RPGM - Completed - Fallen Priestess: My Sister's Demonic Bloodline [v1.0.8] [BBQ Lover]

I feel lied to. The only thing good about this game is the art. The story is just stupid and disjointed. Like there is a shitton of worthless lore that the characters don't even acknowledge so it serves no purpose Fake Super Attentive Oni-chan and Bland Step Sister-chan(also that is such a cop-out thing. Just make it incest none of that step sibling bullshit) start the game knowing nothing and end the game solving nothing.

And the porn is weird. I went in knowing this is NTR and expected most if not all of the porn being NTR with maybe like 2 bro pics. Either true end virgin pic end or very vanilla bjs/boobjobs. But I went the whole game without seeing anything but the kiss scene. And it wasn't until I read the comments that I realized that I have not do that and go a days without the sister having mana thus making my life harder.

Whoever the dev is for this game they need to stop making games and let the artist just make CG digital booklets. Dev is a moron but I should have known that with how combat works, general exploration, the horrible puzzles and just the lack of cohesion the game has.

The visuals are incredible. The attention to detail is phenomenal. Weather Cycles, Farming, Times of Day, Jobs around town, well paced corruption, well paced RPG level up mechanics, new movesets for each weapon, an engaging crafting system - ALL OF THAT IS PERFECT.

But the game has three simple problems.
1) After four hours the story has not progressed in a meaningful way. The main characters still know nothing and have made minimal progress toward curing Trina's sickness.
2) There is very minimal sexual content unless you actively choose to neglect your sister. All she needs is 1 kiss every night. And if you deny that, then she'll lose control, but why would you? And the Protagonist is written as HYPER-ATTENTIVE, so for you to neglect her feels wrong. At that point just download a full save to view the scenes. If the cucking doesn't come naturally, what's the point of manually facilitating it?

3) BUGS. This game has bugs everywhere. Sound effects start looping, menu items disappear, enemies stop respawning, key items are not highlighted so its near impossible to progress without a guide, as soon as you wakeup the game tries to put you to sleep again; farming crops disappear randomly, and so on. None of these bugs are game breaking but they are deeply immersion breaking.

Why play this when there are millions of other games that - although they don't have high graphics - are much better made?

Not as good as Nebel Geisterjäger (yet, there will be free DLC later), but still a better GAME than 90% of the usual rpg-maker porn "games" out there.

But beware that this may not be for you if you're not interested in playing a game and are just looking for a quick wank.

In its current state, I can't give it a good rating. I like the game, but it still has the same problems as its predecessor, Nebel: excessive grinding and mediocre rewards compared to the time and effort required. To top it off, the game is riddled with bugs that can ruin your playthrough. I need these problems fixed so I can give it a better rating—less grinding, more high-quality adult content, and quality-of-life improvements in addition to fixing all the bugs

this is one of the best games out there. the amount of content, the attention to details, the production value overall is very high.

1. the combat is interesting and not grinding. there is actually valid strategy to this.
2. the story is quite long, deep and branches widely. story progression feels quite natural.
3. H content is plentiful and connects well into the story and progress. the drawings are good too.

overall this is a solid package and well worth paying for the game.
note: as of patch 1.05, the game is still bugged once you get deeper. you can still get to an ending but you might need to wait a bit for a better player experience.

The game has its ups and downs. It's not perfect, not bad, not even mediocre. It was just okay... Story was serviceable, classic slay the demon lord to save the world/ your loved ones with minor twists here and there. The best part of this game is the combat with several weapon types with unique skills but it overstays it's welcome by the mid game and every battle just becomes the same and enemies/bosses turn into pushovers. There are some performance issues here and there were certain maps would cause spiking in FPS but some of it has already been fixed by the dev in the latest updates. There are many bugs, some gamebreaking, some minor annoyance. I sincerely doubt the claim of the dev that only 5% of the bugs were remaining that they failed to fix when they released the game and they were confident in the release of the game. It makes me worry about the bugginess/performance of their upcoming FPS game. The H scenes are extremely repetitive with majority of them just harassment small cut out CGs (not full fledged CG) and the CG that is in here has high degree of reuse. There is Voice Acting for the fem protag in the game and it's alright.. There is some though put into the map design with most areas having unique mechanics/puzzles (some of the puzzles would be extremely tedious to solve and time consuming). There is also crafting/planting in the game but it's meh...

It's a lot better than their Red light district game in which the dev barely gave any effort into, but it's still a damn disappointment when compared to their magnum opus that is Nebel (in how polished it is when the game released and decent mechanics).

Unfortunately the game ended up being undercooked like I thought it would be from the demos. There's a decent enough amount of content here that's also of high enough quality for it to at least make it to 3 overall in my opinion.

That being said, the gameplay is not enjoyable at all. Hunting for items to find out what scene happened during the night is boring, and tiresome due to how big the map is and how unorthodox the path is to get to anywhere in the city. Even with teleportation signs being at key locations it's tedious to teleport all over the map hunting for the sparkle that lets you unlock a single scene. If I wasn't using Mtool to be able to click-teleport around quickly I probably wouldn't even bother looking for any sparkles. Then on that note, scenes are very linear, there's only one set scene in sequence, which is disappointing in the extreme compared to Nebel. So not only is the hunting for a scene worse here than previous games, but the method in which a scene occurs is also worse. It's really unfortunate because I think the CGs are of excellent quality, but there's so little variety there and once you've seen a CG or all the CGs one time for an event path that's all there is to see. There's no repeatable events, there's no events with slight variation or in a different location, there's barely anything to happen across while exploring so there's almost no fun surprise scenes, and it's also super easy to avoid all of the content so there isn't even a challenge here like there was in Nebel. There's almost no strategy here for the NTR either, in that regard it's even a worse NTR game compared to Nebel. You either sleep with the heroine yourself and her every need is easily satisfied, or you purposefully don't sleep with her and she goes and does things with someone else. It's that cut and dry. It's such a shame because I am certain that BBQ is capable of better than this, but his team seems to have felt like they had to release the game despite not fully realizing any single element of it, which honestly is starting to look like a trend for BBQ games. Great potential, some interesting mechanics, amazing CGs, but not any of those elements get fully realized and stand out, they all aim high but then fall short.

Very strong CGs, maps, story and the premise. VERY weak mechanics and undercooked characters.

Not only is the game (personally) even more annoying to grind than Nebel, the reward is laughable by comparison. There's barely any "live" content where you can watch Trina in real time like you could with Kana. No cameras-esq events are understandable but toilet, alleyway, onsen, bar like events from Nebel could easily fit here. You only ever find out what happened (at earliest) the next day after crafting the CG and trying to remember which of them is new, which is just boring.

With a lot of the content being inaccessible "in the moment" due to being either not shown or blocked by maids, doors and other macgyvers, you're only left with a few pixel animations that are shown in very few select scenes (brothel, prince ending etc.). Also, don't get me started on the overly complicated (for no good reason) status page that doesn't update the cum textures aside from her womb and requires your look for bracelets that unlock it portion by portion. Trina got sprayed once? Good, now it's going to show up on her till the end of the game. Also, she's gonna have a perpetual facial as a bonus.

I think the game would benefit from fewer characters. There's a lot of content but it's spread-out across too many characters and Trina's states that it feels underwhelming. The prince, who is supposed to be the main NTR draw of the game with "Nebel" like gameplay, was the most disappointing. The only part of Nebel I saw in his section was the choice of "Don't call out to Kana / Stay out of it (Trina)" which isn't something most Nebel fans would consider the sauce that made Nebel so popular.

In conclusion, grind, grind, grind and then watch what happened 2 days ago is how I would describe this game. BBQ is peak game-maker and I will support their every release, but my man, this just wasn't it. Looking forward to the (possible) DLC.

Game is soley focused on the girl getting with other people for the sexual content of the game. Not explained via tags or story. Disappointing to have another good looking game be a bait and switch title.
Art is ok, and story leaves a lot on the table. The progression is railroaded pretty hard, andinteractions do not change where you think they would for certain thresholds.
Mission clarity is bad. Hard to follow how you complete things.
Combat system is pretty well developed, and probably the best thing about the game. But doesn't save it

0.603. Another banger from BBQ Lover. Is this game easy to finish with a virgin playthrough? Not at all. Is this game great at slow burn, giving clues and letting the player see the consequences of their actions? Absolutely. The gameplay loop is way easer than in Nebel Geisterjaeger so it should be more accessible. Then again, the story and characters are great as always. I can't wait for the full release!

So it's a demo. If it ever get finish i'll try to take time to edit the review if need be...

What's good: Art for sure, writting seems quite well done even if the translation is still rough over the edge, but i am quite confident in this dev as he proved himself in his former work.

What's bad: The whole gameplay. Let's be real here, as i said i am familiar with this dev work and the gameplay is always a big thing in his game, he trully care about giving a proper playing experience. And for that very reason am even more critical.

So this time what have he been cooking...? Your usual RPG. So yeah it's well refined, much better than your usual RPGM saucy game. But it's still really common and boring. In his former game the gameplay was deeply entangled with the story but this time around, it is not. The gameplay and the story seems completely unrelated.
And last but not least, yeah the fight feature are well done... But the map are so fucking WIDE, it's HUGE, for absolutely no reason. Not only for the dungeon part by the way, even the city is fackin big.

So yeah the game have pretty huge qualities, it definitely deserve more than 2 star as a stand alone, but considering who's doing it, i can't give any more.

Hello! It's me, Illidan! Today i will review this... "Completed" game, as it was tagged before. It's... Very raw product, with some dialogues untranslated and... You cant even progress past 2nd floor of cave! There is really low amount of content for 1.15 gb of space! Eh... I will rate this hgame by these categories : Translation, story, gameplay, hscenes.

Translation 2/5 - I will say it's readable for most of parts. But some dialogues untranslated. Same for status effects. For now, i will leave 2 out of 5, until such problems will be fixed

Story ?/? - I can't say anything about story yet... But for now, i can say that i don't really like how pushy NPCs with harrasment, out of nowhere... Well, i guess it's your average hgame logic. When there will be more story, then i think it can be judged

Gameplay 3/5 - I would say that gameplay here, above average. But because status effects isn't properly translated, which makes you unable to read, what they does. It leaves you practically blind. Because for example, rapier strikes and "Weapon" skill rapier, gives you stacks. They repeatedly attacks enemy on certain conditions. But what kind of conditions, you don't know. Though... It's more translation issues. I will change rating later, if new mechanics will be introduced and status effects will be translated.

Btw... I forgot to mention MP/AP/Stamina thing... You expend them on fights, gathering materials(depending on material, you can lose more or less) and kissing your little sister. Which required you 30 stamina. That's basically all things on what you expend stamina.

Hscenes ?/? - I honestly wanted to put here 1/5, because in second save after downloading. There seems gallery... Here we can see only 4 scenes and they are all harrasments. Maybe i am very lazy or there is not all scenes in gallery. After some time, i will do re-evaluation. But considering that it's from same dev of Squeezing Demon, i have high hopes for hscenes

Conclusion 4?/5 - I can't say anything for sure. This hgame have potential imo, but it's very raw. I don't even think that it deserves v0.25... It's more like 0.10v, due to lack of content. Maybe in the future, it'll be actually a gem, or even a masterpiece! But let's wait for now
