HTML - Gateway [v0.4.2] [Feebs]

One of the best plots and definetely the best management system I've seen in porn games, at least for now. I thought that diversification of resources could be added, but it could make game too complicated for those who wants to play mostly for sex. The only thing I'm missing is possibility to add expeditions to the cicle, with basic functions of course: previously selected NPC and planet with no piggyback or influence. Just resources run.

The thing I extremely appreciate is right panel. Quick travel and especially quick tracker are huge time savers and make game more pleasurable, when I don't have to open phone or computer or whatever to check hints every time I need. I think I haven't seen better UI than the one you've made.

Characters are well written and diversed*. Dialogues are also good and there's some kind of bond between MC and LIs. Characters also progress and not all of them give themself to MC on golden plate, for some of them we need to fight a bit which makes game less boring.
*Game have older, younger (game even offer age transformation later in some cases), busty, skinny, etc., but there are no important Asians. We have Asa Akira and Jade Kush, but there's almost no content with them. That's a small minus for me, but it drowns in a ocean of pluses.

Anyway, hope you'll keep doing what are you doing, because you're doing great job!

Really enjoyed this. Love the ideas behind it, and at times, it's truly great. But there are times when it's just "too much" as well.

The game is a kind of mix between sandbox and management game. The management part has obviously had a ton of work and thought put into it, with some very nice menus, stat displays and systems at play. There's a surprisingly good sci-fi story with some well written dialogue at work too. It's not often a porn game gets me genuinely curious and eager to learn more about the lore and story. There is tonnes of content already in the game and it took me several days to get through the current version.

I'd say my main complaint revolves around pacing vs. grind, and generic characters. The management game is quite a slow grind, and wasn't always that enjoyable as it doesn't necessarily feel all that directly connected to the scenes. I happen to enjoy some grind, but others may not. At the same time, you're bombarded with sex scenes from the start. A bit of an odd complaint, but I feel the games introduced too many girls, too fast.. Between the main cast, various side-girls and their various transformations (a part of the story), there's has to be around 50 girls in here and especially early on, names and faces were just one giant blur in my brain. The sex comes immediately, and keeps on coming (no pun intended). It makes scenes really lack any kind of impact for the most part, and in many scenes I found myself almost bored, clicking next. There's this thing called thrill of the chase, that mostly does not exist here, and any depth or realism to characters is sacrificed to quantity.

I also don't like the heavy emphasis on "checklist" progression over exploration. To unlock scenes, you often need to maneuver girls into specific times and places by assigning them on the job schedule. While the game is good at telling you exactly what to do, this shuffling around just becomes a massively tedious exercise. Consult journal. Open roster. Click girl occuping job and unassign her. Then unassign target girl from current job and into this job. Advance time. Click. Repeat ad nauseum.
Then there's the "side-girls" that only exist in the job-roster, and you have to basically dig them up through what I'd basically classify as a sub menu, to get their scenes.

Also don't really think the balance or incentive to engage with the economy is really there. Like, there's some feedback missing on what you're making as a result of allocations, how much you'd be making if you used someone actually skilled at the job instead and so on. On the note of skilled, I pretty much ignored all the training (with the exceptions of some mandatory scenes) because of how glacial the progression is, and I couldn't really tell if it was doing something anyway.

Still, for anyone in the mood for a game with actual gameplay and lots of content, this is an easy recommendation.

I don't really like the scene progression, the way you make progress in the game feels completely random.

Want to fuck that other girl? No sorry, not possible yet.

There isn't much of a point in making a sandbox game if you can't decide where to focus and the progression of having sex with one or other character is gated behind unknown amount of nonsense.

Besides that, the story can be rather fun, there is a good amount of content and the game is well polished.

overall 3/5, there is nice stuff, but I don't like that it's a grey area between a visual novel and a sandbox in a way that doesn't make sense.

The Gateway starts with our dashing young protagonist at a family dinner. We assign character names and various familial relationships, then he is teleported away and his family is not mentioned again for quite some time. A couple of different strange disembodied voices warn us about various vague threats and then are not mentioned again for quite some time. What we _do_ get is a scene where we literally have to assign Lacy Lennon to research "fancy toilet paper" technology to improve our resource-expensive public toilets that we just had Molly Little build for us.

Overall, the Gateway is an unnecessary "search-for-the-event" interface around some decently-written world-building and well-integrated lewd scenes. There are pretty detailed short-cuts available to find the events needed to advance the various quest-lines and built-in cheats to skip the grind. But really, why not just discard the unnecessary sandbox and grinding all together?

The game uses a wide range of models for the lewds, and some of them are intriguing, but others are uninteresting and put me off from following their quest-lines. While generally technically well-written, the characterization is mostly undifferentiated and unearned hero-worship of our mc cypher. The weirdly extensive family relations are also kind of a put-off. It's not really a 'taboo' anymore when the mc's 2 mom's (?), 3 sisters, 2 aunts, and 2 cousins are all young porn starlets that are desperately trying to fuck him for magic-related reasons. I was interested in the lore and underlying mystery of the mc's male-fantasy-super-powers, but that was doled out sparingly.

This is obviously a mixed review. The game has a decent concept and story-execution, but it is wrapped in unnecessary, unbalanced mechanics that don't really serve the story and are frankly just weird. Our sister, Anna Claire Clouds', story-line won't advance until we've had Lacy Lennon's mom, Vanna Bardot, build her a farm and research the "cute animals" technology? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Update: I thought I was coming up on the end of the current version when I wrote the previous review. Hints suggested quest-lines were wrapping up. Then I pushed on a bit further ... and suddenly the game became literally twice as big, developed some intriguing subplots, locations, and characters, and presented tons more of the well-integrated lewd scenes that are the game's main strength. On the down side, continued proliferation of mostly-forgettable characters and pointless grinding mechanics, and some narrative silliness with the existing characters changing into other forms to match models from different shoots.

And weirdly, through repeated exposure, I, the player, eventually came to actually accept Vanna Bardot as my main confidant and wingman. I was so amused by this that I was inspired to come back and bump my review score up.

Awesome game, well thought through and playable for days. A lot of characters and even sandbox is quite interesting. Main quest is also good, and even though it has some grind to it, the game is still fun.

Personally, one of the best HTML games out there. As other have mentioned, clean UI, built-in walkthrough and replay gallery are already good enough to make this game earn 3-4 stars, but there's also plenty of content, different types of love interests and consistency between charachters and pics/videos used.
Only complaints is that I would add more "extreme" content, at least for some characthers. Other than that, this game is a drug, really well done

I was enjoying the experience well enough (by sandbox game standards), but then the developer decided that I needed to also have another part-time job to deal with because I was having too much fun, I guess? Fine, whatever, I'll fill out the schedule once and be done with it. Wait... they get tired of doing their jobs and I have to keep switching them around to keep them happy? Fuck that. I'm out.

One of the best html/real porn games.
Real porn games are my favorite genre but can suffer from some simple flaws that kill immersion. Gateway does a great job avoiding that for the most part. (Watermarks)
It's clear the media was carefully chosen and some details in the text molded around it for better immersion.
UI is intuitive, has built in fast travel, quest tracker/hints, mouseover tooltips, and other features I'm not thinking of off the dome. Built in cheats and scene gallery.
I enjoy the writing more than most games and find myself actually invested in the story.
I've started going deeper than I intended. The game is great, lots of hot sex, great writing and story. UI is on point as is QoL. I cheated resources so can't speak to that grind.

Has a very interesting storyline. Similar to the sci fi books gateway series. If he can balance all the mechanics and streamline the interface it will be one of the great games here. I like the real porn, but I think 3d modelling is better, but only if the developer has the resources to develop it quickly. I say build with real porn the when complete or nearly complete, replace with quality 3d graphics and animation

Probably the best designed sandbox HTML game on the site. Whether you care for the content or not, Gateway sets a new standard on what HTML realporn games can be. It really makes you realize how little other devs utilize the engine, be it from laziness, or lack of actual coding knowledge.

Pros:

++ Aforementioned design, both in interactivity as well as QoL features. I particularly enjoy the management aspect of the game. It strikes a good balance between being meaninful, and not being overly cumbersome. The navigation and character tracking features make the time of day slot sandbox event gameplay as (relatively) painless as possible.

++ LI diverity. Different body types, skin tones, and maturity levels. Videoclips are consistent and well chosen. Scenes at least one clip with sound, which is a huge plus for me.

++ Not overly branchy gameplay. Definitely follows harem game rules in that you can see most if not all the content on a single save. No slow burn either. Hits you with the H early and often.

Neutral/YMMV:

Writing is in either British or Australian English, I can't put my finger on it. Obviously it's a nitpick at worst, but if you're used to American English, some of the word choices, particularly in H scenes, might catch you off guard. It's hard for me to read, for example , "She began to suck on me ol' bellend" in any erotic tone whatsoever, but that's on me.

Needs Improvement:

- Story is a little hard to follow at times. Overall I like all the different characters; they more or less are distinct enough from each other, but the overarching narrative feels a little much. Perhaps I'm just a moron. Luckily, you don't really have to read too much into it to enjoy.

- Occasional bugs, mostly UI stuff. The dark side of having a dev that actually codes things. You can't get scripting errors if you don't write scripts. None of them have been serious or game-breaking for me.

I've played a lot of games on F95ZONE and can honestly say that most are decent I have a few I truly enjoy this being one of them . This Dev has used a Diversity of actresses I haven't seen in other games. It truly makes this game enjoyable for anyone that doesn't fixate on 1 body type. I'm looking forward to the additions Feebs puts into the New updates as this is the one game I keep coming back to.

The grind may put some people off however the cheats allow you to get passed that I personally recommend playing it through the current update with out cheats before using them on any other play through to see possible missed content.

You manage a 'portal' for travelers, complete tasks/quests, and manage the area. There are tons of ladies to 'interact' with and many different things to do.

It's setup more like a star topology rather than a simple linear story. This most certainly helps keep you entertained. There's just so much to do. It's great.

You can 'oversee' research, construction, as well as other areas, boost stats w the ladies, interact with travelers, go to a different city to broker peace, and so much more. Once you do some of these things, you then learn to do them more efficiently depending on where you assign people to work. Sounds like a lot, and it is, but the way it's setup it isn't too overwhelming.

The interface is fantastic, colors are great, and updates are fairly quick having already released 2 or 3 content updates in the last 3 months along with other patches. This really gives the impression that Gateway will be around for quite some time. There is already a ton of content as well.

As far as live porn videos go. Yes a lot of times there are just videos thrown in and none of the characters match. However, Feebs seems to at least have tried to keep some coherency. Honestly it's a giant turnoff for me to see multiple guys with the love interest and just have the MC's name slapped on it. Feebs seems to have tried a LOT to use video clips where it seems to be the same guy and minimize this issue. I know you can't all the time, but anyway....Feebs has done the best job so far.

The multitude of ladies are all nice enough looking, other than the tattoos and plastic surgery, so while I think tatoos are disgusting I realize it's up to personal taste.....but they're really covered in em.....
Lots of women, lots of personalities, lots of fake boobs, and lots of different looks.

Could probably do without running down all the women by calling them sluts, bitches, and whores during sex.

Very active in the forum, extremely quick responses, help, and patches.

As a purveyor of HTML games this is absolutely one of the best sandbox games.

The Good:

• Tons of content
• Tons of girls
• UI is simple and effective with helpful tooltips
• Story is good
• Not your regular porn actress
• Management is a supporting system and doesn't overly detract.

The Bad:

• The Sex Scene dialogue is terrible.
• The attempt at girls accents is distracting
• Looping scenes with sound track is jarring
• Player Agency seems minor

I've seen a lot of complaints about the game being grindy. I didn't feel that at all until ~60 as I was wrapping up side content. Family members are a little grindy but I didn't feel like it was overwhelming because I still had expeditions to send people on and buildings were still getting built. Since there are a ton of characters having the quest tracker really helped not only keep the side stories going, but track where the girls were since the icon on the sandbox UI aren't as clear as needed to track all of the girls.

I know sandbox explodes in dev time with player agency, and there are a couple of !!!Important!!! decisions but it felt overly scripted story-wise.

Great game.

I'm very late in rating this thread because I was busy playing the game! So addictive! It's a great sandbox type game where you can build a harem of some very sexy women! There's also some tasks that need to be kept tab upon and the universe built is quite promising to have even more beautiful encounters!
The only problem that I have been facing has been with playing the game on a mobile interface. The text, the photos, the videos and generally the entire UI tends to go haphazard and it's very difficult to play. Works great on a larger screen.

The scenes and pictures chosen are all very stiff, and it goes way too heavy into plot all at once and ends up being overly verbose and dull. Scenes dont really progress in an satisfying order either.

The best HTML game at the moment.

Interesting plot and its presentation. Interesting characters. In the game there is a system of resources, but you can not grind them, because the game has cheats. On the roles of characters selected cool actresses.

My very favorite HTML Game i've ever played.

The Positives:

1. Grinding the game is optional with free cheats in the computer
2. The UI is Simple and well polished
3. The story is steady throughout; providing enough time between important scenes to develop both the story and the characters.
4. Player Choice! Yes, the game has a set story, but decisions to take the game like who to send through the "Gateway" and how to develop the story with different characters provide both a static story AND a sandbox feeling
5. The management aspect is Great! Barebones, but in a way that feels purposeful as to merely add to the game, not steal the show
6. Clarity on side quests and the main quest, and the ability to hide quests if you want
7. More that im definitely not thinking of

Great game. Fun, original storyline. Some characters are easy to pursue, others more difficult. This gives rewards throughout the game without feeling grindy. Building aspect adds another layer to the game.

This is a great game for fans of real porn. Lots of girls with good model choices and a steady progression with each. Cheats are built-in to speed things along for those who prefer it. Clean, intuitive UI. I encountered very few bugs, and none that were game-breaking. And a fun story to tie it all together. Keep it up, dev!

I've spent many hours on this game, so I really recommend it, if you like science fiction. Review version 0.1.5 - I usually don't make reviews of on going projects unless it's terrible, but this game has a lot of content.

The worst: It's way to hard to know what to do next, there's way to much time when there's really nothing to do. There should be warnings when new stuff is avaliable (some stuff already have like photoshoot) and when you reach the limit for every character and story point, and it gets worse, some characters have warnings like 'there's no more corruption for this character' but then you keep playing and there's a lot more content for the same character. And this adds up to the next point:

Way to much grind, my god this game is grindy. Endless clicking, and thought it has a lot of content it just make it seems it really doesn't. Dev also knows this, for there's a cheat option on the computer, and with cheat on, this game is way to grind, I can't imagine to play this game without cheat, but there's some bugs with the cheats and you kinda have to do it manually, so THE CHEAT ITSELF IS GRIND. lol.

The dialogs are ok, not great not terrible. And the scenes are "real porn", nothing is more fake than real porn. It's not my preference, but it is what it is, the editing is well done for most part. Some scenes, especailly in the very beggining are kinda poor, but as game goes on the scenes are more elaborate and better overral. There's relative few sex scenes, about 25%, most are felatio, masturbation and lesbian scenes.
