I've been solo Nicki all along but if Jun was an option, Nicki would have some serious competition. Sadly, unless it happens later in the game, she's not in the running. She and MC (optionally) had a fling - either loving or corrupt - but it ended before Nicki was back. As far as I know she's still married, she just doesn't have a good relationship with her husband - who is inattentive and gone a lot. So maybe they finally split and she comes back as an option. Neon said he was pleasantly surprised with how popular she's been. But, that's definitely not official and I don't think it's in the cards in the short term. People have been clamoring for more Brittani, Gaby and Carolina for awhile now - and now Guppy is back as well (though plans for her may have changed with the whole itch.io / mastercard ... thing.

Nah, Nicki is still #1 but if Jun had raised her hand as an option during Nicki's 9 month absence (and remained an option throughout the game) Nicki's reappearance might have been too late. At the very least I'd have two saves. I mean she's not an option yet, neither is Carolina - who might get her own save when that's a possibility but it would be good if there were options. Right now, after Nicki, there are lots of options for sex but I don't really see any other solo path/romance options.

Yeah, but there are already enough LI's (maybe even too many?). Some still have so little screen time and development. The more that get added, the less time we spend with the existing ones, and the wait between updates featuring them is already pretty long.

No, but seriously, I only intend to do two seasons. It possible that I do another 10-12 chapters and realize I need a little more room, and if I do, I’ll add it. But the intention is to wrap things up in one more season, and I’m actively keeping that in mind as we move through the plot.

As for the discussion on main/secondary characters.. The main characters are still the ones on the main title screen. Minus Wren, who was supposed to be more prominent, but got back-burnered. But, as I’ve talked about previously, I think it’d be really cool to finish the game and then build in routes for some of the girls that have more story potential.

I know a lot of folks question why I might spend time and effort on a character like Beatriz (Brazilian girl), Dash, or Jun when characters like Gabby, Carolina, Brittani, and Madison have been waiting for content for a while. The blunt answer is that this is a smut game, and sometimes I need to just make sure there’s some action in each chapter. And the easiest way to do that, is to have some characters who don’t need a ton of setup and relationship building, to get to the sex.

For a character like Jun, it’s easy to handwave a relationship into existence while I’m already doing a time-skip, and then use that to drop in some naughty scenes here and there (which are only a couple renders), before adding a more substantial ero scene.

For characters like Dash and Bea, they’re set up as characters who don’t really need much storytelling to explain why they want to have sex with Guy. So, if I want to drop a steamy little scene into a chapter, they’re there.

But I don’t think that kind of thing would really be super satisfying with a character like Madison or Carolina. Even with Brittani, Gabby, and Ashe, their scenes are pretty rushed, and I think it ends up being to the detriment of their character arcs, because they get written off as easy/not relationship material.

Kind of a rough situation to be in! I want to write layered and interesting characters with relationships that realistically build to organic sex scenes. But, I also can’t just forego sex scenes entirely, while I build those relationships.

Part of me agrees, while we obviously don't know what Neon has planned, if he has a plan it's usually a good idea to stick to it. Adding stuff that wasn't planned from the start doesn't necessarily improve something after all.

That said, it will be with very mixed feelings I start playing the final update once that drops.

Perhaps we can hope for an even better game if Neon decides to start a new project after this. The writing has been so good in this one I'd love to see him tackle something else in time.

Another way to look at it is, we are half-through and that half took nearly 3 years to make. I think getting another 3 years of waiting for the game to wrap up will be quite enough.

I'm on this side of the fence with it. Two seasons sounds like more than enough time to climax and wrap things up. It doesn't drag things out and more VNs need the completed tag.

Please don't turn Cassie story in a single sex scene at the very end like so many other games.

Yeah, I can understand not wanted to spend 10 years on a single project - which is what it would likely be if you added even a 3rd season. Sad for what might have been with Jun. It's also bit sad for me though because there probably won't be a ton of Nicki content in S2, because it's not really needed. If you're on a solo path, Guy and Nicki are already an exclusive couple, and all that's needed is for them to continue. Meanwhile, most of the others have a long way to go. Carolina hasn't really started yet, Madison (if there's going to be anything there) hasn't started yet, Brittani - if you're not on a corrupt path, hasn't started yet, Mason has started but there's no real direction to it yet, unless you've made him a pet. Cassie has just arrived and is more problematic now than she was when the first Ch 11 preview came out. Gabby started a little bit, then stopped. Alex definitely hasn't started. Risa has sort of started, but she's a train wreck. Pepper hasn't started - beyond knowing who you are and having an opinion about that. And then there's the whole drugs, porn, blackmail thing to deal with. Viola hasn't started yet, and still doesn't trust Guy.

So by comparison, Nicki can just coast to the finish more or less (although there may still be some blow up with Brent and or other figures from her previous life.) Although whether a wedding ceremony is actually in the cards or not (can't see Neon wanting to do 7-8 different wedding scenes toward the end) - Nicki with a ring on her finger and her head on guys lap watching tv in his old apartment (maybe after a photo shoot) would be a nice finale.
