The past few days, I found and tried some programs to convert flat 2D images/videos to 3D/VR SBS images/videos.
They use machine learning (ML/AI).
They have issues with visual artifacts, but are pretty impressive.
Seems like a great way to bridge flat 2D media content to VR content.

Owl3D

They seem to have a partnership with the company Looking Glass, they make digital 3D hologram picture frames.

There are some user uploads on youtube for Owl3D.

I've made a Colab notebook of iw3 for those who don't want to do processing on their own computer or do not have a computer powerful enough to process videos in a timely manner. This notebook supports both videos and bulk image conversion and should be just as easy to use as the GUI.

thanks for sharing this tool is really great! one question, for some reason the GUI doesnt work for setting variable values as it gives an error when trying to convert video. The workaround i found was replacing the variable names in the command line with the real values.

If you can tell me which particular variables are causing the errors, I can get it fixed. There's a high chance that things were changed, since after all iw3 is a rapidly evolving program.

EDIT: When using the GUI, you MUST press the play button next to "Parameter Setup" so that the values are actually saved to the variables. But if it still doesn't work, you can manually edit the "Run the conversion" command to replace the variables, like CVDAM had done.
