I don't really like just having the videos ripped from the games, but to each their own. I'm here for the gameplay (Well not JUST the gameplay obviously, I mean I like adult games lol)

Indeed, I agree with you. I myself think that story is most important part of VN and lately instead of playing meh VNs with idiotic plot I started to chat/roleplay with AI in SillyTavern, using advanced LLMs like Deepseek R1 and ClaudeSonnet 3.7. Those let me create play and modify my own story, with multiple characters. Yes, there is no visual part (though local AI models develop incredibly fast and I think it's possible to generate pictures of current scene) but level of interactivity and immersion is incredible.

But people want to see videos, so who am I to forbid them to do so

won't happen with any of american commercial AI models, they are all heavily censored and closed-source. Only China saves us all the time: DeepSeek, Flux, Wan and many other amazing open-source models that often not censored from the begining or can be finetuned. With these tools VNs development speed can be increased by orders of magnitude
