Yeah, some of the minigames are sometimes not really mini. The crab battling thingie in Book 2 was nothing but a quirky side thingie for the hell of it, only to turn into a way too big game in Book 3. Hell, I wasted over an hour in there for the hell of it. The moneymaking minigames in Book 3 were pretty neat, as there's been story callbacks as to why running scams to even make money to start out would be needed. However, in book 4 it starts to go out of control: The match 3 game is tideous and too unrewarding for the amount of time invested. The Probending game is okay in theory, but its execution deserves execution, given its horrendous control scheme (which I honestly have little problems with, rolling back works there)im of two minds, on one hand, i really dislike "press space to move foward" games, games are interactive media, and having to put SOME work on geting to the goods make it more fun/worth the experience. on the other, i really dislike minigames that are there just to waste time.
give me the training sessions, the combat missions and the whole relationship buildup. but please drop the cards, crabs and coin flips. we dont want things that are there without a good reason(as in, not there to point and say "look what our coder was able to do in half an hour!!").
