Ren'Py - Genex Love and 2 Love Genex [P2 v2.2.2] [Reboot Love]

    A Gooning Goner

This review is only for Part 1!
I will try to remember to update it when I have finished with Part 2!

Honestly, it's great. I think this is my current #1 VN - but the only competetors are others on this site.
Even still, there's some heavy hitters, and Genex Love at least holds their own against them.

    Writing 4.9/5
The writing is very solid, and genuinely convincing, which I have found to be rare!
I'm really liking the approach of "evil heroes" and the Thread and such, and really hope they go into this even more.
Sometimes it can be lame or otherwise cliche, but these moments are generally rare and passable enough.
My biggest gripe with the writing is the whole rage thing. That I find a bit lame if I'm honest, but it seems like something of an anime cliche so this isn't an issue I have with this game specifically.
Then also, the ending (of part 1) was a bit ehhh for me. Again, too cliche for my liking.
I'm really not convinced that the MC WOULDN'T have died there, nor why they were unable to use any of their multiple abilities to fight.
But it's fine, it was dramatic and all that.

There are a LOT of choices, but I'm not really the kind of person to replay an entire game where "most" things are similar, just to see some alternate lines of dialogue. So I don't really know how much impact the choices have beyond locking you out of some scenes with the girls.
If I'm honest, I wish I did less white-knighting to try to be a True Hero, as after more exposure, for example to Jesus and The Thread's treatment of Winter, I maybe should have gone a more Vigilante route.
I'm very interested as well as to what the Villian route changes, but again, there's simply too many hours of gameplay for me to do a whole other playthrough to see.

    Gameplay 5/5
GL's approach to VN is the best I've played so far, where instead of a completely sandbox "roam the world and interact with literally everything that is interactable until something of marginal interest happens" style,
the game's primary loop is ACTUAL GAMEPLAY you do during the afternoon and night, and the scenes happen separately in their own pockets of time.
This gameplay is of the management genre, as well as (admittedly pretty easy) turn-based combat. Both, though, are very well-done.
I really like this approach, because it
    A. Felt like this was an actual game - it felt like I was actually DOING something instead of just reading endless dialogue, and
    B. It never felt like the game was wasting my time.

I appreciate the looming presence of a lose condition (I'm assuming, I guess I never did let my threat level get to 100%, but it is implied you will lose if that happens), because this makes it so that you're always DOING something - training to make fights easier, recruiting to make "not-fighting" easier, working for money, or fighting to reduce threat level.
If I'm completely honest, there almost might even have been TOO much to do, since I virtually never had time to train. Luckily this was never a problem, and all fights were actually pretty easy, even when choosing "High Risk" fights.

And again, throughout all that above activity, the scenes just naturally happen - the gameplay never competes with having a scene with a girl (with some narrative exceptions).
It's like the VN and Gameplay elements are separated, and I really love the approach.
It makes the game far far easier to play and, more importantly, to enjoy!

    Sound Design 5/5
The Sound Design is exactly what I'd expect - there is background music and sound effects that very, very effectively enhance the experience without being distracting.

    Girl Design 5/5
While the proportions of most of the girls is truly excellent, I actually want to point out that the girls are even better because of their narratives.
It is rare where I am actually convinced of a character in these kinds of games, as most are just boobs on a body.
But these characters actually have good stories, and a lot of development (for some, not so much for others).

For things I didn't like, it's not too much honestly.
Mainly, I think the art style looks a bit outdated, mostly in the form of a lack of detail in the characters.
Everything is just so... smooth? I don't really know how to word it. But it's a certain "Ren'Py" style that a lot of VNs use, so it isn't a criticism unique to this game. Just not my specific cuppa, but everything else more than makes it tolerable. Unfortunately, it does make the NSFW scenes less exciting for me personally. But again, that's a "me thing", not the game doing anything wrong.

Secondly, at one point I reached what I'm assuming a "Part 2 (still in Part 1 though)", as the quality of a LOT of things increased.
It also added a LOAD of new mechanics, like the prison and new powers, and this was a very pleasant suprise!

However, I think I then reached what I will call a "Part 3 of Part 1", and the quality of the NSFW animations increased, however, the writing decreased a little bit, as over the course of like 3 or 4 days I was constantly popping the cherry of every girl I'd met up to that point.

The game had been very, VERY well-paced up to that point, so it was weird to suddenly be faced with a figurative onslaught, haha.

Overall, this is one of the best I've played and genuinely might go and support the creator(s), because this is definitely the kind of quality content I want to see in this space!
Really looking forward to more, both in this... "series?" and whatever else the creator(s) do!

Solid 10/10 from me just for the sheer amount of LIFE the developer has in this story with its characters, design, and overall development!

God damn, this story was AMAZING. Went through part 1 and had an absolute blast experiencing all of the depth the creator put into it. Not sure how much of the second part of the game is actually finished, but I'm hoping I won't have to wait too long to enjoy its full release.

If anyone comes across this absolute gem and wasn't already completely sold on giving it a chance, I 100% recommend it. Believe me, you'll be thanking yourselves for it later.

***SPOILERS about the absolute best character in the game below :PogChamp:***

I don't know how many times I caught myself fanboying over Eric... That guy was an absolute fucking BRO the entire time. There were so many times I thought he'd fall short, but bro constantly kept surprising me as he had my back from start to finish, always trying to set me up with the ladies, "If it ain't fun, why do it". If only we could all be so lucky to have an absolute legend of a wingman like him!

Story is engaging, the MC isn't some overpowered Chad. And the LI's all have different personalities. One of the best games I've played on this site.

    Pros:
    - Lots of content
    - Well fleshed out LI's
    - Plot is engaging
    - Good combat (I prefer the VN battles over the turn based however)
    - Music and sounds during H-scenes
    - Isn't a fuckfest right from the jump

    Cons:
    - Minor grammatical errors
    - Turn based combat has no animations for elemental attacks

Final thoughts: If you haven't tried this game and are into the superhero/anime genre, you should definitely play this game. @Finisterrex I recommend you either add a cloak/cape to MC's current Genex suit or go back to the OG suit he had (it's cosmetically looks better in my opinion). I am definitely gonna support this gem of a game.

This game is just PERFECT. Seriously, I didn’t expect it to be this good.

First of all, it’s not a kinetic novel — which already makes it stand out. Most 3D VNs like this usually force you to follow one fixed story where your choices don’t really matter. But here? Your decisions actually change the flow, and that’s what makes it awesome.

Second, the superhero theme. I love this genre, especially in 18+ VNs, because it usually blends fantasy, powers, and story depth — and this one absolutely nailed it.

Third, it includes my favorite combo: graphic violence, romance, and a bit of taboo love. Everything’s there. I personally went for the antihero route, because, let’s be honest, heroes always play too nice — and sometimes, villains just need to disappear

The story is well-written, the characters are interesting, and even though there aren’t that many adult scenes, the ones that exist are solid and meaningful to the plot.

I’ve only finished Season 1, but it’s already top-tier. Hoping Season 2 brings new twists, maybe new powers or storylines — but even now, Season 1 alone already feels complete and satisfying.

I can’t support the devs financially, but I just want to say — massive thanks to the author for making such an amazing game. Respect.

    Now listen here . . .

I don't know who you think you are to give me a good story and one where I refuse to be an ass to any and all characters simply because of my good nature and that they're actually compelling to be kind to, but fuck it we ball.

    Congratulations, I am hooked.

Expect me to stick around, since I'm a lore addict (I'm obsessed with reading lore and learning about a setting, down to every detail as much as the dev can give), as well as the characters, the plot, the fact that your choice can strongly make or break relationships, and that the heroines are not braindead bimbos to walk over, but are emotionally compelling (If you guessed I'm a Lisha fan, you got me), and it's not easy to win them over, either.

Take my upvote, and for the love of me, I MUST HAVE MORE! :D

Review for Genex Love (Part 1)

Overall 3/5. This is not a story, rather a sandbox of the author's many different whims and fantasies, with writing not good enough to make them coherent, which results in a directionless and sometimes nonsense story. If you're looking for a simple hero fantasy, this is serviceable, however, if you're interested in the gameplay aspects, absolutely avoid this game.

Story 2.5/5. Starts of strong, theming with ambition and potential, however more problems with the writing show up as you go. Some of it:

Directionless Story: Done with Part 1 and there is still no goal for this story
Powers: MCs powers are yet to be fully defined, it's dependent on plot convenience
Random Scenes: So many scenes / events don't add anything to the plot, they are just there to fulfill some sort of fantasy and some don't even make sense
MC's Personality: From shy, confident, selfish, selfless, heroic to rapey, it just bounces around even if you're just focusing on 1 route

Characters and relationship 3/5. You start of with around 7 characters and there are at least 18 by the end, this results shallow and poorly defined characters. Relationships are weak as well with most love interest (LI) falling in love with your "hero aspects" and not much else. It also takes a lot of time before an LIs get with you, not because of long and well developed relationship, rather that there are just so many LIs that it just takes a lot of time to go through them

Gameplay 1.5/5. Start of with basic management and combat with more getting added as you play. None of them are good or well designed it might be fun and fulfilling at first but by the end its unrewarding, boring, and repetitive

Visuals 4.5/5. Definitely above the rest in its group, with lots of good looking characters and renders. Considering the difficulty, the action scenes don't look as good

Adult Content 4/5. There is quite a lot with many different flavors mostly on the teasing side

    The Ending 1/5.

This game surprised me, and in a good way. I wasn't really sure what to expect going in, but what I found was an enjoyable story that's equal parts fun and serious, borrowing heavily from other super hero properties, but with its own take on it.

For reference, I did a true hero run, so my review won't be relevant to anyone doing anti hero or vigilante.

To start, the graphics are good, considering its Koikatsu game, and for the first time I can remember, the MC isn't fucking hideous in one of these games. The girls are cute and there's a decent variety of your standard archetypes (including some with actual thighs, amen dev). The backgrounds and set pieces were nice enough to not make your eyes bleed and suit the game well.

The story is actually reasonably interesting, there's not a ton that's surpsring, or crazy twists (I saw the hidden big bad coming from miles away), and is a decent mix of serious shonen anime battle plot and silly slice of life mayhem. The interpersonal writing carries the day here, and once again, we have a dev who understands the importance of strong male friends, serious, Erik is such a bro, and his inclusion in the story is awesome.

The gameplay is... Fine, I suppose. It's turn based combat inspired by RPGmaker but done in renpy and its serviceable. You can turn on easy mode or turn off combat entirely, so it's not like it's the end of the world, but I feel like it doesn't really add a lot to the game, and I worry about it's upkeep in terms of dev time, but that's the Devs decision, not mine. I played through the whole thing on normal difficulty and didn't hate it, but there wasn't a lot of nuance or strategy to it, I basically just spammed wind moves and won.
However, there are a few fights carried out in a narrative style the dev calls VN fights, which are actually pretty enjoyable, letting you leverage your powers and decision making in a way that feels connected to the narrative. These are actually enjoyable and I'd trade the whole filler battle system for a few more of these.
The sandbox is basic, and does its job, its purely about grinding stats and money, plus the prison (more on that in a minute), you have a simple lose condition of a percentage bar that goes up by 10% each day to prevent you from just skipping everything, but in general it's pretty quick, and you can get back to the story.

The prison is the other sandbox element, and is brought up during the story. Basically you can capture monster girls and tame them through fear or trust (I did the trust routes), caring for them including feeding and bathing, educating and eventually fucking them. Of note here is this is another way your character acquires new powers since he steals powers via sex (kinda). It's... A bit of a grind, a lot of repeating the same scenes, but it's enjoyable enough, and includes a mini skill tree/base building thing that's kind of interesting.

The sex is limited, the author wasn't lying when he said this isn't a game for a quick fap, and there's a lot of slow burn romance going on, which I love, but it's mildly frustrating right now because we're *so close* to getting to the really good stuff by the end, the girls are all opening up to the mc and ending up in bed with him, but the game is still in development. This is an unfortunate reality of games under development, and is no fault of the Devs, it just makes me excited to see what's coming next, especially since I have good reason to believe we'll start to see more and more harem scenes.

The kinks are pretty vanilla, at least on the love/hero routes, I imagine the fear/villain routes involve more rape and forced sex, there's some optional maledom/femdom/dirty talk that's toggle able in the settings, but it's applied so sporadically it feels almost weird (for example one of the girls behaves, and reacts so differently to your powers compared to everyone else, it's jarring). Of note is the dev has a pretty obvious scent kink, and it comes up a lot, so, if that bothers you, be advised.

The other thing worth mentioning is the quality of life, this game offers a lot, including a very granular option settings for kinks, difficulty settings, dialogue changes and a pseudo walkthrough (choices will show their effects) which make this game a lot nicer to play, A+ here dev.

All in all, this game is very good, and I'd highly recommend it to anyone who likes romance, anime action and a lot of story mixed with their sex.

    This is an amazing game!

The story is generic but very interesting and I played the whole game without skipping which goes to show how good it is.

    Pros:
+ Charming and diverse set of characters
    + Impressive amount of content
+ Great humor and the dialogues feel lively
    + Story is interesting
+ Plenty of choices that matter
    + Good attention to detail
+ H content can be spicy (good for people who find vanilla boring)

Can't really think of much con, this game is genuinely awesome and you can see how much thought and work the devs put into this game. As the description says, this is a little bit of a slow burn, but if you're not one of those people who come into this site looking for a theatrical masterpiece, and complain about every little thing, I'm sure you'll have a good time.

What I hope to see in P2:
More H-Scenes with the main Lis. This game is close to falling to the trap other games have which is creating way too many characters and spending too much time on them. Alot of us don't care about sex with characters we just met, we want to see it with characters we've gotten to know over the course of the game. I also hope that there will be more spicy content coming since vanilla sex just bore me.

That said, 10/10, hope to see more!

Honestly, the best nsfw game made in Renpy that I've ever played, I loved the characters and the unique story, I also like that the game gives me the choice of which path to follow (good, vigilant or evil) giving the player more immersion and more freedom. I would give it a 9.5/10

This was a very fun game to play!! Rarely does a VN inspire me to replay, but with so many events and unique situations, this is worth revisiting. Characters, premise, plot, artwork, animation, fun battles, leveling up, choices and more are solid.

    Thanks!

    10/10
The game holds about 15 hours of play time depending on your reading pace.

The game looks very nice, with good h scenes and 10+ girls with different kinks and curves to pick from .I really liked the story and the visuals, the main fights were good, not bad at all.

The sound effects are okay, there are some moments where you don't hear anything.

I really enjoyed it, i finished it in 3 days and I can't wait to try part 2.

Surprisingly solid! It may look like your standard H game with Koikatsu-based character models, but the amount of content that is available, the slow build up, the characters, and especially the payoff with each girl are great.

Massive props to the dev for actually going for quality over quantity when it comes to the scenes, as every single one is accompanied by custom high quality animations rather than using the stock Koikatsu animations that are literally everywhere in these types of games.

Story are not that exciting, but the characters definitely carried it for me especially for the main heroines, they are basically the main drive / motivation for you to keep going and it was really enjoyable to see the development between your protagonist and every single one of them.

The game does offer some actual combat in the form of classic turn-based and choice based (VN), alongside some sort of base-building content with how you can tame monster girls in Prison. These are great to spice things up, but if you want to just focus on the main content without having to do some grind / side stuff, the dev already provide some QoL features that allow you to do some of these tasks automatically.

This is also another huge plus for me because there are still plenty of games that demand you to grind to sort of extend the play time, but here the dev clearly know how to keep people engaged without compromising on the actual content that they can enjoy.

My main gripe however is that there isn't much depth to the sandbox experience, because you can only spend time to increasing your stats, earning money, or doing some scouting by engaging in combat. I think it'll be great if the game allowed you to approach things more freely instead of following a linear path, especially since some events or scenes will only be triggered on certain days.

All that aside, definitely looking forward to Part 2!

A 10/10 game recommendation to those who want a great story to enjoy that resembles something straight out of a isekai manga.

Gameplay : Not all choices matter and there are 3 main branches of choices. However, the game will tell you when these important choices will matter so there isn't too much to worry about.

Story : 3 different paths, the story seems to be almost completely similar, but minor dialogue changes here and there. I would say that if you enjoy having harems, and a hero who could turn into a true hero or anti villain, this is a perfect game for you. Like I said again, has a great resemblance to many isekai mangas out there.

Visuals : Very good visuals considering it is a Ren'Py game with 3D models. As you can see from the cover of the page, it is a game leaning towards anime styled models.

Scenes : Scenes are better than the normal anime typped visual quality. There are only are there sound effects, but no voice overs or anything like that. The scenes feel artificial but does it job.

    Customer Support : N/A

Overall, a great game to try that could easily last you days worth of content, that isn't boring.

Overall very above average game. Could ask for better but don't really need to. Good graphics, H-Scenes and Characters. Story kind of sucks.

Opening the game you get a lot of choices for what kind of content you do and do not want to see in the game, which combined with the dev notes saying you can cut off women you don't like gave me a lot of hope.

Unfortunately the first sex scene is forced even if you turn off the "forced sex with MC" option in the beginning. I was hoping for a virgin run or a unique event where the MC has his first time with a girl of the players choice.

    More in depth review:

    Story - 2/5

It kind of sucks. Ultra uber generic hero vs monsters and villains story.
The girls have been made to be damsels in distress several times, with the idea culminating the final event of part 1, which is the worst part of the current story by far (super cringe). Side note, killing the monster girls or even just normal monsters is for some reason considered evil/unheroic even if they would have happily raped and killed women or otherwise caused harm if left to their own devices.

    Characters - 5/5

Main point: The girls are all really well written 5/5s in my opinion. It sucks the author flopped on the story because the characters themselves have a lot of potential. Top 3 for me are: 1. Lisha 2. Kate 3. Hanah

    The guys (kind of irrelevant):
The MC's friend Erick is a very well written good guy. I feel kind of bad for him though, hope his relationship with Kate can go well.

The MC's little brother is a total socially awkward rapist creep. IDK whats wrong with him or how he pulled his babe gf.

Adam is a pitiful guy. I guess the author thought it was necessary to add a standard small dick insecure arrogant bully character. (Unless I missed something, we are forced to see that his dick is small while the girls laugh at him.)

    Graphics - 4/5

The developer puts out some amazing scenes with great posing, camera angles and animations, but his lighting is probably the worst I have ever seen. Just look at the right side of this games banner. Those 9000+ power level sun shafts are present in a lot of renders, sometimes to the point where you can barely see the characters themselves. I don't know what makes the dev think they are a good idea.

    H-Content - 4/5

There isn't a whole lot of H-content in part 1 and it takes a while to reach, but the scenes that are in the game are super hot contextually and of high quality. The dev also added this "Click to take her virginity..." screen which is kind of cringe, but is also the hottest way I can think of implementing such scenes. I feel really terrible for Hanah though. Why did they dev make her most recent event take place in a restaurants public bathroom??? Horrible fortune...

    Gameplay - ?/5

I didn't bother with the combat. You can find and boost your stats using save editor and turn on auto combat so you don't have to deal with it.

Wow! This has a LOT of content. Story is corny as all hentai is - but fun and enjoyable nonetheless. While I don't love 3d modelling they did them well and the animations with literally every H-scene really adds a lot. Did I mention this game is HUGE - massive massive content.

All around a well deserved 5 star.

    [ver. 0.9.96 Part 1 review]

I'm sort of torn on this game. As a porn game, it's pretty good. The slow pacing kinda works in it's favor, since I like the slow build up for each girl. Almost all of the characters have a varying degrees of tattooing on their body, which I never knew was a fetish of mine until playing this game. As a superhero story its rather decent, I've seen much worse but I wouldn't call it amazing. I see a lot of people complaining that the main character has no idea what he's doing, but I think this is a positive for the story. He doesn't have any idea what he's supposed to be doing because how is anyone supposed to know? The game also lets me horribly maim clearly irredeemable people/villains and it's rather cathartic as most superhero games don't have the balls to let the player even try.

The main issue I have with the game is that the story is written pretty clumsily. Through a chain of conveniences everything always sort of resolves itself. Whenever anyone needs saving, the MC is always there and always swoops in to save the day, for every girl, sometimes multiple times. Very clearly evil and oppressive villains commit crimes multiple times and just walk away or show up later unimpeded. Like, someone illegally uses their superpowers to attempts to commit sexual assault and, what, we just wag our fingers at them and call them naughty before grounding them? Why is he and all of his rapist goons back on the streets again after, like, 2 days?

If you wanted an anime/Boku Hero style porn game, here it is, as long as you can forgive lazy, heavily pandering writing. Just don't expect any type of conclusion to anything in part 1 since it kind of just ends arbitrarily. Hell, most of the characters from the very beginning of the game don't even have sex scenes yet. I was pretty annoyed at the end, and it wasn't helped by the developer taunting me with the final text propts. Had to sleep it off so I could have a clearer head for a fair review.

    RESUME
I had written a long review, but it is not saved, I was too lazy to write it again. So I'll simply say the following:
    - Story with potential -> poor execution
    - Several Waifus -> Of the main ones there are 3 that in personality and 1 in design are disgusting (That is to say, they don't make an effort)
-The MC seems too stupid/mediocre/correct to me and his goal feels like he overacts it
    - It has a lot of dialogue, which is good if you are looking for a story that has +18 additions, but I feel that the author is not executing it well.

In particular I do not recommend this game, if you are looking for a complex story with those +18 additions, this is not your game. If you are looking for something generic and with little plot development you can play it, at least you will like it to a certain extent.

This is my opinion after playing it up to version: v0.9.96. This does not mean that my opinion is worth more or less than that of others, it is simply my point of view after playing this game. On the other hand, I emphasize that even if they release updates, I doubt I will play it again and the character I hate the most, who has the worst personality, but not because she is bad, but because it seems that they put the minimum effort into creating her is the one who works in the cat cafe, I had never hated a character like that in my life.

    Summary (SCORE: 6)
    o Character Design/Visual: 7/10
    o Background music/sound: 9/10
    o Plot: 4/10
    o Animation: 7/10
    o +18 Scenes: 7/10
    o Gameplay: 6/10
    o Interface: 8/10

    Shocker

I don't leave reviews often - but damn did I enjoy this one enough to leave one. That's also my excuse for this review probably being all over the place and not formatted well.

So first off - the theme is pretty generic and if you dissect it with too much logic it's dumb. Guy gets powers by fucking girls - sometimes. If this game tried to take itself too seriously it probably wouldn't work. But it does work.

Having said that, it takes itself just seriously enough to lay the foundation for a pretty damn good story that has some humor a dash of drama and some great build up. It kept me intrigued and wanting to know where it was going and what was going to happen next.

This isn't a quick fap game but once you get to them the scenes are pretty good.

I have only done one playthrough (just finished part 1) so I don't know how much room for decisions and altering the plot there really is but even if its minimal the game does a great job of making it feel like your choices have an impact.

    Now for some negatives:

The "open world" aspect or whatever you want to call it feels... weak. Very weak in comparison to other aspects of the game. It kind of feels like it's just there to be there and doesn't offer anything unique that could have been done in a better way.

As much as the story kept me intrigued - there are some issues with the writing itself. Not terrible by any means but it's pretty mid-level with some minor spelling and grammar issues here and there.

Because of the nature of the story and pathing it did feel like I was potentially missing stuff in my playthrough - and I dont mean good vs bad choices. More so that there isnt enough time late game to do and finish everything. Or maybe it's better put: I dont know what or if I missed things.

Also for some context: I def cheated in this game. Boosting stats and money with save editor for the sole purpose that training and working felt like a waste of time which could be put to better use elsewhere. I can see why the dev did the way they did - makes the game feel more interactable I guess? But I just dont like it.

Final thoughts: Bro play this shit. It's good. 4/5

PS - hurry up and release part 2. You got a new fan.

I don't like VN games. But this one DAMN, it's on of the best hentai games out there. The story, animations, content are on top, I hope to see even more content added to the game, since I'm already done with the story.
