I don't have a oculus quest.
I do however have a Meta Quest 2 which i haven't used for at least a year, but would it work on that?
Never could figure out how to connect it to my phone because of a known bug that causes pairing issues.

Use SteamLink on your Quest, it's free. There's also a similar paid app called Virtual Desktop.
Although I don't know about the quality of them.

You can use alvr , Steam link or virtual desktop. Make your pick as all 3 of them worked in my testing.

There is rift cat also but I don't recommend them as they have annoying drm.... and it isn't stable.

VD has a lot of features if you play other games on pc though. Definitely a worthy pick but the other two are also excellent with steamvr and VD being the easiest ones to setup for casual users.

Steam Link and ALVR are free if that is a concern. By the way, meta quest and oculus quest brand are the same makers, different branding....

I don't have a Quest, I have an Index, so I'm just asking out of genuine curiosity: do you need Steam Link or Virtual Desktop to play both wired and wireless PCVR, or just wireless? I was under the impression that playing tethered via USB-C didn't need an app to make SteamVR recognize a Quest headset.
