Game Updates

Hello all I am new to this site and downloading games I’m just wondering how updates work when a new one drops. Is there a file for just the update or just the entire new game? How do I transfer a save over to a new version? Sorry if it’s an ignorant question.

Depends on the game. Some games offer update patches, others don't. If it's Renpy or Unity, you usually don't have to worry about save transfer, but in RPGM you have to do it manually.

Thanks for the info. So for example a game like Being A DIK when the next update drops should I be looking for just a patch file or redownload the newest version? On Mac.

I'm tempted to say that if you need to ask, then download the newest version.
