So, The new Year is about week away. as the title implies.
What is your favorite Hentai game (NSFW) that you enjoyed the most during 2018.
It can be any Hentai game (RPG, Ren'py, VN, Unity, etc...) that was released this year or the years prior, It can even be the most recent updated games. (I.e Content updates to the game got translated.)

The other question is, What games (or new content) are you looking forwards for in 2019?

There were quite a few good ones this year, but the most i enjoyed Where the heart is. What i want from 2019, is less abandoned games and more interesting themes, as incest became quite meh lately, especially your typical "young dumb virgin tries to fuck the family"

Agree especially AWAM (a wife and mother) since they sell the story and not visual erotic scene, why don't they wrote a novel and compete against good erotic novel on the market
i'm a fan of erotic novel i can suggest this book Gena showalter burning dawn, Naked in death, A scrooged Christmas. midtown master and i'm sure they all worth your time and money

Honestly I'm such a fan of both storytelling and art production that there've been a huge variety of great games that updated this year and I've enjoyed a great many of them for various different reasons and in different degrees. However, several have certainly stood out for me.

Depraved Awakening gets the first mention since not only is this a very good story with good artwork, but it also completed this year, so you additionally know for sure it wasn't and cannot be abandoned before a conclusion.

However, DA is only one of a number of games this year that really attempted to push the boundaries of the plots and stories beyond the boring levels of "Horny teenager with ridiculous horsecock attempts to fuck all his relatives" or "Naive teenage girl gets corrupted".

Our Fate certainly deserves a mention, because even while it is a story in which the hero protagonist (MC) has yet to actually get the girl the story focuses on, the storytelling and writing have been notably great.

Retrieving The Past has been a real joy for me, but, for the sake of full disclosure, I'm just starting to be a part of the team assisting with some of the writing and dialogue there. There's a very big and convoluted plot unfolding, some absolutely stunning models and renders, and some delightful moments of humor in 4th wall breaks and references.

The DeLuca Family is a nice change of pace to most games and has a lot of promise, but in part because the game is still in relatively early development, and in part because it has a wide scope/scale, it's actually difficult to really assess whether the characters are well written yet, as scenes are kind of short. The plot as a whole though seems very, very promising, and thus it is still one of the games I've enjoyed the most this year.

Alexandra is really the closest 'rival' to The DeLuca Family in that it obviously covers very similar subject material in an organized crime family. In it's latest version (at time of posting this) it has become more of a VN or Kinetic Novel than a game, as it is mostly linear, but the story is first class and it is very, very enjoyable.

A New Home has been enjoyable for me personally, but that's in part because it's nice to have a game which is more based on UK ideas of story and characters for a change. It's still too early in the development to really say what the eventual story will emerge as, but so far I've enjoyed it.

In games with stories less 'Action/Thriller Movie' appropriate there've been a lot of worthwhile gems too.

TimeStamps is one of the most gorgeously rendered games I've seen. The plot is an ambitious time travel romp, but more like Back To The Future than anything more serious, at least so far. The writing is a bit sketchy though, because while it's fine that the school kids have the vocabulary and thinking of children, when their parents and other adults are indistinguishable with no more mature thoughts or vocabulary, it shows, a lot. The art though does excuse a lot of poor writing talent.

Triangle is what you'd likely call a 'slice of life' game, but the characters are genuinely likable and, so far, I'm really enjoying the simple story well told.

There's a lot of other games that are really good, really enjoyable, but didn't quite make this list (for now). These are the ones that stood out especially as way beyond others for one or more aspects.

1. Majikoi series (Do Love me Seriously). I love these novels and the girls in them. The MC, despite being male, didn't irritate the shit out of me like most male MC's manage to do and there are enough paths and girls to please just about anyone with extra content still coming out for more of the girls.

2. Last Sovereign. I'll admit it, i'm a Sierra Lee fangirl, I love her games. Last Sovereign is a game i've sunk hundreds of hours into. When one of the best characters ever in any game is called Cumdump and is the most adorable succubus of all time you can't help but love the game.

3. Yumina the Ethereal. I think i've played this RPG about 5 times and still love it. There are 3 routes so that's the minimum to see all the endings anyway.

4. Princess Evangile. I like vanilla romance and this and the sequel have it in spades with another pretty decent MC.

5. The Sono series (A Kiss for Petals). There are a lot of games in the series but it's all yuri romance which is my jam being a romantic lesbian. It fits logically see.

6. Grisaia. Again, more than one in the series but the stories are awesome if a little heartbreaking at times.

7. Caliross the shapeshifters legacy. Another RPG and one still in development but I love it. It has enough lesbian content to keep me happy and plenty of ways to complete quests so i'm not forced to fuck anyone I don't want to and that is fantastic.

8. Renryuu Ascension. Yet another RPG, see a pattern, I love RPG's. This has some awesome characters and, like Last Sovereign, has one of the most adorable characters you'll ever see in a game although not called cumdump in this.

9. Daughter of Essence. Would you believe me if I told you it was an RPG? I adore this game. The story is pretty decent and the leading lady can be as slutty as you like or a total dyke like mine.

10. Shuffle series. So far 3 games but more vanilla romance stuff for me to blub over.

1 - EratohoK. Honestly speaking, I was skeptical at first. I mean, up to that point I had never played any text-based game related because I always thought that they couldn't make you "feel" the same when you read a VN and see the actual scenes, what happens in that moment and so on. But after playing it I got hooked so much: the sex system within, the massive amount of things that you can do inside even though It's just a simple text game only, everything is just so cool. And the replayability of this makes it even better.

2 - Love Love My Buddy (from Megrim). A frickin' game that have a massive amount of content for being just a simple RPGMaker game. Unfortunately the only thing that you can do to play it is just using some third party programs to extract and translate the text in real time since no one up today bothered too much in making a translation (beside probably the usual partial, which covers only the stats, items and such. Though honestly I didn't even see that around the internet), but after setting everything up you're good to go. Many female "candidates" for you to choose and conquer and then in the end, get one of their ending. And even after finishing the game you can keep playing, though sadly at the current state is pretty pointless. I wish that Megrim would've updated the game a little more or put something after the "main storyline" for each of the heroines (I don't know, maybe some NTR even or anything. Were planned, but never fully implemented), or maybe the fact that you could've built your own harem with every other heroine (since iirc, after choosing one you're pretty much locked with the others and thus, you can't do anything anymore), but it is what it is. Still a good game.

3 - Ochiru Hitozuma (Fallen Wife, Lilith). Oh boy, this one here is a good title in every way possible. I think that this could be (of the translated game from Lilith) one of the most interesting and awesome made by them. The first that give this game an infinite amount of points is the fact that you play as a shota nonetheless. Don't misunderstand me: I love even some of those with adults where they take the girls away from someone else, but watching/reading a NTR novel with a shota? It's pure gold. You would honestly never expect anything of the sort. I mean, you could with an adult but with a boy/shota? Not in a million of years and this is what makes this awesome. Plus, the second thing is the fact that some of the scenes are animated

4 - Grisaia series. Unfortunately, I can't really say that much about this since I'm still stuck at the first chapter of the trilogy (and spin-offs, as well as the true trilogy sequel of Phantom Trigger), but I'm positively sure that this is one of the most beautiful VN that I've read and only another one made me cry at the end of the different routes, mostly because of the stories told and the past that all of the heroines have been through (and the adaptation even though cuts most of the content, is still very good nonetheless).

5 - If My Hear Had Wings. There, I said it. Just above I mentioned another VN that made me cry and this is the title of it. Let's just say that MoeNovel it's not really a good publisher di per se and the horrible things that did to this game to make it All-Ages on Steam, some times gave me the simple though of giving up. Wasn't mostly because of the +18 content cutted from it, but for the fact that even a simple kiss was censored. Censored. A fucking kiss? That is the most pure thing in the world? That made no sense at all. But thank god someone decided to make a restoration patch (though not really 100% accurate because some months ago was released another one, much better than the one that I've played long ago but I honestly don't want to play it all over again. I spent something like 40 or 50 hours in it and I don't have anymore all of this time) and I got around to play it, and was worth it. All of it. All of the hours spent in it.

6 - Koisuru Natsu no Last Resort. Another game similar to the above, but made by another one that is called Pulltop (and/or Pulltop Latte, but the devs are the same more or less). This one didn't make me cry mind you, but the theme here even though was so damn simple (spending an holiday on a resort while faking the fact that you were the boyfriend of your senpai and in the end you even get to fall in love with her, within her route) the whole settings was so enjoyable, so good. And the OST too was damn good, to the point that I even went to youtube and put the main title on loop because of it.

7 - Taimanin series (again, Lilith). What you want me to say about this? I mean, by now everyone knows this series and they're well acquainted about it and the amount of rape and tentacles that you can find in it. Honestly speaking, when it comes to tentacles I always skip that determined scene because I just can't stand the fact that a girl (being good or evil) ends up being raped by.. a pair of slimy things that are just that and have no souls because, again, are aliens. Yeah yeah, you can say that it's not like this but for me it is, and even getting pregnant from those are inconceivable for me. I can understand everything, futa and even bestiality when it comes to pregnancy but tentacles? Hell to the no. So aside from this, it was a good series and now seems that Rattman (or however is called it) decided to translate Taimanin ZERO. So let's see what the new year brings, in the end.

8 - Roundscape Adorevia. Even this I take that everyone by now knows what this game is about. Honestly speaking, I never finished this game because of the periodically updates that the devs release every month or so but I'm planning to do that in one way or another. Anyway: various "origins" to choose from, good enough RPG mechanics, story that for what I've read so far it's not that bad and huge amount of content. Sure, the fact that most of the CG's taken were made by lots of different artist might turn off someone out there, but wasn't my case here. Mostly because I enjoyed so far most of them.

9 - Renryuu Ascension. This one here I'm still trying to figure it out how the main story (if there's one, but I take that yes, in fact someone is there) can unfold through the various things that you can do within this RPGMaker game. I'm saying this because after the intro, you're thrown out in managing stuff here and there with an open world (well, not literally like The Witcher and such, but is still awesome) that have lots of places to visit and quests to take, but other than my surely inability in playing this game correctly, it's safe to assume that is a very good title.

10 - Lilith's Throne. This one here is pretty much like EratohoK, meaning that is text-only and you won't see any CG's anytime soon. But the sprites made for some of the NPC's are good enough to keep your attention focused on this, as well as a sex system that is literally beyond this world given how much effort was put inside. You can choose to do lots of things, what fetish give to other and so, so much more. Sure, it's not like Erak in terms of general gameplay since with this, your main objective is to conquer other nations and in the meantime you can choose how to: enslave, corrupt, take away their leader or even kill them iirc, but there are lots of things to do. And the really positive side of this is the fact that is still in development and there are so many other places that needs to be unlocked along the way and so much more NPC's that we have to meet. So I'm expecting lots of good things from this in the near future.

--------------------------------------------------

About what I'm looking forward to play the next year (generally speaking, so may be within this forum or out from here):
- Maggot Baits from MangaGamer. They're so close, yet so far from releasing this title and I'm cursing them so much right now. I want that (iirc) futa-muscle-girl right now. That it's from the bad guys nonethless but I honestly don't care (I mean, the whole title "reeks" of bad guys here and there, so there's really no difference now that I think about it).
- Generally speaking, I'm hoping for a game from Illusion that can be a mix of HS and AA. Having a game with the gameplay of AA where you can go everywhere within the school (but maybe even much more places than that. Every time I hope that, like AG3 in the end that had lots of places to go, but everytime I end up disappointed) and the graphic of HS would be a wonderful thing to play. One can only hope, am I rite?
- And again, I'm hoping that KISS will release the so-called English Custom Maid that they announced months ago (or this summer?), since lots of people were more than favorable for playing such a gem (I might download the second and Order Maid.. but they're so fucking huge at the moment, even with the repack themselves. If then we think that the unpacked game most likely will be 140 GB or more.. goddammit, I can't. I don't have enough space for it). Again, one can only hope.
- And like everyone else, most likely, more awesome VN's translated that are out there who needs, really, a translation.

The three standout games this year for have been:

- Acting lessons, it's melodrama in a good way. It has a great cast in most cases, the only let down for me is Meg, she's just a little meh, Liam in particular is a nice change of pace, a wingman/sidekick that is not 18-20 and is actually a decent guy, not some stilted insular tech support guy or a potential cockblock in waiting. It wins out on characters for me this year.

- Depraved Awakening, porn noir done right, it has a pretty good plot, good characters that have sex scenes that both fit the character and the story (very rare to see both), a good variety of characters both in terms of appearances and personalities (they don't blur together like some or fall into the classic characters a,b and e are sluts, d,c and f are prudes(long/end game characters) ect.)) and most importantly the game works as a whole package, sure it being finished this year helps that a lot but that is also a plus point, you can pick it up today and know that you won't be waiting 6 months for a meaningful update.

- Milf City, say what you want about ICSTOR but this is a major step up on his previous games, he's a long term dev and mos tof us know him by reputation at least. He is correcting many of his major mistakes from previous games with Milf City while keeping the good bits, his protagonist is no longer an infant with a cock longer than his leg for example, niether is he trying to make an eroge VN in RPGM any more (honestly why would you?). Ok, enough bashing previous games, Milf City has perhaps the best Daz renders of any game I've played this year and the same can be said of animations, while this is up for debate and Timestamps is a contender on this as well IMO Milf City takes it, partially because it does visuals at least as well but in a greater variety of positions and with a wider cast, game play, story and believably aside this game is visually absolutely top notch.

Next year i'm looking forward to Midnight paradise(high hopes, perhaps too high to be fair to Lewdlab), the end of Acting lessons and Being a Dik mostly, though there are plenty other WIP games that i'm keeping an eye on like LLTP, the Deluca family(light and zany crime family somehow works) and superpowered(the old warhorse marches on since Baal is a stalwart).
