Well you always have to download the games, the program does not do that.

Some games require you to install the game first, but like 95% of the time it works like this.
  1. Download the game from f95zone (example: Summer with Mia).
  2. Unzip the game.
  3. Search for the game in Game List.

  4. Right click and click the yellow install button (see picture bellow)

  5. Click the "Folder/Archive" button. ("Localize game" is for games you had to install first so use this if you had to install it first, "Single file game" is just what it says)

  6. Locate the game in the explorer and open the executable and wait for the program to move the game.

  7. The game should now appear under your owned tag on the left.
  8. Use the lightning icon to launch the game.

Seem to be having a new issue. Can't set a custom name for the version, it just defaults to whatever the latest version is. The folder it creates is what I set the name to, but what shows up in GL and what registers as the local version is different. Makes installing a game with multiple chapters impossible atm

I've changed my mind, I think it's better if you choose what I will do next:

Saikuya I've added this issue on GitHub.

I am really liking this program but I have a suggestion for future updates. Is it possible to automatically include the descriptions when you add the game? There is room for it under for instance the images! I don't know if it is already available if you login?! I I have not registered yet but I really like what I am seeing! It would be really sweet when that is possible! Keep up the good work :)

See the vote, but i dont really see any of the features really crucial to the main feature set.

Ratings and custom tags is sure useful, but i don't think its the main selling point of the client either.

Focusing on bulk installing and ironing out bugs would be the way to go IMO.

Then again, some of these features have already been started on. Finishing them up might be good.

The 4 options just leaves a meh taste in my mouth sadly.
UNLESS! The `The interface to search for manualy installed games and try to add them in GL. ` option would be bulk installing worded poorly.

Think some clearification is needed.

EDIT:
needs to be re-opened as it was never fixed. Atleast its present in the last client.
This seems to be related directly to the delete option as it adds the version number when you dont delete, but dont add it when you delete the last version.

Yes I think you can call it bulk installing, but I don't think I can do it fully automatic. unless I use clients to calculate the hash of each game and then compare it to the files I should find on the user's computer.

I also think that I should maybe continue optimizing the client instead of adding new features, let me know what you think about it.

PS: if you don't use the last version you won't have any updates, I have included a system to connect to different databases in it and I have switched to a new server today. It's the first of the future domain transfer that I will do in the near future.

I've added an option to the form and you can now vote for more than one option.

yeah, hashes will be tricky for sure. Esp when hashes of the exe and other launchers might be the actual same on different titles from time ot time.
And lets not get into the whole idea of compressing the files on your own or the pre-compressed downloads some have.

Think some tricky regexes and title searching and comparing to the archive/folder name is the way to go really.

How compatible is it with folders and compressed folders? like will it read both a game folder and it's duplicate zip or rar folder as two different things? or will it be able to proritise the latest version and yeet the previous, and on that what about games that store the saves in the game folder and not %appdata% ?

and would I be able to use it with my current alphabetical folder systemt (either having it store in the same manner or simple reading the files to incorperate into it's directory of what I have. Also can you set a custom folder of play these first games, and then play these last. (am quite interested in this neat project)

Also does you app have the entire f95 database of games? or just the ones past a certain date? (saw 6090 games referenced and seems a bit small, since i have over 1500 tabs currently opened (lots of dupes though installed an addon to deal with that issue :S hence my interest in this because that would solve that issue)

Hey, most of the titles should be on there for sure. If there is something missing then report it and it can easily be fixed by the dev.

As for keeping your old folder structure, you can do that too! It was added in the last release.

As for playing with the archived versions of titles, its hard to saw i guess. Don't think too many have played with that side of it yet.

It's a great idea for a program. However, it didn't work well enough for me so I don't think I will be using it right now.
And also it's unfortunate that you didn't create it with .NET, which I think would have encourage more collaboration.

Anyways, good job!

I was thinking about porting it to C# but I'm not familiar enough with it, so it will take me a long time before releasing anything. I have to learn C# (easy for me) and WPF (a bit harder).

Here is what I've done so far, as you can see it supports localization. It's a .NET core project, not sure it was a good idea to start by this version (less support on Stack)

I vote for Python personally :)
and Qt for the UI all the way.

But it all doesn't matter if the sourcecode isn't released on GitHub or something for people to help at all :)
