Hello. Long story short, I'm looking for games with good writing, where the MC is a blank slate we can immerse into and preferably choices that matter. I just came back from playing Divine Heel and man, while it was very, very hot, the writing is just so bullshit it's not even remotely amusing.

To give you a couple of examples:
- Depraved Awakening was great, even if I was totally not into the artstyle. It probably has to be the top 1 most memorable game to me in terms of pure plot. I was waiting for City of Broken Dreamers to be complete and it seems it already is, so I'll give it a shoot soon.
- Ripples seemed solid, but I'm up to the latest update. Or the second latest, I forgot, but I'm assuming there simply isn't enough content to bother trying to play it again.
- Projekt Passion, but same as above, I think I'm up to the latest update, I'll wait a few years for it to get much more content and replay it from the beginning.
- Desert Stalker, but same as above, although I last played version 0.15, so I should look into it.
- Even fucking Honey Kingdom, as cliche as the story is. I'm also unironically considering playing Shelter, a furry gay game, since I remember version 21, played all these years ago, quite fondly, as in the world building was great.

For additional context, I'm starved for some good choice-based games. Like, actual games. I've played almost everything Telltale has to offer, I've played ALL the Quantic Dream games and Man of Medan and Little Hope from The Dark Pictures Anthology (but they disappointed me, so I lost interest, I might check out the other two at some point). Life is Strange just never interested me, some lesbian high school drama or whatever. Until Dawn never goes on sale and I'm not paying the full price for it. Disco Elysium and Slay the Princess were kinda nice the first time around, but they didn't captivate me enough to do another playthrough. Suzerain was great, actually lovely. So my last idea is """porn""" games that actually bothered with writing instead of the basic landlady bullshit.

Thanks in advance.

I hate that sometimes my brain farts and i can't remember shit, i am sure i played some goods ones that the choices gave way for very different plots, but cant recall so i will give a generic list from the vndb site searching 3D works with branching plots:

From the list the ones i can personally say are worth looking into are:
Artemis (amazing one)
How to fix the future
Zero End
Broken Promises

others that i didn't play yet but i know that they are well regarded:
Leap of Faith
Race of Life
Become A Rock Star
We Were Just Kids
Long Story Short

i know other ones but are more RPG games that the kinks change the interactions or there are two possible outcomes, like CataclyZm where every quest there is a good and bad possible outcome that variates the plot at some points.

Edit: maybe sorting by tag score would be better for you

Karlsson's Gambit has a ridiculous amount of branching, no idea how they keep track and writed nuanced dialog choices for all those different conditions. Has its own setting and memorable characters/villains even if the models tend to look samey. Highly unpredictable consequences, no two blind playthroughs will be the same.

I will first note, I'm surprised how many "popular" games went under my radar. I checked out Artemis, 426 reviews, with an average of >4,5 stars, like damn. Meanwhile here I am playing some niche game with ~20 reviews. But before I comment on each one, I should have noted I'm also asking for a short description why you liked it.

For your first four recomendations, I'm just disheartened they're not finished. Artemis' cyborg girl looks very nice, even if the overview doesn't sound interesting. Zero End sounds the most promising to me, especially that you recommend if after playing. Artemis has a very nice renders instead of the usual DAZ soulless eyes. Race of life looks bad, but sounds interesting. No comment on the ones you didn't play yet.

No, I did not mean games where you just change the kinks. On another note, I've heard about Dispatch from Ad Hoc, maybe that will satisfy my hunger for choice-based games.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Unfortunately it seems to have the usual soulless eyes from DAZ, but as I said, I'm more interested in choices and their consequences. Thanks, I'll look into it.
