Ren'Py - Four Elements Trainer [v1.1.2b] [Mity]

Absolute nostalgia. My first. Kind of like the show, pretty much perfect before Korra. Great replay value, rewarding scenes and pacing, good writing. Simple in all the ways that games of this kind from this era were, but it doesn't lose anything because of that. Feels right. Universally enjoyable, no forced or memorable weird fetish content (except the Jinora stuff later). The Korra parts just kind of bring it down. Felt like there was less focus, more of a cash grab, trying to deal with being responsible to so many fans. Still one of the best.

I've tried so many times to enjoy this because many people seemed to get something out of it, but I can't. I got about as far as book four before I got fed up with this game and stopped.

Story
You're the Avatar after Korra dies, and you suck. But you're told by the Painted Lady that the Spirit World will converge with the regular world and that you need to master the four elements and take over the bodies of others while you train a particular element. Book 1 is Water in the Southern Water Tribe as Aang. Book 2 is Fire in the Fire Kingdom as Prince Zuko, Book 3 is Earth in Ba Sing Se as Aang, and Book 4 is Air in multiple locations as some beginner Airbender, but you at the very beginning. Books 1 and 2 are fine. It starts in Book 3, where the game really bloats with dialogue, and then Book 4 becomes unbearable.

Writing
There are moments in books 2 and 3 with genuinely good scenes (at least in the love path). However, we get awful humor between those short moments where we get good writing. Nothing in this game is remotely funny. It's a bad mix of meta-humor and the "MC is horny" humor. If the game could stop with the humor and not click 10 times to get through some dumb joke, maybe it wouldn't feel like it takes eighty years.

Gameplay
When you're not bogged down with terrible humor, you're still just clicking away until you're told or hinted at where to go next. Unfortunately, if you want to get to only the sex scenes, you're gonna need to use a walkthrough or go back to figure out where you need to go next. If you're trying to go through this game without cheating, you will be in for a grind without a walkthrough. If you use the guides provided for books 1 and 2 and another one for book 3, you'll be fine, but there's no complete walkthrough for book 4 (the love path), so you'll have to figure things out independently. Most of the gameplay involves bouncing back and forth between locations for a fetch quest or moving onto the next day to move the story.

Each book has some gameplay mechanic or differing minigames to spice things up, but they are all lazily implemented to lengthen the time you spend. Most of them are for money, so you can cheat your way and avoid them, but sometimes you're forced to do them to move the story along, and some of them require you to memorize so you can't skip to make them go faster.

Sex Scenes/Content
There's a lot of fetish content, so if you've got fetishes, the game delivers. There are foot fetishes, piss scenes, lesbians, lesbians (Korra and Asami are bisexual, so I'm not talking about them) having sex with the protagonist, milfs, gilfs, etc. I only got to the middle(?) of book 4, so I might be missing more fetish content. As for me, I can't say that I enjoyed the scenes; some are "animated," but along with it comes some cringe dialogue, especially from the protagonist.

Conclusion
I'm not giving it a one-star rating because Mity put effort into this game, people enjoy it, and it's completed (roughly, just the epilogue stuff for the slave route needs to be completed). Unfortunately, the game is hampered by a bunch of terrible dialogue, and the attempts to "reward" the tedium were not worth it.

Crab Battle!

I remember playing this during one of it's first updates a long time ago, so I decided to replay the whole thing recently.

To get it out of the way, if you like porn for the Avatar universe (fuck off james cameron) then this will have all you want. Whether you want to rizz up the characters you love or break the ones you don't, the options up for you. There's a nice deluge of scenes and it doesn't feel shallow on the porn part.

The other great part is...the writing is super fun.
Don't get me wrong, there's parts of the game which are grindy and they could be cut out.
But the whole story is written with a sort of tongue in cheek style that cracked me up often. And I was genuinely invested on where they were going to go with the characters in each route.

It's a old one, but it's a goodie!

In short, a classic rated RenPy title with decent lewd CGI of ATLA/LOK characters, albeit with grindy gameplay and sometimes boring reading to get to H-content.

Praise has to be given for Mity's continuous updates to the project. A lot of work has gone into providing content for everyone which is great.

Mity consistently provides show-fitting art for the characters of the ATLA setting. Additionally, the actual amount of content you get from going through each path in Four Elements Trainer (FET) is high in quantity.

A noticeable downside is quality of writing and gameplay. While writing can be checked off to an extent for horny RenPy games, FET has the same problems as every "trainer" genre game of grinding and player distractors.

Characters are only basically attributed to their "story selves", and arguably blend together as a gray-matter form for you to squeeze hentai out of.

Sometimes Mity hits on comedy but overall, nearly every piece of dialogue other than H-dialogue (if you're into it) and important objective info is skippable.

Gameplay is often just a patience game. Fortunately it flows relatively well especially compared to slower RenPy titles. Press a thing to get a thing to buy a thing to unlock a thing, or something worse like the spinners in Korra's route. Or, hilariously, Mity's use of the shop owner in Korra's route which gives hints to a player by directly saying "wait for me to slowly get to the edge of the screen, then get your hint". I did laugh at that.

CGI and artwork is decent. Mity draws the characters well and mostly in-style. Expressions and animations can make scenes visually interesting. H-artwork does its job though is a little underwhelming with awkward frame-by-frame animation instead of anything smooth. I did see someone post that Mity always draws dicks really thin and now I can't unsee it. Pity.

Conclusion
Four Elements Trainer is probably worth your time if you're hungry for content regarding the ATLA girls, but overall as an H-game mostly shines due to artwork and niche. Skip dialogue, cheat a bit. A recommendable 3/5 for those into the setting.

One of the best and still getting better. Amazing to still see updates after all this time. The art is accurate and brings you into a world you already know and love and the story is compelling enough to keep playing. There are a few paths and the some of the arcs including pregnancy are avoidable.

A staple. A must play if you haven't. The fact it's been 8 years and is still getting regular updates is sorta mind blowing. It also has a fucked amount of content and isn't the type of game you'll beat in a single session unless you read zero dialogue and know exactly what to do.

My only mild complaint is maybe that each of the 4 stories feel quite different in mechanics and goals, but that may just have to do with the dev wanting to explore new things they learned to implement over time.

Time for a special review since this one of my favorites and probably one of the best h-games out there:

Anal content: The game its a mix of most common fetishes and has a lot of anal content, with smooth animation and hot ones.

This game is basically a visual novel in Renpy with some minigames (some being more fun than others), and its incredible see the evolution from Book 1 to Book 4.

The story is surprising good (with some downside by the time travel\swap body dynamic being more or less well done), the MC its a very funny guy and most of the characters the dev implemented well their personalities if they were really horny, the plot is enganging and I found myself laughing a lot through the game.

The graphics for the map are nice but the characters really shines, Mity captured the Avatar art style masterfully and if you put the show and the frames from this game side by side its very similar.

The h-scenes are good with a lot of varietie, being the main fetishes blowjobs, sex and anal I think, but there is footjobs, boobjobs, handjobs and other thins for example. Its a complete package.

The game has 2 routes for each book, one being the Love route and other the Slave:
- The love route has more story, its longer and enganging, I found more compelling and sweet;
- The slave route has more sex and degratation, its shorter and dark, some actions makes the MC being a tremendous asshole and annoyed me a bit, but other parts are good and very funny in this route.

Book 1 and 3 doesnt have so much difference between routes, but book 2 and 4 has a lot of difference in story wise (specially 4).

And the musics are very good too, I liked very much the tavern one and the air island. Its incredible a porn game having a great soundtrack and a Baldur Gate 3 having a mediocre soundtrack hahaha

Shady is bro, awesome guy.

The mini games it has a varietie of card games, rpg, combat and even a candy crush like. Overall, is nice for some time but the grind for money are bothersome.

Positives:
- Great art style;
- Compelling story;
- A lot of content;
- Great h-scenes;
- Good musics;
- More than 20 hours of content;

Negatives:
- Some bumps in the story because all the time travel\swap body dynamic, being the saving grace the one in book 4 where you have a body for the MC without being other character and in book 2 slave route where you choose your appearance;
- Some dark actions on slave route;
- Grind mini games for money;

Overall, I say this one of the best game I ever played, being h-game or normal games and I highly recommends.

Good Game. Honestly. Book one is a little rough compared to all other chapters. But it literally only gets better. Has tons of content and scenes and the writing is kinda funny. It's not overly serious or overly unserious. You might label the writing as mid/mediocre/slightly-annoying. The point I make however is that it does it's job and it made me go "Awww" a few times (I did love routes.)
I would absolutely recommend trying it and if you find yourself finishing it, then giving some money to the creators aptreon. It, in my opinion as someone who never pays for porn, is worth it and a good piece of work.

One of the top adult games of all time(imo), and one of my favorites too. I love the characters, the scenario and of course the h-scenes. The art style is great, especially being 2D. A lot of hard work and love has been put into this project and you can tell. If you like the ATLA or TLOK series but wanted something more -wink, wink-, this game game has it.

Really enjoyed the game. It's well written, and you get to meet pretty much every girl from the airbender tv show. The H-scenes are nice as well and you can pick what you do on them. You can expect a very good trainer game, where you develop the affection, submission and exhibitionism of the main girl on each of the books, which give you slight different variations on the dialogue.

The game is so engaging. I even leveled up my crab to max just for fun. The art is so good! I can tell you really like Avatar. Best trainer game I've played so far. Looking forward to more of your works

People before me have written whole fucking essays detailing the problems with this game, I don't see point in repeating after them, it's all true.

I have only one illustrative example: game has about 20 scenes with pissing at different angles, poses and characters, animation. And only 3 scenes with kissing where only 1 is animated... It's a matter of preference, it's very clear... it's clear that for peeing from the screen people put 5 stars and ask for more.

In such moments you are horrified that the movie “Idiocracy” is much more real than it seems.

I was barely able to finish this slag since February. All the stuffiness and stupid inevitable grind kills all the merits of the game. But in fairness, I’ll give 2 stars for variety of scenes and for the book of fire, undoubtedly best part of this game. The developers really need to introduce a cheat mod for the game

Been playing this game for years and it still stands as the peak of cartoon parody titles. For anyone that is a fan of the show, you must play this.
The art is peak quality, it's well animated, and the writing is humorous and lighthearted.
It doesn't get much better than this.

the animations are cool if you put them on auto you see the progression. good selection of characters, good variety, just alot of effort was put into it over the years and i must say... for me to write a review means its actually good...

One of the best parodies I've played. Renders are amazingly similar to the real thing. Storyline is fun and engaging. The "side quests" are fun also. The pacing is good, the first book being the worst one, however still good. Its easy to see how the developers improved "with" the game. Storywise, Renderwise and Worldwise... every thing got better and better as the game progresses. Different routes (love or slave) gives it good replay value.

Easily one of the funniest, sexiest and well made sexy games out there. I constantly come back and play this again and again. One of the all time greats!

To any fans of Avatar, this is by far a must play.

A must play for any Avatar fan. My only complaint is that the story involves some time travel fuckery, but other than that it's a great story where you'll meet returning characters, and there's sex scenes involving every girl in the Avatar series
