I tried playing the story mode and on night two when you're chased in the office section I can't seem to figure out what I'm supposed to do.
I feel like I'm missing something obvious, but I've tried several things and I just get caught far too quickly.

I recently happened to watch a video documenting all of its misadventures, and based on what one the very first supporters (which is active to this day on the Discord) had to say to the YouTuber in question, the game got "taken down" to neither prey on the supporters (which was beginning to be heavily incentivized by Patreon), neither to succumb to the weird things many or at least a certain fringe of the supporters were always going to ask.
Which since he neither wanted to abuse money in a toxic way, nor wanted to do things he wasn't comfortable with doing, he took the project into the "Shadow Realm", and continues to this day to develop, just far away from the eyes of the public attention.

The supporter in quetion stated the game is still set to be completed and get eventually released, but the potential ETA is unknown to anyone.

P.S. There is also all that question about the censorship because of one character affectionatly calling another "Big Sister", and also the fact that Patreon wanted to also change many other things about the game's content.

So yeah, there was also an heavy censorship reasons behind him taking the project away from the public.
Partially of own will, partially because of foreign factors.

As a person who actually moderates on his discord, MGI has been finished for a while. He has been working on prequels and sequels since then. Chapter 4 was the end of it. We have gotten updates involving these prequels but he doesn't have them on patreon or anything as he doesn't wish to be have patreons anymore. That and patreon(itself not patreons) were attempting to force him to make changes to MGI itself that he wasn't kosher with (they wanted him to cut Ara and a few other girls because they thought they seemed to young).

Personally I think Red is a sample of one of the worst developers in the porn game industry. Fatal Fire are still nice good guys comparing to Red.

If you actually have read any of Red's posts he's made recently he has multiple posts that show a timeline he is working with. Red was very clear with his patreon's even giving a few months of notification about him closing it down, and stated multiple times you are free to cancel your patreon to him. He then went and left the Patreon up for a few months and didn't take any money. The game ended with a cliffhanger but it was on purpose. He then showed stuff he was working on called MGI Stories. A lot of stuff people are getting are from second hand stories that get blown out of proportion from a few guys who just hated Red's attitude because he acts indifferent to everything (which yes is a character flaw of his but it isn't exactly bad). I don't know what Ogre you are talking about btw unless you mean the mod Gonth.

Also I've been on Red's discord longer than almost any people being there prior to the wipe that cost us a lot because people didn't know how to behave and wanted to get him in trouble by posting underage pictures and then reported the server to discord after doing so. Red's a jerk(this comes with being on the internet and people being rude to you constantly) but he isn't evil nor does he intentionally try to scam his userbase. He was there almost every day chatting with people while he was working on MGI. Unlike Fatal Fire who doesn't even do that much.

You're right that Red was more active than FF, but on the other hand, FF is still releasing something...even if it's not the Story mode that everyone wants, but at least something ..well..not much..

Yes night 3 was over a year by now but arcade was like half a year ago.
And what is released isn't really much substance either.
Just a bunch of skins and like 1 new scene.
With the roadblocks being put in place like egregious gameplay loop with lots of grinding (which granted they have made some efforts to mediate that with the 50K starter bonus, achievement handouts, phony wallets and Chill mode among others) as well as having to figure out how to get some of the scenes without at least some kind of hint doesn't make this game worth while in the end; especially when all our work, our save files, gets wiped every every time they roll out a new arcade update as of the last few updates.
Still the money flows.
I was never involved with MGI but I'm sure that this game should be at least on par with them.

1.9 is an outdated version, yes, basically they refurbished some things I guess.
Something along those lines.
All that I know for certain is that they updated the nightguard model.
First save wipe too.
Any saves with versions 1.9 and earlier stay but do not get carried over.

Isn't this from September? As hopeful as I am that they are getting this out by EOY, given their track record it feels unlikely to materialize and we'll go some time longer before any additional updates are given by FF
