Seeking Games where you are the npcs/protagonists?

I think I've seen a game like that once but I cant remember it's name.

I'm curious if there are games with concept of being the overworld characters that can attack the protagonist etc.
Not sure how to explain this concept.

When you play as protagonist you can interact with NPC or monsters in some kind of way. I mean what if it was reversed. The protagonist is going through its story and you are the npc that need to stop him or something.
