The Gay Protagonist Games List thread by CboyC95 has more games than I will add to my recommendations list, but it doesn't have all of the games that I would recommend on it. There will be some overlap between this thread and that one as well. I recommend checking out his thread as well if you have not seen it. Also I won't be naming any strictly furry games, as that is not a genre that appeals to me (no disrespect to the people who are into it). This list isn't really in much of an order:
SpaceCorps XXX by RanliLabz is one of my favorite VNs at the moment. There is a pretty even ratio of gay and straight content. You will see naked women in the game but that doesn't mean you will be having sex with them. Humour is always subjective and SpaceCorps definitely doesn't take itself too seriously. If you haven't tried it yet, I highly recommend it.
Bound by Night by Bound By Night. This is a strictly gay VN about the supernatural, taking some plot inspiration from games lik "Vampire the Masquerade". There is not much humor here and it is fairly linear, but you do get to make some choices and the story is well written.
Just Bros by ElloFatDog. This VN is actually why I decided to make this thread. Someone really did not enjoy this VN and I said I would put it pretty high on my list of favorites which made me ask myself, "what IS my list of favorites"? There is a surprisingly large number of characters that you can engage with in some capacity with varying degrees of sexual contact. Recent updates have also added character activity that doesn't fit a mold you see too often: a very large muscle man in the role of bottom.
Exiles by Tim.E.Pants is awesome but also hasn't seen an update in awhile. Tim is pretty active in the Exiles thread here on f95 though so there is no reason to believe it is abandoned. Exiles has both gay and straight content as well as featuring a trans character. Highly recommended.
Bound to College by Pride Drawing also hasn't seen an update in awhile as the author deals with real life issues, but it's looking pretty good. Strictly m/m content here. There is no reason to believe it is abandoned as of yet. It's already pretty good and I hope it is given time to get even better, even if bondage isn't really my thing.
Summer Vacation by ErwinVN. This is another gay only game that I am looking forward to seeing progress. What's there is pretty great! Though, since the plot has taken the main character to university, it's not entirely about Summer Vacation
Artificial Academy 2 by Illusion. This game can be as gay, bi, or straight as you want it to be, though the gay sex seems to require a gay sex mod (which can be found in the AA2 thread) unless you enjoy dicks floating in the air while a Ken doll has sex. This is not a VN, it's more like a school simulator where you walk around and socialize with students / teachers.
The Imperial Gatekeeper is straight leaning and has an unskippable straight sex scene, but with the gameplay you can almost always have the people you are inspecting be other men. There is no special artwork or story scenes for any of the male characters the way there is for the unique female characters, but it's still worth checking out imho. Also does anyone else think that the sound of Chrissia having an orgasm sounds like someone dumping a bucket of sand down a metal slide?
I will be adding further to this list if people are interested, because this is by no means complete, but that's enough for now.

by Dudedle Studio (this is a link to an external site). This is a brief game where you feel up (and possibly have sex with) a university football / soccer player. I am not sure if the Unity Web Player works for most people as it definitely does NOT work for me but TT3 also exists as a separate unity program as a Collector's Edition that definitely works. If you can find it, it's worth a shot and won't take up too much of your time. For those unfamiliar, Dudedle used to make a variety of games and there are even earlier Touch and Tease games, but those were programmed in Flash. They are also not as high quality as 3. Dudedle focuses almost entirely on their furry puzzle game now. Speaking of Dudedle Studio and games that aren't so easy to find, they also made Sugar Shooter and Sugar Shooter 2, which are gay bullet hell games that I recommend checking out if you can actually find them.
