Game developers, where do you post your devlog?

Patreon flagged an image on my game dev page as "Sexually gratifying", and they said I needed to take it down. So where do you post your NSFW content? I've seen some people post on Subscribe Star. Is there a place for devlogs on here?

I just checked my inbox again and apparently making the images available to paid members only made Patreon happy. I still don't completely trust them... I don't want them to just randomly shut down my page one day.

If you make it available exclusively to paid members, Patreon automatically unlocks it for them. I used to make two posts if one had 'explicit' images: one with just text or a less provocative image, and the real one for paid members

Patreon isn't going to ban you for having nude/NSFW images in a public facing section. They'll just tell you to remove them or to made them exclusive to paid members. You aren't really breaking their ToS/CG in any meaningful way.

While you could get away with posting devlogs here or Twitter, Patreon is likely to be the most central (unless you have a website to do so on.). I personally just post SFW images as previews with my dev logs. Players get a sneak peek and you don't have to spoil who any of the scenes are with with. Haven't had any complaints.

Ok thanks! What about censored images? Is that still an issue on Patreon?

which you would have known had you read their guidelines. if they shut down your page for violating their rules, it's not random just because you didnt bother to read the rules

IIRC, they don't want any nudity. It doesn't matter if it's implied or censored. I've heard people having issues with bikini pictures and such, as well. I don't think you'd get away censored images, imo. For long, at least.

Alright. I can see why people don't like to use Patreon. Do you know if the free tier is okay to post NSFW content? It's not visible to the general public unless they become a member, so seems like they would be more okay with that.

It might, but I'm not a 100% sure there. Never really attempted it.

Is there a place to post demos here? Or you post them somewhere else like Patreon or Steam?

This is not caused by Patreon but by legislation in various countries. Patreon simply tries to avoid being sued by others for giving uncontrolled access to material that is deemed 'age group sensitive' in many countries. By forcing a user to log into a platform, a large amount of possible cases are avoided. Patreon simply follows this approach as users are classified as 'verified' in the widest definition after they create an account and agree to the ToS.
