Seeking Games that would be fun 3ven without sex?

The only game I have played so far that matches this description would be Meltys Quest.

I just installed Renryuu Ascension and it seems like this will fit as well based on the reviews.

Writing and story are pretty important but mainly good, fun gameplay preferably with turn based combat and collecting/crafting/building anything like that.

Any suggestions?

I actually need to get back to that! I love your game so far. I got sidetracked by playing Bell Master and Light of my Life within your game and then proceeding to install and play those games. I am constantly looking for and installing new games, I often don't finish the ones I'm enjoying.

Will get back to it soon and will make sure to leave a review, I'm just at where I learned about the rift thing in the class basement and so far it's 5/5 : )

Thanks so much! I realize I forgot to mention I only play games with android ports or rpgm games which can be played on Android with joiplayer.

They all look like they fit the description, I'll see what I can dig up for Android ports on them I appreciate you taking the time and including f95 links : )

I tried Renryuu and I thought the gameplay was promising but there was no reasonable balancing yet. E.g. you can keep going back to your treasurer and keep raking in taxes, rendering money management irrelevant. There needs to be some kind of time progression system to prevent that, and it shouldn't be real-time.

Ouroboros by Sierra Lee does some really interesting things, narratively speaking, on top of a solid action-jrpg base. I honestly believe that if it weren't a porn game it might have gotten critical acclaim like Braid did.

I almost wish it weren't a porn game, just so that I could recommend it to more people.

It's a very story-focused rpgm game, but that same story creates interesting gameplay decisions. It for one has pretty good turn-based combat with different characters fullfilling different roles. The game also splits up your party regularly so it forces you to learn and utilize every character instead of just relying on a few characters you like best. One of my favourite design decisions in the game is when you get a new party member who's basically a glass canon. She lowers her own defence for more damage and her stronger attacks also cost health to use. Bit of a hard sell if you have other damage dealers. But then the game splits up your party and one group consists of just her, a tank and a healer. So she's the only damage dealer in that group and you are forced to learn how to use her effectively to progress.

But the far more interesting part of the game is how it does choices. You have a fair number of straight-forward choices to make, but it also has a lot more freeform choices. The main one being investments. It basically has a seperate currency you can use to invest into businesses or buy them outright. These give you a return on the investment at set points in the story. But they can also give you other bonuses. Invest into the establishment of an embassy and they will give you political favors down the line. Some investments may not have a very good roi, but can make you more popular with certain factions which helps later. All of these choices add to tons and tons of hidden stats that the game keeps track of which influence the game down the line and often culminate in these big events of war or even just political intrigue.

You will find yourself travelling around with your adventuring party one moment and the next you are part of an embassy to a political summit and you have to influence the various embassadors and make friends and secret deals in order to make sure the decisions that you want to happen get made.

I'd even say the Rance series in general has games that are good as games even without the hentai part.

The Last Sovereign is easily one of the best RPGs I've ever played. The plot and worldbuilding are excellent and the writing in general is more than a bit unique with its "rationalist" ethos. It has rather sophisticated commentary on sex, philosophy, and the genre of adult fantasy JRPG. It also has lots of funny, three-dimensional characters. The game itself is full of content (2+ years continuous dev) and is generally regarded as extremely well balanced (read: difficult).

In fact, the least-good element of the game is the smut, mostly because I like hardcore stuff and this is one of the no rape games. But it's still really good and has at least a hundred CGs.
