Ren'Py - Furry Bang Town [0.9.5b] [FBT]

This is a tough one. I'm split on it. On one hand, I wanna give this game like 4 or 5 stars, but on the other, I wanna give it 1 or 2 stars.

I wanna give it 5 stars because I think it has the potential to be that good one day, but only if certain things change and the game keeps improving, but as it is right now, 2 stars is the most I can give it.

So what's the biggest problem? Well, there's two major issues. One can be fixed with time, and one cannot. First, the time fixable one, the game is lacking in content, which at this stage in its development is fine and, like I said, can be fixed with time.

The second thing, which can't be fixed with time, is the game loves to speed run it's own content. So what little content the game does have it blazes through it at record speed. The pace is set to fast, you could say. Story beats blaze by with little thought and h scenes hae one or two lines of dialogue, at best.

This is a major issue because it effects the first problem as well. So even if they add more content, even if they add 5x more content, it's still gonna be an uphill battle if every piece of content they add is only worth 60 seconds of play time. (and that's being generous, since most h scenes don't even last more than 20 seconds for the longer ones.)

This is where the wasted potential comes from, because the game has an amazing foundation. It's solidly built, has a decent story, and it has a great character roster (even better if you like furries), and I'd even add bonus points just for having Judy.

So it kills me to see this game wasting so much of its possible potential. It really is one of the bigger wastes I've seen on this site.

Another major problem, while not as big as the other two, is that the game locks some content behind a paywall, which games like this should NEVER do.

If we're speaking honestly, anyone who wants to support the game will, locked content or not, and anyone who doesn't want to support the game won't, locked content or not, so all the game's doing by locking content is locking off parts of the game that may have been the part that changed someone's mind about supporting.

Say one of the locked pieces of content was so amazing to you and would make you wanna support the game. Well, if it's locked, you'll never find it, so you'll never end up supporting because the thing that maybe could've changed your mind was locked. And if you're already supporting, then it doesn't matter anyway, so it's a lose-lose to have any locked content.

Also, this game, as is, doesn't have enough content or long enough content to be cutting any away for supporters. Its just not a luxury this game can afford.

So, all in all, should you play this game? No. At least, not right now. It just isn't worth it at the moment. The game NEEDS to fix those issues first, but once they do, this game could be an easy 4 or 5 stars.

But until that day, just hold off and spend your time playing something else. Like Bunnycop: On-Duty, if you need a good furry/Judy fix for right now. Plus, it's fully voiced!

Here's a quick pros and cons.

-Judy Hopps (who's worth mentioning outside of furries because of how popular she is in the h comm)
-okay story
-multiple outfits for characters
-nice animated h scenes for AI

Cons:
-really bad pacing, moves too fast
-paywalled content
-really bad/short dialog/dirty talk for h scenes (a killer for any h game, in my opinion)
-very little content
-some futa/gay characters (I mention this because the game's main selling point isn't this stuff, and it doesn't advertise it, so if you go into the game wanting to hang out with Judy or something, you may get side-swiped by the gay and futa characters)


So that's the main review, for now, but I wanna mention something here at the end, but if you just wanted a review, you can skip this part. This last bit is more of the suggestion portion of the review.

So, most, if not all, of the game is AI, which is fine, but anytime I see an AI game, I like to see it go all in on the AI and use AI to its full potential. What do I mean? Well, in this case, I mean the game should add AI voices for the characters.

With AI voice software being on the up and up and better than ever, and with this already being a full AI game, I see no reason for this game not to have AI voices for the characters. Especially since this is also a parody game, so adding voice-accurate AI voices for Judy and the others would be an even bigger bonus compared to AI games that are not parody games.

So this is something they should add down the road, and it's definitely something worth at least considering. Because it only adds to the game and doesn't hurt anything, so no downsides.

The 3 stars is because of depth of content - the more options you get with the characters in updates the higher the stars will go. This game doesn't need more characters, it needs more H scenes with every character.

Everything otherwise about this is great, AI art is decent, sandbox is decent, grind times are fine.

this game's weird. i feel like it's so close to being a decent AI jerk game yet it also feels like the dev has taken every step possible to prevent the game actually becoming that.

the AI part isn't as bad as some other people say, IMO. i've seen WAY worse AI slop on this site it's not even comparable. while the animations are pretty wacky with clear artifacts everywhere, the girls themselves are quite hot and do the job fine. overall, i think AI is heading in a direction where soon we won't really be able to distinguish this from real art or, at the very least, treat it the same as koikatsu games. sure, it looks similar-ish, but it gets the job done, right?

anyways, the game itself is made for a very specific purpose that and is to get you off. cool! every game on this site has its purpose. i don't think that the lack of story in it of itself is deserving of a bad review.

and yet, despite the very clear & basic goal, this game just sucks at it. i don't mind the lack of story but the dialogue, as minimal as it is, is seemingly written by someone who either a: doesn't have a properly working keyboard or b: english is their fifth language. there is such little you have to do to make a game like this work as a fun, fetish-filled fap-game with a plethora of girls and the text is just... i wanted to call it AI generated but, hell, even AI could write hotter shit.

the sandbox itself... i mean, it's okay. it depends on what you like, i guess. each girl is its own minigame. click this, spam that, do this, do that. it's not horrid by nature but, again, it'd be a lot better if there was some decent dialogue to at least excite you a little. but there isn't. to give some merit to the sandbox - it is quite fluid. skipping days is easy, you don't have to click a million times to get to places, etc. this doesn't sound like a lot but i've played so many new releases that.. fail at this? yeah..

aside from what i've said so far... the girls are pretty hot. and there's a good selection of them - anything and everything from creepypasta girl mal0 to vaporeon to MLP, it's nice. i'd even say it's a furry's dream. all of them have a bit of content, but again, it just needs more personality.

i'm giving it 3 stars solely because i genuinely hope the dev listens to feedback and improves stuff. this could easily be a new go-to furry fapgame.

Quick review here, because really there's barely a handful of stuff going on anyway.

The game itself is not good, but there is one major positive which I will touch upon later. The gist of it is this: this isnt so much a coherent game as much as it is a collection of gifs human-centipeded together into this frankenstein of a software masquearading as a game.

Story? As if. The total wordcount of this game would probably not even suffice as an abstract of an actual novel. Its like every character here can barely speak english, struggling as they do to speak a total of one sentence per conversation, two if youre really lucky.

As for the characters, they cant even be described as one dimensional because that'll imply they have a personality at all. They just do things, like how a vending machine dispenses product on cue. To put simply, theyre basically just zombies wearing the skin of better, popular, and extremely copyrighted characters from other IPs.

The artwork is AI, but obviously theyd have to be because the images shift in consistency so aggressively youd notice it a mile away. Not much to say here, except to point out the there are publicly available AI tools that create animations, like real animations, as opposed to what we get here. So perhaps the dev might change it up a bit as tech improves.

I pointed out earlier that there is one positive I can gleam out of this pile of rubble, and that is this; there is an attempt to match the artwork with dialogue. Yes, the artwork is basically subcontracted to an unpaid slave AI tool. Yes, there is no real complex storytelling, worldbuilding or dialogue here. But fuck me, at least the dev leveraged on his use of AI to make it so the characters have more than one pose while talking. I fully appreciate that the dev at least maximizes what he has; there are better developed games that dont even bother, so hats off to that.


Conclusion...

Okay, let's be real for a sec. Expectations cannot be high, and I highly doubt the dev cares given that he has over 500 paid subs which translate to about 2500 dollars a month, at minimum. If you went in here thinking you're gonna get anything more than a greasy piece of scramble eggs, then that's on you, because surely no one sane would think this would be anything better than a series of gifs files from rule 34.

A shame really, because the furry niche is rarely explored and there is an opportunity to fill that void if only the game was better written, or written at all, in this case. A case of small ambitions or simply a souless cashgrab? A question perhaps the dev should ponder on because I seriously think there's a chance to be both ambitious and get a lot more money, as pig princess and FwB (and its sequel) has clearly shown that even mediocre products made with passion can and will be fully appreciated by a section of rabid furry lovers flashing their fat wallets into the air.

I feel like this game is about as textbook as you can get for the recent trend of AI Art Slop. And before I go further, let me just say that even if this game wasn't using AI art, it still would get the same score from me. The AI art is just a symptom of the greater issues with the game.

To begin with, there is no depth to the game in any capacity. You simply talk to characters once or twice in the right place at the right time, then get a simple animation or sex CG. Potentially repeat once or twice more depending on the character, and you're done and move on. These characters have no depth or any personality to speak of.

Not to mention your typical "I know people like sandbox games but I don't know how to justify it" stat and money grinding that are insufferably dull and could easily be removed without the game itself suffering in any capacity. I'll be honest, I feel like it's just trying to get people to sub to the Patreon to get access to the money and stat cheats.

Speaking of, some characters have extra outfits that can be purchased, some of them locked behind Patreon! However, some to most of these outfits change next to nothing about the characters or some of their sex scenes, including some of the ones locked behind the Patreon version.

Once more, none of these are issues that would magically be fixed if the creator commissioned artists instead of using generative AI. In fact, the art, even as AI, is unironically the only mildly redeemable thing about the game. I've seen far worse use of it in other games.

One star overall, one extra for being a rare game to fill a niche for the furry crowd who wants something simple and sexy as opposed to something softer and more romantic. I'd go play something else unless you're just looking for a quick, mindless, dull nut.

Its a great game, with plenty of dialog to go trough diversity of characters something for everyone's taste. The art style is nice and clothing mechanic keeps things fresh giving the player the replayability of the scenes multiple times with something new and the phone that helps to guide you trough your the game is a fantastic addition. Honestly I cant wait to see some more updates on this one, perhaps exploring even some more fetishes in the future such as femdom, futadom, BDSM "Della seems like someone who would be into it especially with the way her hideout looks " threesomes, voyeurism perhaps catching some of our characters in the act before turning it in to a threesome ect.

I really try not to hate on creators using Ai in projects- drawings hard and a lot of people just don't have the resources to get steady comissions.

But like, seriously? this game is 90% Ai by weight. Not even anything half-competent either- it's unedited, pure slop. The writing's bad too, unfortunately. I don't think I've seen a text box with more than a sentence in it.

The game is really good

The AI is not as bad as i thought and i can see the improvements with the animation with the updates.

The characters design are consistency and i don't see many error that destroy my immersion

The game play is just a grind game and the content is not that big right now, but in the future i can see this as excellent furry game in the future.

I love the art style! There are some AI inconsistencies in animations, like missing and reappearing heels. But the overall look is hot and fantastic!

+ Its a true sandbox. Every scene is repeatable or avoidable.
+ Minimal grind, I've unlocked everything in just a few hours.
+ Minimal dialogs. Just a few lines of important text. The best kind of dialogs for an adult game.
+ Some uncommon fetishes already present in this early stage of develpment. (Girls stuck in wall, femboy, cock worship, breasmilk coffee)

- No hints about getting a job or increasing charisma. (work in shop security, buy drinks in the bar)
- Cafe girls look different but talk and act the same way. I guess it can be improved in the future.

Overall I had a great experience playing this game. And also its lightweight, which was a nice surprize. Wish all the good luck to the develper of this gem.

It's a good game. People usually don't like it because it's AI content/images, but I don't see any problems with that.

Tip for the developer... To avoid problems with changing scenarios when creating new scenes with characters, just remove the background when generating the images, leaving only the character in the new position. This way it would be easier, for example, to lock a forest background, but the characters would change (movement, expressions, etc.)... I don't know if I managed to convey what I wanted to say, but it's easier than it seems.
