    Review for GothHouse (Chapter 1)

GothHouse is a strong and enjoyable start to what looks like a promising spin-off of FurrHouse. I thoroughly enjoyed my time with Chapter 1, and it’s clear that the developer has put a lot of effort into expanding the universe while maintaining the charm and tone of the original. We’re introduced to several new Avalonians—many of whom were not present in FurrHouse—which helps this story stand on its own while still feeling connected to its roots.

The art style remains consistent with FurrHouse, but I actually think the renders in GothHouse are a noticeable step up. The character designs, lighting, and overall composition feel a bit more refined, which enhances the presentation and atmosphere nicely.

In this story, the main character takes on the role of a Housekeeper in a newly forming House, and she comes across as capable and competent, yet with plenty of room to grow. While she can sometimes feel a bit overpowered due to her Crow Power, there’s an interesting balance to this ability, as overuse appears to come with drawbacks. At the moment, players don’t have control over when or how to use this power, and I think adding that choice would deepen both gameplay and character development. It would be fascinating to see how the MC’s decisions to use or restrain her power could shape her evolution over time.

One of the highlights for me was the dynamic between the MC and Kaya. Their interactions feel natural, engaging, and full of potential for future emotional depth. I’m really interested to see where their relationship goes as the story progresses.

The music and sound design complement the narrative well. They add to the overall mood without overpowering the scenes, helping immerse the player in the world of GothHouse.

All in all, Chapter 1 delivers a solid foundation with appealing visuals, interesting characters, and a well-paced story that sets up plenty of intrigue for future updates. I’m looking forward to seeing how the narrative develops and what new challenges and relationships await in later chapters.
