I need to hear your opinions. Which game is better? I'll Borne or Sengoku Battle?
Also, what's different in this game besides characters? Is this game a significant improvement compared to I'll Borne? I'm asking because depending on the answer(s) I'll play one of them.
I mean, just play both.
H wise, they're identical format and more or less content, and I don't know what you're into. Look at the CGs and decide which one has the hotter characters.
I think the Passive skills system that Fable added and Sengoku kept is a significant improvement. Otherwise, the games are mechanically very similar. I'llborne is a little easier because they hadn't nerfed magic quite as hard and you can still just Shaman every enemy. Sengoku as a result has a more balanced and varied strategy but is harder, which is more fun if you're into that. For some people, a significant perk of I'llborne is that there are no alter characters so you can capture every seedbed in a single run once you're strong enough. The progression is significantly simpler and more or less linear as well. Getting the full experience of Sengoku requires multiple runs and probably a strategy guide (included in the translation!). For some people that's a bigger turnoff than others.
Translation quality wise, kind of a mixed bag. IIRC I'llborne has the opening scenes for all characters done, which is where most of the story is, but all the repeat scenes are still raw MTL and it's old DeepL so it's garbage. Sengoku has more complete translation of fewer seedbeds, and Gemini MTL of the rest, which is hit or miss but overall readable.
EDIT: Oh yeah, and technically, Sengoku is not complete yet. I still need to translate DLC 4 and upload it. I'llborne has been complete for years.
