI, come on you guys, bummed out by Michelle, but Samantha is where I draw the line
Thank you for expressing your feelings, and opinions. I value all, even if they're ones that are not in a positive light, so long as they're constructive and not disrespectful. Even, when opinions from others I may not agree with, I equally appreciate and respect them for voicing their opinions. Plus, as you're expressing your own opinion, I thank you for that.
Taking what you've said onboard, I must remind everyone that this is not a harem game, nor is this an adult game for "sex". Any sexual/romantic content is an extra, at my own discretion and not the main focus, nor ever will be, which I wanted to add in. The primary theme of this game is a
horror slasher as was prevalent, especially during the 80s when it came to films.
The games that I intend to specialize in as a dev will be among similar themes, within the horror genre in the future after this project.
I do like, as was my intention that all of you are feeling an appeal/attraction towards different members of the cast, whether they be the main, or minor supporting roles. As
damnedfrog excellently points out and has been mentioned many times since I created this thread and started that there will be
death. Who's death that'll be for me to decide
(perhaps I know who will die already, or if more fortunate an "unfortunate" accident falls upon them?) as I write this story, so take the assumption as Damnedfrog and
most already assume that anyone, and everyone can die. Maybe you will die?
Also, at the forefront of our minds keeping into the equation that anyone can die... there will be reasons why I don't make X, y or z love interests:
Maybe a cast member won't make it to the end no matter what, maybe I have something else planned for them, maybe adding them as a love interest will add too many paths, and take away from the story. Perhaps there are other LI's that are yet to make an appearance or be revealed as LI's?
Also, let's say hypothetical that I made Samantha a love interest... then i'd be doing so to appeal a few, at the cost of quality to the game, as I'd be steering away from my vision to appease fans of a character. Every dev can do as they wish, but there are plenty of cases where harem vn's get too big, cause fans want a character to be a love interest = more characters get added and it would bloat the story and take away from writing the actual story, to create a relationship harem sort of game, which this never will be. Plus, if I start pleasing fans by adding one girl as a love interest, then others will demand more get added = an endless, and a viscous cycle where I try to please everyone and this game will become a shadow of it's former self, and become ... let's be honest... by the end of it.
Crap.
And, let's be honest... not every girl will like other girls. This game isn't unrealistically where every girl is a lesbian, or bi.
Skeltom Thank you also for voicing your opinion. Again, I respect and appreciate what you've told me. One or two people (like 5 max out of 50) going by the two past feedback poll surveys that I've done have stated that they do not care for/like the movie. I get it, not everyone will like it, and that's okay. If you're worried that I'm going to start throwing lots of non-cannon movie scenes in etc, don't worry I don't intend to. Nor do I intend to do the infamous "dream sex sequence" either into this game (to "add" sex to please fans), which is a "debatable" topic in the forums on if people like it or not.
But we need a reminder of A) it's a horror as
Dessolos excellently sums up. B) I wanted to add the movie C) I wanted to give out a shoutout to a few people who via my Discord server have been instrumental in giving me the confidence to keep on going. Most of my community interaction is done, and always will be done via my Discord server, as I'm very talkative and involved there. Do remember though that in a lot of 80s slashers... characters watch horror movies, before or during when they get killed... and this game does do a lot of homage nods to various other things, which does include some horror tropes.
As for the
unlockables it's purely an
optional extra, which people can do. Some people like to be a completionist and "collect them all". Some will use my in-game "cheat" to unlock the gallery. Some, like yourself will not either care to get the unlockables, or don't want to have girls pre-spoiled for you. That's perfectly fine. It's there as a balance to appease all (as impossible as that will ever be). Personally, I'd have had all unlockables be SFW at least until much later in the game, but the majority call out for nudity from the start... this is why there is nudity in those renders (not all) to appeal to that crowd to an "extent". Again, to an extent as I am the one making the game at the end of the day in my vision.
Also, bearing in mind everything that I've said so far, I genuinely am pleased that you're looking forward to more updates as more chapters get released. So thank you all of you for sharing your thoughts with me.
