Ren'Py - Fashion Business [Ep.4 v10.00 Extra] [DecentMonkey]

I tried this game once before when it was on RPGM, and it was an utter grind fest. Why games in RPGM seem to want to grind you into nothing is something I've never understood, but they do. I remember the whole jail cell sequence with abject disgust that a game would do that to the player. So I hoped with the change to Ren'Py, stuff like that went away.

It didn't. The creator still has the same exact horrible day 3-12 or however long the jail cell sequence is exactly the same. It is still the most wasted sequence I've encountered in a H-game. And as I moved into chapter 2, it didn't get appreciably better. There are still lots of senseless running around to do, but now it's senseless cleaning acts to do, as well as running around trying to get food, into your office, etc. I bailed on the third day playing maid, as I couldn't take it anymore.

The models are decent, but the MC and the original maid seemed to be stuck going from stupid expression to stupid expression on their faces.

Your only choices in game are primarily "I'm a bitch" or "I guess I can be sort of polite/kind", which leaves us with a MC that's not likable.

All in all, I'm sorry I wasted my time on this game again, and I made sure this time to Ignore the thread so I won't forget in the future.

This game started so good with Chapter 1. Due to chapter 1 being an introduction, main protagonist did not get any major scenes but game compensated it by showing very nice and long scenes with other npcs with each other (h-scenes). Chapter 1 also ended in one of the biggest cliff-hangers with ton of potential. Future looked so bright.

Nevertheless, at the time of writing this review it is now the 7th release and game is just a grind fest, with no substantial content. It is true there are ton of picture in images folder but majority of them are the same pictures from different angles and with few changes here and there. Game feels like it did not move forward and that the player just grinds endlessly to get a single scene.

For insult to injury there are even less hardcore h-scenes in second chapter of the game compared to first. I have pretty much lost interest in this game, will most likely check it out if it continues to chapter 3 or 4 but this one feels like a bore. It is getting 2 stars just due to chapter 1. Second chapter own its own would have gotten none due to silly grind and wasted potential.

So I really liked this at the start (when it was RPGM) and specifically held off playing it agin for over a year whilst it was converted to Renpy so I could play it and see a nice amount of new content.

The story is a bit 'dumb' but hey I don't mind that. It just takes far to long to move along due to grindy mechanics, who wants a repetitive cleaning simulator?

The Dev is a good 3d modeller some of the best renders around, but he isn't a game designer. IMO he should partner with someone who knows a bit about UX.

Animations are okay, but the use of a moving camera for short looping animations is a terrible idea and some of the model movement is really wooden. Not something I'd normally complain about but some of the scenes have far to many shots and camera angles. I'd imagine that 95% of the devs time is spent on rendering. Maybe he should more time on actual game design!

damn i am so conflicted about this game. i like how you monica is so strong and doesnt do anything at first or even second time but... damn its a bit exhausting to do every scene multiple times to raise teh corruption level...

and in my honest opnion even monica is kinda sexy, i much more prefer melanie and would have liked to play her. i like her face more, her stronger legs more and her bigger tits with bigger nipples more.

is there an update where i can see the progress of the dick scene with melanie? it stoped when she approched him the last time i played this game... so i hope to see more of this scene since i didnt saw anything of her or dick...

and i hoped i get a bit curvier by eating cakes and other stuff with much sugar in it.. but it seems even she doesnt do sport she still keeps the same shape. that would be a hell of an update to either play melanie and fuck dick and her boss, OR get a thiccer monica who fucks her boss.

otherwise idk how long i will play this game cause the mc is visual just a but over average (even her face is cute) and the hole playstyle is really exhausting.

tl;dr: more melanie (own melanie game?), curvier monica (look at melanies body nd nipples!!), more sex scenes, more interactions with other ppl and less repetitive quest/day-work!

A good game with a lot of fucking problems.

Cons:

The impetus for the plot of the game is, I hate to use this word, but it's fucking retarded. Nothing about Monica's detainment makes a lick of sense and it takes a hammer to the head to follow it without having serious questions.

Dev is milking the shit out of this. There's no reason why the "falling path" is progressing so slowly when she can suck dick for 5k a week. That money is going directly to another person, she can't touch it. Her personal money is solely dependent on her whoring herself out (or falafel advertising if you're a lame-o) and yet she can only show her tits for like two dollars? What kind of fucking sense does that make?

It's grindy. Some games are far worse, but it's still unnecessarily grindy. There are quite a few things that could be cleaned up so it's not as bad, for instance it's possible to forget to ask for payment for a thing and then you've fucked your entire following week.

The dev spends far too much time on pointless camera angles (one sex scene, 8 angles! Most of them suck!).

A lot of the animations are terrible. Like, really bad.

One of the characters has a much too large cock which makes any blowjobs with that character, of which there are a few, look stupid since the woman is basically unhinging her jaw to accommodate it. Who likes this? I don't get it.

Episode one has atrocious English. Spelling is fine, but grammatically it's fucking awful. I assume the dev got proof readers because it's greatly improved in Episode two, but still has issues, such as referring to a woman with a masculine pronoun.

The Bitch / Nice thing is so, so inherently flawed. At her worst, Monica is a total cunt, at her best she's a manipulative bitch. She, as written, is incapable of being "nice" since her inner monologue is cunty and backhanded no matter how you've chosen to approach her dialogue options. Part of my issue may be that we just aren't deep enough into the game for there to be real ramifications for her demeanor (apart for some idiotic happy ending where you miss out on the entire game). Time will tell just how worthless this system is. My advice would be to have both good and bad saves in case. Personally, I would've preferred a dominant / submissive type of system, since she appears to be an irredeemable jackass.

Since this is on Patreon, it suggests the future possibility of things that are completely outside of Patreons rules, such as bestiality.

A lot of background items in the world can be clicked on. For certain places, this makes sense, it creates a bit of world building and insight into Monica as a person (she's a narcissistic gold-digger, there's not a lot more you need to establish with that beyond her awful inner monologues), but some times it's laughably unnecessary: "It's a computer monitor, I can't see what it says". WHAT WAS THE FUCKING POINT OF THAT? WHY DID YOU WASTE YOUR TIME WRITING THAT?

I've already slammed the game's plot for being, um, mentally-challenged, but it does get (a bit) better with episode 2, until the Bardie (fuck kind of name is that?) and Betty storyline... which, yeah.... more dumbness.

The fact that the "failing path" (street prostitution) can be done concurrently with the main story line of Monica getting her empire back is... incredibly poor writing. Good writing would be that a total bitch Monica, having burned her bridges, is forced to resort to prostitution just to get by (and perhaps opportunities open up due to this). Again, there might be more of a payoff for this shit later on, but Episode 2, ver. 6, it just hasn't happened yet.


Pros:

Monica is one of the most beautiful characters on this entire site. There are some truly awesome still renders of characters, but sadly they're just poses. A lot of the sex scenes... just don't work for me.

Any female protag corruption games are worth a play in my book. The prostitution angle is even better, but it hasn't been handled very well so far.

There's nothing really gross in the game... apart from rimjobs, which are not my thing, at all, but if that's the "worst" thing, it's still not bad. Sure, there's a bunch of ugly ass men, but given the type of game that this is, one should be used to that. It adds to the "corruption" aspect of it all.

Situations are super hot. Potential situations are hotter.

The idea of her being an illegal immigrant (again, lol) and forced to debase herself just to get by, is interesting. It's too bad it was handled so clumsily.

The allure of future enticing things. You'll encounter greyed out options for things that seem hot, but who knows how long you'll have to wait for them. I both applaud and am sad for patrons of this dev.

Despite all of the time wasted on pointless renders and animations, the monthly updates are pretty solid. His biggest failing is with the falling path.

Honestly, and obviously, I dislike a lot more of the game than I like, but what I do like is what the game may one day become... rather than what it currently is. I do like it, despite its many, many... many.... many flaws. I know three stars means "average-ish", but this an above average game, but, as it currently stands, it is not worth four stars.

In my opinion, this is the best 3d female protagonist game out there at the moment. Renders are great. Story is entertaining. Loads of smut and balanced with the grind. One of the most consistent release schedules and a really diligent developer. This game is a must play.

EDIT: Over a year later and still getting consistent, quality releases. This dev earns his keep more than anyone else in the business. There are a few solid competitors out now, but this game is still top tier.

Curious to see game progress. So far so good. Seems you get more content by being a bitch so for those who are new I suggest embracing the character's true personality. You start to feel sorry for her and want her to win and get revenge.

At the end of episode 1 the bitchy main character Monica actually started to grow on me even though the story is at times ridiculous. Unfortunately in episode 2 the grind and poor UI have become unbearable. Why do these games keep doing that? It was only somewhat bearable with Big Brother and that was probably because it was the first of those type of adult games that i played.

Adult game developers, sexy characters and over the top stories are great but please don't make us a lab rat in a poorly designed Skinner box.

Patiently waiting for falling down path so much! Great writing, sure not best, but overall with characters and picture itself, very good game.
Also, nice and clean mechanics, surely there is some grind, but it all fine since tons of text won't bore you. (If you there for a story of course)

Great renders, main models are sexy, others not so much. Great story so far only problem I find is the repetitiveness, to complete a single task you spend in game days just for a scenes this is one of my main issues with sandbox games. I can only speak for myself that it doesn't matter if game update is short as long as it's good content, don't waste my time clicking the same thing over and over just to move on.

I am all for a 'bitchy boss' getting her 'just rewards' with a role reversal scenario...this was/is the basis for this well, art-directed & story-written game. I find myself stuck in loops often without obvious (or hard searched for) ways out. I love games that seem challenging but offer a clear direction of game play. That is the only reason this masterpiece did not get 5 stars. I enjoy walking the streets and having to give into "creeps" that we snubbed our nose at previously. I strongly believe some over arching story assistance or a in game guide with "hints" based on what mission/part of the game you are at would help the gameplay experience become more fluid and less frustrating. Maybe with a green flashing around the correct locations or ppl to interact with when unsure?

Anyway I cannot wait to see what MC is going to have to deal with next!

Art work is better than many if not most games I have currently played which is a lot.

The plot and story is better than most that's without a doubt. There are some issues with the plot nothing to big that can't be fixed. The initial excuse for her troubles is an example. It would make far more sense for the opponent to want her in his debt than the way they went. Having someone like her in your debt with the power of a fashion magazine would be much more valuable to any political opponent or party especially with the type of control it could have given them over her.

Easiest way to fix this is party member from opposition shows up at jail they and Marcus lay out the position she is in and offer her a fix and she will forever own them. They get the benefit of having the magazine as a political power house in issue they want to address and they get to screw her husband over by turning his wife against him.

Minor personality issue with Main Character. She is smart she has to be to get where she was. No idiot would achieve that level of success and maintain it. So Philip and Steve there is no way she would settle for that low of monetary compensation.
The benefit of going to Philip over Biff isn't large enough to make it worth while there is no real incentive. She is going to be forced into the same situation regardless who she goes with as we said she is smart so she will see that coming. It also isn't less humiliating to go with Philip if anything it is more for her. So that isn't a reason so it leaves money and that is far to low. So makes ZERO sense at all. If she got a full 5K from Philip and 4K from Biff then maybe.
As for Steve she has a full week to make 5K. She also knows a sure fire way to ensure her payment is made right then and there from dealing with Victoria and Biff. There is ZERO chance the moron Steve would pulled that over on her character type. Also if she was going to settle for doing it with some for money she probably would chose to do it first with people she didn't loath as much as she clearly does Steve.

The easiest way to resolve the Steve contradiction is increase the money a lot 50K or more. There are a hell of a lot of issues to over come his appearance vs her's and her dislike for him are two huge ones.

I think if money played a bigger part and had more uses in the game it could generally fix most of these issues. Clothing, housing, start her own business, electronics, computer, pay for a lawyer beside Dick to get her an Identity legal or illegal, She could pay for information, bribes... countless uses.

Also one huge issue. Her identity the government when it sheep dips does a lot of work to create similar identities for people they sheep dip. Truthfully she is pretty much in a perfect spot she could seek revenge without it coming back on her all she needs is a pair of gloves a wig an unbrella and look up how to make medical grade facial prosthetic. She could set these people up for all sorts of crap having it look like they kill each other off, commit crimes and a lot more. She could use the kids computer to access the internet clearly she is able to get access because the porn is up and available online on it. So can't say she is locked out. Even so how hard do you think it would be for her to bribe him, "you can touch my boobs"?

I gave it a 5 so far because I am not sure how apparent these issues are to others. I think they are apparent to me because of my background. Also they are easily fixable and I have to assume since a huge part of the story is about money and that money will have to become more important than it is which should force a number of these issues to be corrected.

Still mostly favorable. Few minor issues I assume will be patched out or the game can't proceed.

Guide a bitchy rich woman though her cushy life and get blindsided by a riches to rags slave training story.

Best:
the renders are nice enough. The models are hot and the MC has a cute face.
Game is bug free

Meh:
ESL dev means the English text has many spelling and grammar errors.
Sounds and voice over is inconsistant. Sometimes they are present, and sometime they are AWOL.

Worst:
Takes about 60 minutes of reading cliched 1% lifestyle fluff plot per each sex or strip scene. Just not a good game to get off on. Also, the kinks are VERY vanilla. I didn't even see a single CP.
Only played 50% of episode 1 because it was too boring to continue.

If I would have to find another title for this game it would be "Good game gone bad".
I really liked the episode 1, even tho there is very little sex scenes the introduction to each characters is smooth and the game looks very polished overall, Monica is a greats main character as well. The progression goes on pretty well in the first episode, until the point where you go to the prison where things starts to fail off.
I am actually not against such a situation reversal, it is a very good idea in the first place. But the way it's handled in the game is a bit too weird. The game until this point is kinda realistic, it's obviously a little bit cliché but the story manage to keeps being credible.

Ans suddenly, you end up in prison and everything goew way too much over the top. You are treated like a slave, you have no clothes, you can not eat and the cop leader is a psychopat who whant to sent you in some kind of ranch where you may get fucked by animals to learn how to be a slut ?

It just goes from one way to another very extreme one without transition and it just doesn't feel right. This ranch "slut training area" should not even be a thing because it remove so much credibility to the story. The threath of the prison itself is already way enough, there was so need for that kind of irrealistic bullshit.

Now, this is not the only issue. From the Episode 2 for whoknow what reason the develloper has decided that this game would become a huge grindfest and a waiste of time.

Just why ? Why do we have to go from the smooth progression of episode 1 to the bullshit of Episode 2 where you have to clean this fucking house everyday, interact with people everyday by having to watch the same fucking scenes over and over again, having to find something to eat everyday, and don't even get me stared on the corruption/prositution path becaus it's just so full of shit: You have to "serve 20 clients" wich means going trough the same fucking scenes 20 times and all you get is 1 little scene where Monica show her boobs.

Like not only this game ask you to grind for no reason, the rewards at the end are just so bad. It just feels like a complete waiste of time instead of having a great time playing this VN, wich could easily be a thing just by removing all theses repetives and pointless tasks.

This game could be great, but Decent Monkey decided that it will be otherwise. yikes.

Most games will flood you with non-stop erotic scenes which, don't get me wrong, is nice, but doesn't really follow reality at all. I think what makes this game so great, apart from the well done CGs, is that there is constant build up to a single scene which is way more immersive, rewarding, and simply hotter than in other games. Also, this game captures the fall of a very unlikable character which only adds to the eroticism. Because, come on, she kind of deserves it.

What can I tell about this game is that, Monica is hot and i love her.
Monica is beautiful, her emotions make her character seems more real,
she is the kind of woman every man (myself included) would like to corrupt.

Note I am just one man with an opinion and others can and should disagree with me from time to time. Now, lets get started.

Note minor spoilers...

Episode 1

• Nice models, with unique looking faces.
• Bodies are the same, with them being DD cup. Main character is fine being busty but others should be small breasted, while others are THICC.
• I like the story in Episode 1. While I am not a fan of the nice/ jerk system but it doesn't detract from the game.
• Deeper the game gets the more gimmicks the author uses. I love the idea of being arrested, but her having EVERYTHING taken away from a legal technicality reads as fake. Then everything using that gimmick doesn't feel right which is kind of everything.
• I love the concept the author creates about being desperate then corruption sets in but the execution falls apart. I just don't think the writing how these things holds up. Example: Even if Monica marriage is annulled which causes her to lose her citizenship. She still owns things in her own right, and when those other things go away she still has things she owns, which is ALOT since she runs a company. Legally none of the plot could happen the way it's written.
• Animations are above average, but they also lack something which makes it amazing. 7/10 on animations. Like they are good.
• Minor issue, author removed the ability to skip text that you haven't read, kind of annoying.

Overall Chapter 1 is 4/5 game. Nice plot twist deep into the game where the corruption starts.

Chapter 2...

• Plot gets even more convoluted than chapter 1. Losing any since of realism which chapter 1 tried to create.
• Characters all become caricatures. Goes full soap opera but doesn't feel like it is intentional.
• Finally some real corruption begins. Nice and slow.
• Game becomes grindy, needing to buy food with no money for example.

Sadly Chapter 2 is 2/5

When both chapters are combined it's at a 3/5. Sexy animations, but plot takes itself seriously and fails to make sense.

Note when more chapters that are added this will most likely slide down to a 2, unless the author self corrects.

EDIT: The game has gotten worse as time has moved on. Things makes even less sense. The creator doesn't help himself with his behavior. Episode 2 at this point is a 1/5 game. I do not recommend supporting this Dev.

First of all the mc model is looking great and having in mind that the vn revolves mostly around her that is great.

Now the story of this novel is at least not a common story of long time no see siblings coming together and slowly progressing from peeking to light sex acts to full sex. Do i like what they do here with this sort of a fall from grace ? For the most part yes , i do think that some parts are over the top mainly her house status in part 2. First part was used as a set up for the second one i do get that , that being said however most of characters didn't exactly get some stellar set up.

Question in a lots of games is do they offer a choice or a illusion of the choice ? So is mc good or bitch ? Like in many games who give you an "option" of going good or bad route good pure route offers bare bones of content compared to corruption route. You do have an option on how some things will play out but a general rule is if u wanna see hot stuff do the bad or corruption route. As i said you do have at least an influence over how most of the scenes play out but main story arc is for the most part linear.

Characters , okay so models are mostly really good there are some really unique and sexy looking. This is a bit of a talk about this vn and a bit about general vn , male characters are almost always identical if you would take 20 novels who show other male characters outside of mc you will find that most of them are the same with some little twerks there and there if even that. I don't have a pc strong enough to do a vn of my own but if i did have one the first thing id like to do is make sure that all of my characters are as unique looking as possible. This isn't always a bad thing , but is more of a bad thing when some models are used in at least 10 out of 15 novels that have male models outside of mc. Personality of characters is mostly one dimensional serving as a plot device to tell a certain story with mc. Most of them will act the way you expect them to , again not a bad thing per say and not every character has to be super developed this isn't GOT for sure but having more of a depth there and there wouldn't hurt either. The thing where this vn lacks a choice or a true choice does affect characters a lot. Simply said this game while offering a pure route isn't meant to be played as such , its core is made for corruption route and this translates to characters. If you wanna go full corruption you will have to go all the way bitch mode or at least bitch mode for the most part. And while yes some characters will stay okay or sympathetic towards mc in part two most will just try to use her one way or another.

Animations in this game for me are top notch one of if not the strong point of this vn. Nothing more to add there except that this novel should be used as a guide on how to do those sex scenes , cause they do make sex look like a sex compared to most games where mc is a two pump chump.

There is a thing i refer to as a gigantism present again in most of vn's sadly. This can and often does go for both male and female models withing the vn. With males its usually dick size and with girls boobs and ass more often so boobs then ass. The thing is this is in some done to a certain "moderation" in others simply blown out of proportions something that is already blown out of proportion. Most of those girls make Kate Upton seam like at best normal sized girl in chest area. In this novel this isn't the case with the girls so far , but every male i seen so far has a 10+ inch sized cock. If you wanna have one character that is like this fine , go for it but having every single one of them being "big" takes out the point if everyone is "big" then is anyone actually big ? Relatively speaking whats so impressive over one big sized cock if every cock in vn is just as big or about just as big?

The last thing i wanna touch is a change from part one to part two. While this novel was always modeled in a sandbox mode this didn't play some big role in first as much as it does in second part. First part for the most part was lineral no real choice on what you are gonna do and where are you gonna go. The second part however goes full sandbox mode. And this is a big minus for me cause i am not, and i can't stress this enough i am not a fan of sandbox vn or games. This is rarely done well in most cases it causes confusion , kills immersion , and adds way too much unnecessary grind. I didn't see a game where i can say that being a sandbox makes it better , makes it stand out and adds to it. Without a proper guide it usually becomes a grind fest and you are gonna miss on a lot of stuff causing you to look for guides and completely killing immersion. For me this is an issue not only withing the real of f95 and vn's but in general.

RATING. To sum it up , my rating would be 3.5/5 but there isn't an option for something like that so i went with 4 instead of 3 simply because i like this vn , i like its potential i like its being different i like what has been done with it for the most part. I wanna think that it will go in a good direction and so far i can't say that i am disappointed if i look at a bigger picture and on vn as a whole. Things that are bringing it down for me are , sandbox again can't stress enough how i hate sandbox in general in this novels. By default i am gonna go with 1 star less if its a fcking sandbox. The other half of a star goes down on the things i mentioned , lack of a real choice between pure route and a corruption route that has game wide implications , lack of creativity with male characters and of course gigantism with male genitalia. All in all i really like this one and i tend to rate and talk only about novels i think highly off. The ones that are worthy of a talk in my opinion. This one is a gem and it can be something really amazing , it already is more then worth the play.

Pros:
Art quality is great.
There's some story.

Cons:
It offers too little compared to what it promises.
Too much grind, especially in part 2 with next to no rewards. Can't believe I spent so much time playing this game and being rewarded with almost nothing. Disappointment is the worst.
There's only one character that is decently developed - the MC and she isn't even involved in sexual scenes. We're offered sex scenes of random undeveloped characters that we don't care about. They're simply fillers.

The game might become decent in a year's time but atm I cannot give it more than 2 stars.

REVIEW UPDATE 4+ STARS
More than 2 years have passed and this game has aged like fine wine. It has accumulated a lot of content, more than you can go through in one day. It has a lot of sexual acts with the main character as well as sidecharacters.

The biggest charm that this game has is that the MC is always reluctant and very rarely (if ever) enjoys her conditions. She may perform dirtiest sexual acts, but still does not become a slut. That's in sharp contrast with multitude of other (super boring) games where a female MC already starts out being a slut or becomes inherently depraved in 5 minutes.

I'd say this game is between 4 and 5 stars. There is room for improvement of controls (like skipping of repeated events, automatic change of clothes, better map movement, better in-game walkthrough). But we are getting there, so I'm giving it 5.

- art 5/5 probably best, quite nice main character , very good quality,
- story 2/5 nothing special, a lot of ridiculous and strange events,
- scenes 2/5 in my opinion boring. doing almost the same on whole days( dance pole, grope while cleaning house, modeling) that kind of scenes or similar are in tons of other games.
- gameplay 1/5 - renpy engine- just clicking (image and animation viever), doing repeatalbe things like kebab working There is option - skip it, but how to rise corruption then? Horrible, game is for playing not for watching.

Someone said" that game is a gem", no, it's only ordinary stone. Nothing original, nothing special, also a lot of pictures but I can count the number of hscenes with MC on the fingers of one hand.
