Well here we are at the end of Lute's journey. This is the final chapter of Lute Hende as the main character of Funbag Fantasy. But wait what is this? Who is this new MC? A shipwrecked nobody with a mask stuck on his face who washes on the shores of Hillsland (not-England) and gets thrown into jail? Now where have we seen this before? Hmm.... Well, Waffle tried something "new" with this title, so now Lute has amnesia and also, very conveniently, no one can recognize him as the king of Edelland (not-Germany) since no one can see his face. Thus begins his final adventure.
The story beats however are somewhat the same unfortunately. Lute starts in a precarious situation; there's some low ranking asshole that makes life miserable for him; he meets some scumbags that he eventually befriends and they become his loyal servants; he meets a hot chick and they fall in love; etc. etc. etc. Look, this VN isn't going to win any prizes for originality but if you want moar fantasies with funbags then I guess FFG2 has you covered.
The new girls are pretty good. First of all we have almost best girl and the first that Lute meets, namely a pirate mermaid by the name of Rosalyn. In theory she is exactly my type: innocent, sweet voice, fun, twin-tails, orange hair. I fell for her the moment that I saw her. Unfortunately I do have one major complaint about her, and it's the reason why she still hasn't dethroned Gladys as best girl, namely the fact that the author doesn't do much with her. When you first meet her you get the impression that she is this badass pirate, but in the end this plot point goes nowhere. There are some naval battle scenes somewhere along the line and you'd think that's where she'd get her chance to shine, but nope. She doesn't even participate. What a fucking waste! I am seriously disappointed.
The next chick Lute conquers is Estoria, the princess of Nordland (not-Netherlands). She's a bit more basic I guess. She is bff with Rosalyn and when she first meets Lute she despises him, but obviously stuff happens and she opens up to him in the end (also her legs for him). Not my favorite, but not bad. A bit like Walmart Isis if you ask me but she's fine.
Last but not least we have the BUSTIEST beauty in all of Eurodia, the queen of Iberia (not-Spain) herself, the dark skin goddess Serebria. She is also a witch btw, and can control krakens, which are a vital part of her kingdom's invincible armada. Her husband king is a major asshole who will be the main antagonist for Lute this time around. Of course in the end you get to cuck him and steal Serebria away from him. As for her personality she is also ok. Her looks are by far the most memorable thing about her. Man, there's just something about dark skin waifus that makes my pepe go instanlty hard just when thinking about them.
Speaking of which the H-scenes are exactly the same as in the previous titles. If you like them there you will like them here. If not, well, good thing the story is this engaging. Personally I skipped through most of them.
There are two routes: a normal and a true ending. There are also only a few choices that you can make so you don't really need to even use a walkthrough. Both endings were satisfying.
The graphics, music, sound, and other art assets are all pretty much the same. The interface is, as usual, not my favorite, but it's functional and I don't have any major complaints about it.
Well there you have it, the end of Lute's journey. For me it lasted a couple of years as I took considerable breaks between the titles. I suggest you do the same because otherwise they're going to start feeling repetitive. Now on to Funbag Fantasy 3! Maybe this time the story beats will be a bit different. I hope. (fingers crossed) (but I'm not holding my breath)
Final verdict: as usual four stars; an excellent addition to any coomer's collection. Fans of fantasy literature should not miss this. Add another star if you're a mammary maniac.
Total read time: juuust short of 30 hours, measured with Lutris, though like I said I skipped through most H-scenes. If you plan on sitting through each and every one of them you can easily add another extra 15 hours.
