Ren'Py - Abandoned - Fairy Tale Adventure [v2.5b] [MasQuerade]

quite simply one of the worst games on the site lol.
its just really really bad
the writing is bad
the gameplay is bad
sex scenes are really rare and when they are there they are bad
its really understandable that this shit show is abandoned.
what worries me though is the other games by the same developer are they as bad as this one or better? because i am interested in parody games.

"Don't Bother With It"

This is one of the very first eroge I've played and boi, even when I'm still new, this game suck. I expect to fuck disney bitches but all I got is a bunch of OC characters soaking all of the spotlights and then there are barely sex scenes and when you got that, the scene is disappointing anyway. The story felt convoluted and the gameplay is all over the place.
It feels like this project is a stepping stone for the devs, trying a bunch of things just to see how it works.
This game got abandoned for a reason.

This game give me quite nice experience, because main hero of this game actually can be happy and can have actual godly glory. Even if half of a game I was unsatisfied, of how slow things goes, and how not many girls hero can F***, but in the end I was satisfied.

It was fun while it lasted, loved seeing alot of the parodies of characters from different shows. However the devs Abandoned the game for some reason to another. The game have some good elements and scenes, but near the end it just seemed lacking and no more heart is being poured into the game. Probably why they abandoned it. Cant say i recommend this game. Probably worth checking out their other game.

The writing is bad as hell. I respect the writer trying to use show and don't tell, but they have no idea how to weave exposition into the narrative. It is impossible to tell what is going on. The main character doesn't help. We have no idea who he is, other than a boss of thugs, yet somehow he has the eye (and supposedly the sexual interest) of both the queen and snow white. He goes from sexually dominant to a creep, and from a mafia boss to some sly high IQ glasses adjusting anime character at regular intervals.

The logic of this game is shot to hell. The madam of the brothel, whom is your underling, needs guards to keep her girls safe. So, when you get to recruit henchman, obviously you can just assign them to the brothel, right? Wrong. With no hint whatsoever you have to continue the story to find a specific person who doesn't even seem to have the capabilities to defend a brothel, or even understand basic laws of civilization considering she's a savage.
And, my god, the minigames. The main source of income for the first act, which feels like the only act because of how bipolar and inconsistent the plot is, is a matching card game. Bear in mind that you literally get the option to rob nobles, and somehow that doesn't pay better, and the patrons of some bar in the gutter seem to be able to dole out more cash.
The writer of this game is also a complete fucking idiot. His dialogue is awful, and you're forced to read it. Why? Because every now and you're prompted to type in the answer to some vague-ass question, the answer to which is hidden in some minor character's dialogue somewhere on the map. Who the fuck wants to do some stupid ass shit like that? He can't make entertaining characters or minigames so he's gotta practically FORCE us to pay attention.
Oh, and by the way, he plagerized the dialogue from like five different games. Next time you're gonna pull something like that, buddy, try to take it from a game a little less popular than Witcher 3.

Utterly awful, and I honestly have to wonder what the hell people are smoking that rate this anything higher than two stars.

My disappointment is immeasurable, and my day is ruined.

The game advertises itself as being all about fairy tale princesses and other notable heroines. Girls like ELSA and SNOW WHITE!!!

But in truth its 99% random mediocre women that no one recognizes with a tedious plot I don't care about because WHERE IS ELSA???

And even then you get like, one sex scene, and that's it you never see that girl again - what the heck?! If you want to promote your OC's go ahead but don't catfish me with Elsa porn that never comes! SAD!

The hard to follow story, plenty half baked ideas and mechanics, and the story just doesn't flow right and is down right confusing some times. Half the time you don't know whats going on or why. It honestly feels like 90% of everything that happens in the game just happens for no reason. The pacing is strange, you'll visit locations that have been in the game for almost ever and they feel like placeholders that are extremely empty. There's almost borderline zero character development, and some of the only ones that have any (i'm using any loosely) there's hardly any CG for them. Not to mention the art is only ok at best.

Does not have tons of sex scenes, but the story is written very well. Quality stuff. This is the first game to have a good enough plot for me to pay attention to the story and it has many drastic twists that were kinda shocking for me.

Excellent game with good adult content and a very unique and changing style and story through out that is interesting but does not get in the way of the fun stuff. .

I liked it and even been a patreon in the beginning, but the big problem is that the game is all over the place.
From a promising brothel management game with capturable heroines, it's now a weird game where hero is transported randomly in multiple fairy tales, and no time to attach yourself to any character. I don't understand where this is going, but clearly it's not for me anymore.

HI!, i am on the 2.4 version of this and here are some things you must know.
1-the story :wierd, with flaws BUT interesting
2-gameplay:lazy (really is just a "clickadventure", just use cheats or a savegame editor online)
3-draw:they are really good (mostly)
4-scenes (sexual ones)-meh (okey meh +1)
5-scenary ambient and music: is a mess is like they just put all in a blender and trowing on the game.

This game, sadly, has huge flaws.

There's no development in relationships with the girls, except for a bit with Liesel.
This could be such a great game if they added more pictures in the actual sex scenes AND fleshed out the stories of the existing girls instead of adding half a dozen new ones with each update.

I mean, I couldn't do anything with Elsa, as apparently they have only this one sprite for her, nothing else, I would love to have some interactions with Grimhilde, that progressed depending on how I treat her and what I do instead of show breasts or don't. Same with Snow and many others.
Like in the Death path, you can get Maggie as apprentice/slave and then all you can do is chain her to the wall.
I mean, would my MC even want to do that, considering she was his friend?

For the huge time between the updates, the story is here or there, all over the place, leading nowhere.

It's really disappointing as both art and concept are good.

Fairy Tale Adventure is like a sandwich, it tries to add too many things resulting in a spread out mess. The plot and characters are incredibly boring with the plot not even knowing what it want's to do with itself. It tries to please everyone but it fails spectacularly. The main problem is that it does not know what it wants to do. Does it want to be a deep story with a deep plot, does it want to be a kingdom running simulator, or does it want to add porn? If this was a good game it would be able to do all 3, but in reality its a lackluster plot with constant back and forth between lands resulting in us not being able to connect with any place. For Example "Oh sweet Agrabah.... Oh wait I've only been there for 5 minutes and can't go back..... Ok How about London that sounds cool!... Oh I can't go back either?" There are also stupid decisions that make no real impact (Other than the afterlife), and since it has introduced so many females there is a lack of any actual content. The art however is quite good and the base idea has a lot of potential, as it stands this has a long way to get better but it still has the small spark of greatness.

1 star = the story is very interresting and you will follow it without hesitation. also containt a good amount of humour that is always a bonus in games like this.
2nd star = the art is pretty good and well done. the game have a good amount of content and grow continuously in good way.
3rd star = grinding/ progresion is correct and didnt require hours of repetitive same stuff other and other. the variation of quest is a good point.
4th star = the sound is good ( music and voice )

all in all, this game is a small gem in WIP that grow in the good way. keep an eye on it, it have futur and can become a great game

i get 1 star back down. main reason for me is the art who is sometime extremly different from the original art, sometime it even look super manganese and out of place. that create a huge break in the game for me. and i m very not fan of this style of art.
good thing the game is still good on the story and some parts of it didnt have changed. still a decent game that worth a try. i hope in futur the game will reverse back to his original art and kick away thoses terrible anime style drawing :/

Menu too little AND trasparent. No clues about what you're doing. Graphic is so-so at best. Starting screen horrible. There is a story? No. Something making you satisfied or amused? NO!
Increase the interface to full screen. Add a Journal or a Quest Book. The premise said you can choose you identity. Not true, only your name. You're forced into a path with a little amount of choices. No, wait you can ONLY make an ambush in the Forest with a random result. No choices then. Calling me old man when i reach the tavern is horrible. At least call me Master. Who am i? Not explained. How i was sealed and why i have the Magic Mirror? Not said.
Robin work for me? The mirror said i was sealed for a long time, why he's waiting next door?
All in all i don't really understand anytihing. And if you cannot roleplay where is the fun?
