For me it was science class, Bill-Nye the Science Guy and How It's Made episodes.

What about you?

90s - some early 2000s kids should be able to relate.

I was eleven the last time I watched a movie on one of those big AV units, nearly out of elementary school.

We had to watch this educational PSA about not sneaking into electrical substations to play on the equipment because our school was relatively close to one and some kid died the month before for doing it.
This was in the early 2000s but the tape itself was made in like '93 and starred some of the worst Canadian kids acting I had ever seen. I remember one of the kids in class cried during it and had to leave the room.

Honestly what's more interesting is what happened before the film.
The only reason why I remembered watching that film (something that happened nearly 2 decades ago) is because before we watched it, our teacher made us go to the AV room and wait for her. Whilst we were in there I vividly remember one of the kids found a pair of swanky ladies underwear on one of the cabinets in the AV room and another kid, the class clown (Jack I think he was called), started slingshotting them around the room. I remember some of the girls in my class shrieking at how gross they were and commenting on them being stained.

I distinctly remember thinking "why are there women's underwear in the AV room? I guess the teacher was changing in here" and then continued on with my day.

But that image of those panties stuck in my head from that day and it wasn't until like 10 years later it clicked and I realised - oh the teachers were probably fucking in the AV room after school.

I can't remember the names or faces of like 90% of the people I went to school with, but I remember those panties (and by extension that movie)
Man, we live in a wacky world.

My band teacher wheeled one in to watch the Challenger space shuttle launch that had a teacher on board. Then it blew up.

I don't remember many of them, but we watched wizard of oz at one point because a dying teacher (cancer) loved the book and wanted us to watch the original in class, since many kids hadn't see it. This was like 5th or 6th grade. I also vaguely remember watching a couple of episodes of The Magic School Bus at some point.

I also recall a certain event in which my English teacher, around 7th grade, was hungover/sick/upset and simply couldn't be bothered to teach class. She decided to play whatever movie she had in her car at the time. We spent a week watching this movie, but because I missed the last day the movie played I never got to see the ending. Shame, I remember really liking the movie. Never saw it again, even though I want too. Sadly, too much time has passed that I don't remember enough to track it down.

Also, a fun side note. This same teacher was young, likely hadn't been a teacher very long. Perhaps 28 at the oldest. She was also athletic, working as a volleyball coach for the middle school girls. Little me going through puberty spent many evenings skipping homework to fantasize about her. A couple of years later a rumor began to spread that she was having an affair with a male coach so she resigned. Dunno what happened afterwards.

90s. High school. Romeo and Juliet. No, not the 2013 one, or the DeCaprio one. The 1968 movie with 15 year old Olivia Hussey as Juliet. There was some titties shown. It was a different time, bros.
