VN - Ren'Py - Completed - General Practitioner [v2.1] [Bruni Multimedia]

I genuinely like the concept and some of the scenes, but omfg is this game not complete. The AUDACITY for this dev to just drop this game and decide to make a SEQUEL when it's so incredibly unpolished and inane is just ridiculous to me. You just end up repeating the same fvcking activities to raise your stats, over and over and over again, and you rarely EVER actually get a scene, so you just end up having to go through them manually. Honestly, I'd rate it higher if there was hope he'd actually finish the bloody thing, but I highly doubt that when he decides to make an EVEN MORE ambitious game, despite the fact he FAILED to complete it preliminarily. Not to mention the limited number of saves for how much you save.

Make yourself a favor and just don't play this game.

After playing this 2 things become obvious:

1. The dev is very ambitious
2. The dev doesn't know how to achieve his ambitions

The game simply is a mess trying to be like 4 different games at the same time (sandbox, vn, management and doctor minigame) and just fails at all of them.

The doctor minigame is slow, boring and simply doesn't give you the tools to know wtf to do, so its mostly rollback and selecting a different answer till you find the correct one.

The world of the sandbox feels empty, and because it wants you to follow a specific story it doesn't feel open at all.

Hey visual novel enjoyers! What about cutting the story in the middle for more pointless grinding? Also you can only have 1 girlfriend/boyfriend at the same time so you can bet your ass you won't be seeing a lot of content from those characters!

When the management started is when I just quit, after hours uppon hours of grind and advancing the story, I suddendly get like a bigger hospital which I have no idea how to properly manage. The moment I saw that I was in the reds I just quit and deleted the game.

Also the game is marked as a VN which it most certainly is not. I played this game for 3 or so hrs and didnt get to a single sex scene. If I wanted to waste my trying to get laid and failing I would just go out to the club. Feels bad man

But yeah maybe its good if you want to be a doctor or something lmao I get what they were going for but when I play a VN i expect to bust a nut in the next few hrs, I mean nobody can stay hard for 4+ hrs jeeeesh its more like hard=>semi=>hard but this is just ridiculous, I dont have enough blood in my body to play this game I need a damn transfusion before I get to the good parts. Sprinkle in a BJ here and there at leeeast i mean holy moly

Its a sandbox, get rid of that VN tag

Well first off, I've always found it hard to be immersed in games, where what you say in dialogue has no negative or positive impact on gameplay.
Why because I find it's always subjective and based on what the devs views are, which to me is them projecting their opinions, and not always how people respond in reallife. Which can lead to some pretty frustrating interactions with npc's. Because at that point as MC, your responses are based on what you think the devs want. Not you as MC, this is just not fun or interesting to the player as the MC. You know like watching/reading something that's predetermined, were u have little to no control of the outcome. So this is just my short review of what I've played so far. And to hopefully give the devs some input for future content. As I know game development is not easy. GOODLUCK

Pretty complete game but a bit repetitive. The story is pretty good and you can do multiples playthrough which is quite enjoyable
It also has quite a long duration (5-6h for one playthrough) and the medical terms seems quite accurate. Have a try and decide then if it's your cup of tea

When i saw the Sandbox i got the usual hype spike, thats the first thing i gotta say. The thing with the clinic created great expectations also but that all that hype is fading and is almost gone right now.
After having examined 30 patients, i feel like, except in some cases, there is nothing more than diagnosing at the clinic, and all that tutorial about points and requirements is pointless since you can roll back, change your approach and get the girl totally naked, which by the way, is just pointless again and most of the times it has no effect on the patients dialogue, attitude or story at all.

Also there are more angles (renders) when you inspect feet, than renders when you inspect vaginas, so again, getting someone naked is pointless.
Why would i get someone naked to make lose reputation or money to get nothing out of it?
No problem, you can mess with their vaginas to cure an ear infection and get a perfect score!
Thats an entire game mechanic that is just useless.
In addition, some times even though you got someone naked, renders for the inspections show clothes.

There are quite a number of girls but only some have story, which doesnt seem to be much of a story, more like events, by the way.
And there are some things which its outcome its hard to understand, maybe its because i missed some points, or maybe the game didnt get enough feedback. For instance the scene with the sister and the room temperature resulted in an absolute waste and the guy falls asleep. I didt know it is possible to all asleep in a horny mood with, well, i guess it is.

Anyway sex scenes are just poor, there are some animations but nothing remarkable


I have to keep playing and experience more. Despite being dissapointing, the game concept is really awesome, it has a Triple A vibe in it that is refreshing, to bad execution is a bit lacking.

I kept playing and trying to continue the "relative" path, but its not activating and its being a pain in the ass. Evertything seems to be disconnected or unrelated. If not for the medical knowledge i would give a 2star.
As a managing game, its really interesting, lacking the "adult/perv/fetish" approach. As an adult "game" its seriously below average in many aspects.

This is a game that I desperately wanted to like more, I felt like playing it as just a regular game was far preferable to playing it as an adult game. There are a lot of interesting things you do and learn and the conversations aren't out of place, so as a game in general I would probably give it 5 stars, it's fun to play. But, as an adult game I would have to give this one a 3, I felt like the sex scenes were lacking, the models look good but it lacks different view points that might show stuff like penetration, and the sex scenes in general are just uninspiring. It saddens me to say this because I can tell that a lot of work has gone into this game, and I think with just some extra effort put into the sexual aspect of this game that it could easily bring that up to a 5. Its not the models, its the sex scenes, my suggestion would be to spend more time making those scenes look better and the game will be much better for it, but as it is now it feels more like a soft core porn where sex isn't really happening but everyone is pretending like it is.

Keep up the good work, lots of potential, just needs better sex scenes then it will be a 5/5.

I love the broad idea of having a game where you can pretend to be a doctor in order to see nude girls and take advantage of them, and I can tell the developer has mad game developing skills, but this game simply is too complicated for its own good. It would be a million times better if the developer dumbed down the medical aspects and concentrated on what people want to see - more sex scenes....particularly ones that last more than a few seconds. Perhaps he should play some of the top games on this site to get a feel for the right blend of sex to go with the story, because he definitely has all of the skills and tools for creating a great game if he can just get rid of the boring grind elements and concentrate on the aspects that please the customer (players of the game) which is more sex and less medical terms and less grinding. The game has a ton of good things going for it with a variety of characters with different personalities and tons of potential of creating opportunities to either corrupt/abuse them or fall in love with them, but so far the game has not lived up to its potential in this area.

if you want to to learn medical things and see some nudity then this is game to play but if you want to see less text (especially medical text) and more lewd scenes then better to ignore this.

A well-researched medical sim that has sex in it. Most of the codex has information regarding different types of symptoms which is pretty accurate. Great work regarding the codex. I also liked the patient information in the codex. However a great game. Would recommend.

Nice work. A story of a doctor (general pratict) - pheraps too slow in the trama - Has a lot of potential and is sometime difficult to go on in interact, just like real life is.

Storybait in first revisions with "slutty niece"and no development on this.
This is an example of how game developers exploit trends with a goal of receiving larger community support, and then simply walk away with lame excuses.

There's a decent game hiding somewhere in here. I get that this is a medical focused game but the examinations are kind of a pain in the ass to play through.

On top of that a lot of events either just never fire up or are bugged which makes getting certain routes feel near impossible. Renders are pretty lackluster too though that's not an issue for me personally.

VN is decent quality.

Two concerns.

First, why set this VN in the area of Washington State? Many cases make references 99% of Americans would have pull up Wikipedia for. No one would have batted an eye had this game been set in the Midlands. My point is that the references and the game location aren't particularly congruent.

Second and more critically... why did this have to be so bloody long? It's Ren'Py for heaven's sake, it doesn't have to be this long. If I wanted VNs this long, I'd start hitting up RPGM builds again. This took days to grind through, and that's to see ONE ending. It was a good ending mind you (I rather liked Elisa), but I'm not going to do this again to see the others.

Decently well-researched medical sim that has sex in it... Sex parts are few and far between however. The sim parts can also be excessively grindy and get extremely repetitive. Money is also a pain in the ass to earn... Its also Renpy engine, so everyone is Uncanny Valley. Decent time waster... I think Vanessa is best girl personally...

I spent a lot of time with this game, great in concept and very ambitious. The gameplay and story are full of promise but the execution is lacking.

Pluses:
You do get a sense of what it's like being a GP. If that was the goal, then the developer accomplished what they set out to do. There's a lot of detail about doctors and their lives in here. Some of it is subtle and usually it's very well executed.

There's options for the MC to be straight, bi, or gay which is rare for a male MC in adult games.

Minuses: It's a grind. There's no clear triggering for events. You end up grinding until there's an event or time runs out. This could have been sped up dramatically and made the game both fun and interesting rather than the slog it is. Because it's such a grind and the choices on who you want to end up with happen with a lot of game time left, replaying the game is not much fun (even with the meditate on your life option).

Graphics are meh, but I figured out early on this really isn't an erotic game....it's a RPG with some sex. I can live with those types of games if the gameplay and story pay off. It did not in this case.

The story opened up some interesting possibilities but then fell flat on the delivery. There's a huge conspiracy in the game but the payoff is pretty weak IMHO.

Overall, I thought this was a unique concept and had a lot of potential, but the grinding really made it a chore to get through. Go to work, see patients, hire staff, train staff, go to the hospital, bang patients, bang someone, conspiracies abound.

I will try another Bruni game because they showed some real potential. Hopefully they'll read these reviews and learn how to improve.

EDIT: This is more directed to Bruni. After some additional thought, I think the real issue here (and solution for Bruni) is ambition. There are really 2 games here. First, a doctor simulator which is very well done. They could make a sim doctor game where you build out the office, expand your empire., learn new skills, etc. If the grindy aspects were removed, that would be fun.

The 2nd game is an adult-themed game where the MC is a doctor, a plot where there's conflict/conspiracy and you try to bang patients, nurses, etc. Without the doctor details, that game would have been fun.

It seems to me that much effort was put forth into the first piece without much thought about the grindy aspects, but not much into the second...so both end up falling flat.

I'd play a Sim Doctor game. It was kinda fun and interesting...but it got way too grindy. The adult part of the game introduced interesting characters and plot points, then fell flat on delivery. My advice to Bruni is to fully develop one or the other...but not both.

I always hesitate to give a game a bad rating. But in this case it's really easy:

-Mediocre/Bad Graphics.
-Boring story.
-Sex scenes are rare and really short.
-Boring medical grindfest.


This game had so much potential and i really wanted it to be good.
But this is only for guys who are into medical fetish. And no, i don't mean sexual medical fetish, but being really into all that medical stuff.
But if i wanted to be a doctor in real life, i would have studied.

The main reason why i give this game 2 stars:
The sexscenes are a total lackluster. They are so rare and so short and so boring that you loose any interest in this game.

The realistic medical side(as far as I know at least) is interesting and a creative way to differentiate the story that's often told in these games, but the characters didn't stand out and make themselves interesting enough and the renders/sexual content were underwhelming. The game had promise but feels like lost potential.

It is game with good story, interesting management (you can choose and hire medical stuff and train them) and medical flavor (seems accurate and educational).
Also there are various choises, reflecting the story. There are good art.

This niche game offers in-depth medical information during an examination mini-game. It becomes a grind forced by monthly expenses.

Because the human element is uninteresting by extension so are the examinations. Story's meh and feels unfinished. The sex is still frames and written description. Siding with the sister's story leads to lackluster dialogue and textual kissing.

If you're gonna try this game then give it 10 examinations. By then you'll know if your time is better spent elsewhere.
