Working on making it a separate game, which will load persistent variables from a Season One save file. But I need to narrow down exactly which variables will need to make the jump from one season to the next, and that's going to take a little doing. So, I may give up on it if I can't get it sorted out in a timely manner.
Why not transfer them all? Plus, it would be a good opportunity to revisit what variables are in the game.
Plus, it would keep script diggers guessing which ones matter for future updates and which ones don't. :giggle:

Now that would just be trolling. It would be like if, after the jump, Nikki shows up with her other arm tattooed.
That'd be fine with me too - it would mean she wanted to get more tats all on her own, so it'd be her choice. I'd be curious to see what she got, but I wouldn't be upset about it. I'm not the boss of her. (Well technically I am, but I'm not in charge of her body art).

lol all the people that hate Black Eye guy almost makes me want to make it a pfp I love it
I mostly dislike it because it's a common stock asset. So you see the exact same look and bruises on multiple MCs, and at some point it's like that one fucking park or the museum of natural history, something that belongs on porn VN bingo card.

(ok, the park is mostly a "lol, of course" at this point, with how it pops up everywhere)

There's a particular hallway. I don't know how to be more specific than that but it shows up in so many Daz based VNs. A lot of college VNs use it to indicate the dean's office. I think FreshWomen used it for the MC's initial apartment but I haven't played that in a long time so I can't say with certainty.

My point is that I see that hallway everywhere and it feels just as common as the park.

I didn't know the steam release was delayed, I never saw any info about it. Probably a smart move though because we all know what is happening now, and I'd hate for this whole mess to hurt his chances of being on steam so he can earn lots of cash, fame and bitches.

NG isn't some rookie dev who doesn't know how to handle the business side of things, so I'm confident he'll figure something out. Good luck mate, I'm rooting for you

Fingers crossed man. In the meantime, to pass time, imagine Cassie having lesbian sex with all our favourite babes like Nicki.

Okay now I'm horny at the thought of helping her seduce all these beautiful women lol.

Regarding Steam -- I'll still get the game on there, I'm just trying to decide if I want to release it as a fade-to-black style AVN where the nudity is limited to topless scenes, or a mostly-intact version of Friends in Need (i.e. some morally grey options available, full love/romance options available). In either case there'd be a patch available to restore any removed scenes, it'd just need to be hosted off Steam.

Along with this, I'm trying to decide if it just makes more sense, with things going the direction they are, to build a single version of Friends in Need that's bulletproof for all platforms, instead of doing this thing where there's one version of Friends in Need for Steam, one for SubStar, and Friends Indeed on Patreon.

Unfortunately this whole kerfuffle didn't occur before I relaunched Chapter 1, because that would've made my decision a little easier.

In all fairness, I did draw 2/3 of that bruise. It's the stock grey bruise, with a reduced opacity, layered over red and purple for a slightly more natural/fresh looking bruise.

My vote is on one bulletproof version with a patch to unlock all the spicy stuff. Two versions seem like less work overall than maintaining three versions. If someone wants the spicy without the dark, just...don't pick dark choices.

The best way to avoid the pitchfork people is to release Friends Indeed on Steam. If you release Friends in Need it can go unnoticed as many other games, but the possibility of another No Mercy shitshow will be always there.
Steam players will seek your other work and eventually became substars to play the raw version anyways.
Maybe I'm biased because the last thing this game development needs is another version for Steam. Things are going slow already with the remake to add more work to the list.

You really overdid it with the 'bruise'. It looks more like gangrene than a bruise. For starters it's a bit too big for a normal black eye and you have this purple extending from it to almost half the face. With something like that you better run to a doctor. This is what a realistically sized black eye would look like:

 So.... you were going for the full Rocky rather than a punch from a weedy kid :D

I sympathise. It must be a very difficult decision to compromise your intended vision for the sake of censorship. I am currently catching up on WiAB and I had to give up on the stream version and add the uncut download, as the story just didn't make sense. It was confusing in the standard steam format, as so many details were left out.

I have to be honest I'm not a fan of the thought of it being Friends Indeed on steam. But if it's the only way to have it in my library then I'll buy it day one. Steam is really the only way I want to play avns now tbh.

I don't like Steam. I have a few games on there, but would much rather buy things separately and be able to play them without opening Steam.

tbh only reason I like to own my AVN's on Steam is because I am a gamer so I always have Steam open and most of my games aren't AVN's anyways so it's just nice to have to them in 1 location.
I like using Steam for convenience sake but prefer the way GOG handles it.
