Seeking Games/VNs with strong emotional connection

I came to this site seeking story-driven games or visual novels, and after going through many of the recommendations, I discovered two in particular: Acting Lessons and Being a DIK. I've played a lot of story-driven games and loved them, but I think these two (both by the same creator) stand out with the deep emotions elicited by the journey. The tragic lows make you enjoy the highs even more, and I'm searching for games that follow the same ethos.

I don't know if you are still monitoring this topic, but I just finished a playthrough of Leap of Faith. It has moments that hit home hard like Acting Lessons, in my opinion. Well worth at least one playthrough (though there are several paths).
