I don't know nothing about fire emblem, other that it gets mentioned in every other review about the *Meister games.
I can not really fully recommend them, though.
Himegari Dungeon Meister is well-written, but completely evil - rape here, destroy there. Moreover, the translation is MTL, edited over (good) for about the first half of the game, but after that: pure MTL. Worst, the NG+ screen is not translated at all. :-( and it is meant to played 3 times through. (too young, late teen tsundere, young adult)
I still played through once (and some more), because story, characters, interaction, humour, creativity, and also the gameplay (difficult! - also: some few times actually more than one solution.) are of good quality. and it is voiced.
Kamidori Alchemy Meister has a full English translation, good enough that I do not remember any problem with that part.
gameplay is OK, until at some point a very steep UP! in difficulty.
But what got me abandoning it was the insufferably shitty writing. I played/ read into some horribly bad writings, but few stand out, Kamidori one of them. There was never a single minute where I would not want that main character to die. NOW! and any writer involved, too, please.
Amayui Castle Meister I have not yet played myself.
It is thanks to your topic that I discovered that there now is an edited MTL translation. And I am just gonna go optimistic, that it'll be the best one among these 3 games.
