But even then he hasn't ruled the game out yet, a planned break of a year and then re-assess afterward. An average dev might abandon their porny side project when they have a main project that is now making enough money, but the average dev doesn't have an obsession with a one armed elf girl like this one does.

For people wondering, I've been working on a project that's less heavy. This world/project isn't abandoned, but it will take me some time to get back to it. For those who want to see some of what this other project looks like, you can visit my twitter.

Sounds to me like abandoned until further notice, I won't hold my breathe. But good luck.

the word you're looking for is "hiatus"
I think some of us just feel it's a shame that he's starting new things when we're waiting for this even looking forward to it.
I understand that he's struggling in some ways but "I've been working on a project that's less heavy." and then starting a new project to me at least comes off slightly ingenuine about some of his older comments...

I have been away from F95 for a couple of years. I just spent the last week going through the pages looking for this project one by one by one. I'm glad its still possible to see it developed further. Just figured you should know you've got fans who look forward to you finishing this one by adding my voice.

i really hope this is continued and isn't lost with 100s of abandoned games on here
I don't have high hopes. The dev has a bit of the "needy artist" vibe, and those guys tend to see their work as art and not a business, so they are quick to flake when it stops being fun.

How do you get this vibe out of them?
Well, he is right that I'm more inclined to see it as art than business, but he is wrong on a few details. First: I worked on this project for 4 and a half years, and it got very tough to work on it just 6 months in, had I been "quick" to flake it, I wouldn't have pushed myself other 4 years to work on this. I gave this project every amount of effort I could bring myself to do even though it was quite painful (not because I lost the love of the project but for novice mistakes that made progress quite painful). Second, the project is on hiatus but not forgotten, I do intend to bring it back eventually, in some shape or another, and my current project (I'm working on it after learning from the mistakes made on this one so it's much more doable), is connected to this one. Alter versions of the protagonists return (Fey as a side character though, for now). I know I can't make everyone happy and actions speak louder than words, but this is far from over. 1765551660051.png 1765551704089.png

I haven't been following the dev long enough to sus out their vibe, but at least the part of an artist obsessed with a character seems to be solid. Also they are openly still developing something, so chances are we'll get more of the crippled elf in the future.
Also i just saw that the demo of their other project is out.
