Ren'Py - Frozen Past [v0.41] [Leonave]

Having a hard time enjoying this AVN, and it's not because of the Futas (which I actually like). Giving it a 2.5 for the following reasons:

Pros:
+ Good renders with nice environmental touches.
+ Interesting cast of LIs (both female and Futa).
+ A backstory that intrigues, even if it's the old "wake up from a coma" start.
+ The hints system is useful to find out where to go next in the sandbox.

Neutrals:
+/- A hard UI to get used to - especially the text box (had to replace it).
+/- Not quite enough things to do each day - time skipping required.

Cons:
-- Not nearly enough player choice in how to respond to situations.
-- Not much in the way of sex scenes - mostly it's blowjobs everywhere. A few full-on penetration scenes, but for the content vs time, not nearly enough.
---- The MC is FAR too much of a Beta male, who has almost zero spine. He never stands up to people (with a few verbal exceptions towards his sister).

And the biggest con, related to the MC's Beta mindset... He is pushed around, left out in the cold by his family (literally), not supported in any way, spied on, manipulated, had his privacy invaded multiple times, and is treated overall like some pawn in a chess game.

It's thoroughly unenjoyable to have zero player agency to "give him a spine" when dealing with his family. I would have told them to "fuck off" not long into the story when he's told he'll be picked up at the office by his mother/sister, and never was. There isn't enough choice to push back against the abusive attitudes. And then during the "big reveal" at the office, he starts to walk out for good, and seconds later starts professing his love for the family and that he's back on board 100%... I mean... what the fuck?

I don't care who he was before his coma, or what he did. No one deserves to be treated like the piece of meat he is in this AVN. And it's not fun to play as the MC because of it.

It's a 2.5 rating for the renders and intriguing story, but the writing and lack of player agency combined with a total Beta male that drags it down.

this game is one of my favorite games, and I've been playing it for long time it has Great visuals, great character design, I love the scenarios and it has nice story. basically I loved everything about it.

but I wish we can have new patches and update quicker

There are a lot of possible routes for this game to grow into and I hope the author would do so. I love the futa content and hope there will be futa on futa content.
The story is a really good one not unlike the other amnesia games I have played.

I love this game, there's something about the story, the characters that I really like. Fun game to play with nice sex scenes. Speaking about them, the sex scenes are definitely nice but I believe other games sort that better. I don’t know if it’s the graphics or the direction but some sex scenes feel poor.

This is a good game. Even a great game when it comes to its futa content. So much so that I always have to remind myself that the game for some reason gives you the option to avoid it, instead of embracing this side.

They are an important part of the story. So it seems to be an odd option and one I have never thought to actually use.

The scenes and characters are well done and well written. It does use some tropes but not to the overall detriment of the story.

It is more of a fun, often times sweet and wholesome investigation into the MC unknown past and current situation. But there are some more darker sides in there that give you the impression to be playing in a detective noir (neon) story.
So I imagine that those two things can seem to be at odds for some.
The sandbox's character extends to the level that you are allowed to explore more scenes and characters that as of now have seemingly no impact on the main story. So that aspect is very light and refreshingly leaves any potential grind out of the game.

Additionally you will always have a handy to-do list as to what you can do next.

It is not a choose-your-own-story sandbox game. Nor does it feature any incest besides the occasional hint, as of now. And then again we are talking about your childhood friends and tutor, so everything is safe here.

Play this if you wanna experience a well crafted story with loads of sexy ladies and futas who are often written in a refreshingly surprising way for the genre.
What is there is well worth your time. Though currently you'll have to wait quite a bit between updates to a story that feels like it is still at its beginning.

One of the few games like this where I was insterested in the story and the characters. Excellent pacing of the story.

Sex scenes are done very well.

Script could get a spell check but I've seen worse.

Genuinely a good game and definitely worth a play.

Yet another Engrish title with little or no effort to put it through even the most basic grammar or spell checker. The story starts off pretty lame and just keeps rolling along, getting more "pathetic" as it goes. If you're into that sort of thing, more power to you. The writing does improve slightly a little further in, but not much. If your a skimmer, probably be fine, if you like to read the story, good luck!

Also, another game where the weird arse effect of the clothes clinging round boobs in a really weird way. Really off-putting. Models are average, environment pretty meh. Navigations OK to pretty awful, depending on what you're doing.

Anyway, a generous two stars, might be worth revisiting if a whole bunch is re written and the story made more sense.

I hate weak main characters. The main character here is one of the most pathetic people imaginable.

He has no control over his live and just goes along with what others are saying without putting up a fight.

Everyone around him says they can't tell him about his past "for his own safety", AND HE JUST GOES ALONG WITH IT. Barely any push back or anger or anything from him. Just gets pushed around.

The animations are very good though and there is a lot of futa on male content.
The sandbox mode is easy to navigate thanks to the guide.

All in all if you like futa on male, slow stories, and weak mcs, then this game is genuinely perfect. Just not for me

What a great surprise this VN is getting in a box at some point.
The models are really good, the futa universe is great, and the approach is original, as setting an adventure in a near-future world is a good idea. There are, however, a lot of spelling mistakes in the French version, but ultimately it's okay, and the dialogue is nice. There's emotion, and that's good! Bravo! Can't wait to see the rest of this adventure!

so many problem. I can not play, after some click my PC freeze and I cannot do anything except to restart the PC. it is not I am not appreciated the time and energy of the creator, but every time upload game with so many bug

Overall a pretty great game, the characters are cool, the sandbox gameplay is pretty easy to follow with the in game guide. Also there is quite a lot of futa content which I like.
Rachel is what got me into the game and I feel the game is getting better and better with each big update.

Might be my favorite game on this site, it's written so well, the character models are alright, but it's really the writing that makes this so great. In a genre where writing is basically non-existent, it's such a breath of fresh air to play a slow burn like this.

it has excelent writing and interessant characters, animation could be better but are fine, the updates being long and few content are the only sad part about this, main content almost didint advanved in a year, but worth the wait

This is a great game, I just finished the recent update and what I can say is that the content is incredible, the only thing is that I found this update very small, I thought I would play for at least 2 hours but I finished the update in 50 minutes, anyway the content of the update was good but still the content is a little small, but the important thing is that the developer continues to develop the project maintaining the quality and that he tries to release more large updates in the near future, apart from all that, thank you for developing this game.

This is an AVN where futa (shemale, actually) content is the star of the show. Animations start off being kind of meh but fortunately get better as the storyline progresses. Visuals account for the game's strong suit without being anything spectacular.

The storyline however is a joke, as the developer tried to stage a thriller set in the nearby future and failed. I mean, in which world is a kid brought back from the freezer with no memories, and one of his first thoughts is about sex? Or what about the "son" of one of the most powerful CEOs in the world being left to his own devices, potentially being killed, raped or kidnapped? Heck, he's even threatened by the sauna's mistress and he does nothing about it? Really?

Your "sister" must be the most obnoxious character ever in an AVN and your "mother" isn't much better either, her role is more of a nice ornament as she's pretty much irrelevant except for the few times the developer bothers having her involved. If not for Rachel it would make sense for the MC to commit suicide as nobody gives a shit about him anyway and he would be living a hobo life. Given the option I'd kill the family anyway as the story can't get any worse than this.

The sandbox is the usual crap meant to waste your time. As a general rule I'd suggest not to have one unless you want players to be able to find resources (like e.g. money) in a random fashion or it makes sense to have some repeatable events. There's none of that here, hence it's pointless.

Summing up this is an interesting proposal for futa lovers who don't mind the lack of a proper story or having to deal with a big-titted bot and a psycho as your "family".

PS. It's also worth mentioning how appreciative the developer is with positive reviews. Now I know who I wouldn't support even if I had the money for it.

Excellent futa content. Characters are all hot. And the sandbox is good, no grind and all believable. Animations are good as well.

A few cons. The major one, content is simply not enough for a game over 3 years old. To me it feels like a game made about a year ago, seriously you can speed through this game in probably 45 minutes. No incest. Most relations in the game still feel like they are at the beginning steps, again 3 and a half+ year old game, that's not good.

Overall the content is great but there's not a ton of it.

This is a great mystery story with some interesting characters and cute love interests.

His mother Felicity and his sister Emilie (or Ms Short as she prefer to be called) seems to be hiding a lot from proagonist. His sister in particular holds a lot of grudges against him.
It is possible this has to do with what Nath discovered about his past self from 4 years before entering cryostasis: he was a asshole according to others descrption and from what detective Kelly discovered it is possible Nath was a hacker who invaded the servers from his family company. Since his "accident" coincides with this infamous hacker stopping activities.

That being said considering Emilie's action, like sending that criminal to be raped in prison, hardly inspire any confidence about whatever the company Meteora is up too with people like that in positions of leadership.

Plus we still don't know who is the mystery woman in the main menu who likely shot Nath in the past.

Never noticed how fit and tall Rachel was until she was half naked close to Nath and on top of that she is also a hermo (the term for futa in this universe). She ticks a lot of boxes for me.

Uma also thicks a lot of boxes with her crazy and expontaneous way of getting into sexual situations with Nath.


ps: The animations, despite being short, are well done too.

The game is pretty excellent so far. I'm very much enjoying the love interests of the main character, especially rachel. It's nice to see a game go beyond simple sex scenes with it and domination when it comes to futas. A little Love Is All we need! In terms of constructive feedback, it would be really nice if we could access the hints in every environment. It would also be wonderful if we could get a map button instead of having to go out the various doors. It's a small price to pay though, so no stress. I look forward to future updates.

Loved it!! The grammar is definitely a bit clunky, but never to a point where you don't understand what the characters are trying to say. The relationships were a huge + for me. They feel super natural/believable, and despite the slow burn of the story, it feels rewarding to progress with each character. I was initially worried when I saw the sandbox elements, but it's unobtrusive enough to get a pass in my book. Didn't feel grindy and it's not too overloaded with locations/items on the screen to be a slog. Overall, I really enjoyed it and can't wait for updates!

Excellent!!!! loved the story, loved the themes (theres not enough good futa content) great artwork and imagery. Even a bit of music, which was very much appreciated.
