Mostly because sugarcube/twine is such a bloated mess of code that just appends line after line after line after line after line to each other that leads to a giant convoluted and unsalvageable mess. And well, SS isn't a coder or a webpage dev (which is what is needed for html games). It's why the cheats are done the way they are done, where it's a box that they just go onto a password generator and then copy and paste it into the UI. EllieBreakdown2 doesn't exist? That's because they left an E out from it and it says "ElliBreakdown2" in the code. Those kind of little things are basically the lifespan of the game. They need to go through 75,664 lines of code.holy hell. this game is so broken, it hurts: nothing works if you are principal (looping back to earlier lessons at best, spewing endless messages about missing assets, at worst). hell, even entering the office greets me with
"Error: <<goto>>: passage "EllieBreakdown2" does not exist<<goto"EllieBreakdown2">>"
trying to work? nope, "Error: Clara Staff is not defined"
check other schools? nope, "Error: <<goto>>: passage "School rules" does not exist"
meet with sponsors? stuck, since there is nothing to press to continue.
school programmes? out of frame, and doing NOTHING.
school clubs? not working.
staff control? "Error: Clara Staff is not defined"
human resources? broken.
scheduling? reverts you to previous lesson.
school position? always 5000th.
i get it - game is in development. but why not properly cauterise not working parts?
(Also this is in any means an excuse. Rather, it's a criticism. Dumb people go "Well, Sugarcube looks really easy to make a game with! I'll chop up some real porn videos and make a game, call it a day. Then their game turns into a giantass mess and surprise pikachu! They can't find out whats wrong with it because they open it in vsc or sublime or something else and have no idea wtf they are looking at, so they hope to bury it in new content.)
