2017. I first saw this game in September 2017.

If you actually plan a story and characters, writing is actually way easier than say an average person who may not consider themselves great at writing may think.
I don't think a linear story was ever planned. FA was intended to be a sandbox game, with a beginning, an end and lots of sex in the middle. CS described some of the updates as optional content. These were supposed to be side quests.

The sandbox concept proved to be too ambitious, so the scope shrank and shrank until here we are, but I suspect that CS has still not written a complete outline of the story. Instead, he writes episodes of an ongoing series and makes it up as he goes.

I didn't detect a plot the last time I played it, just a general direction of travel. No wonder he struggles. He has one character with a goal, but no way of actively working towards that goal, so she just works another shift at the bar and nothing really happens. Or goes on a night out and nothing really happens. CS tries and tries to liven it up and can't, because there's nothing for his protagonist to do, no antagonist, no conflict, no drama, nothing.

I think he would figure out the problem if he was spending more time on the game. I don't believe for a moment that he is working on it full time. I reckon the Patreon income was nice, but not enough, so he went back to a real job and now works on FA for maybe a couple hours a week, probably wrestling with writer's block for most of that time.

The game is vaporware. It will continue in development for years and never be finished. CS will eventually get bored of posting updates and disappear. Before this game is done, a religious dictatorship will take over Thailand and shut down the Bangkok sex industry forever.

He's telling a story about someone going under-cover in a Bangkok titty bar and he's struggling to come up with erotic situations to put his character in. That's next-level creative brilliance right there.
You make it sound like an easy task to write about a women who goes to work at a titty bar where she only wears panties and high heels, getting groped and lusted after by customers, seeing how some girls do a little extra work for cash, equally getting comments by customers to do the same only to slowly get wrapped up in it and finally actually doing it.
On top of that the boss of the bar has had "sex" with her in the interview pumping her full with his semen and then during work hours groping and eventually doing more with her.
And by becoming a good worker at the bar she ultimately catches the eyes of the owners of the entire business getting into even bigger trouble etc.

Totally weird. I can't imagine that.

I once said that Bangkok will drown into the sea before it finishes, or was it back when the entire idea of getting to Bangkok was a far off dream?

It's been so long.

It is still a far-off dream, technically. It's not like this, let's call a spade a spade, sorry excuse for a developer could possibly figure out a way to reconnect "before Bangkok" and "in Bangkok" before the next ice age. There'll never be an actual "getting to Bangkok".

I'm fine working my ass off on the next episode. Report to follow shortly (and sorry for the lack of transparency @PrettyBoi99 and MFW Safety always off, I just felt like there's nothing really to say except I'm still working on it). I've nearly finished the writing draft for the episode – should be done in the next couple of days, but then we still need more time to get it into shape for a release – some placeholder text needs to be worked in, the new art needs to be coded in, I need to tweak some scenes so they work if you choose to do the Big Mac date before the White Russian date (or do only one, or neither), etc.

I'm so sorry it's taking so long, guys, I'm so stressed about it you wouldn't believe it, this episode has just taken way too long for what it is. Anyway I'm fine and still working my ass off, actual report to follow.

Looks like some solid and well founded bitching in the discord prompted this update. It won't get crush to change his habits but I'm still holding out hope that he farms out the writing again. I know he tried it before and the patrons screeched to high hell, but maybe this update that has been 6 month in the works, self-desribed as "slimed down" to make development faster, and seemingly does not advance the main plot at all, will be the straw that breaks the collective camel's back.

Probably not, but one can dream. I love the premise, and just want the MC to become a bar girl, but fully believe that crush is incpabable of getting to that point.

Don't worry, Crush, people still backing you would surely believe you if you not only told them you totally worked super hard for extra long hours on not fucking getting anything done, but also informed them the sky was green, a rainbow farting pig flew by the window, South Park aliens decided to buttprobe you to save Scientology, and Microsoft Outlook is the most flawless, standards compatible piece of software ever designed.

That was my reaction. Six months of "full time" and he hasn't even completed the draft of an episode that he already announced as being smaller than expected. At this point this has to be an experiment, right? How much, or rather, how little can he get away with? It is just amazing.
That's up to his patrons. His support has been slowly decreasing but it's still there

He’ll get away with all of it. Every time he delays or misses a deadline, his discord fanbase just doubles down on their devotion. You can’t reason with them or even broach the thought that maybe this has spiraled out of control, because they all rush to defend their savior.
And each time he misses a date, their only response is, “Take your time” Textbook enabling.

Common guys, don't think so bad about Crush. My presumption, to speed up the process of writing, he personally visited Thailand, made gender transition, and now tries to become a bar girl. And once he succeeded, we will receive final game, with "spiced up scenes" within a month. P.S. it also explains why he writes reports once in a few months)

You know, I just realized we should be happy Crush is still wasting his talent on porn fiction. With his ability to get devout idiots to praise absolutely any stupid crap he does (or mostly doesn't) deliver, if he ever shifts gears to pseudo-spiritual mumbo-jumbo, he'll be bigger than L. Ron Hubbard.

Getting so much money basically for free, doing no work and milking "patrons" that have forgotten they're even paying something per month. Don't you just love the world we live in?
At the same time people who work their butts off barely scrape by in life, while frauds like the one in this thread are buying mansions and cars, laughing their asses off.

Keep on enabling them, it's a fascinating watch.

Hang on... is that true? Who did he farm it out to and what were the objections?

"Some dialogue dead ends and placeholder text need to be fixed"

6 months and there is still placeholder/dead end text. I expect that if the update was 1/2 months.

It's like he's writing a full course load of work in a university. Prepping lectures 3 times a week, every week, along with writing up exams and questions... marking assignments. I bet 6 months of what university prof does is like 100 times more work.
