VN - Ren'Py - Grandma's House [Part 4 v0.57] [Moonbox]

Grandma's House is yet another game with a family setting and potential harem. The MC's parents are dead and the sister is also believed to be dead after an airplance crash (I call it now, since the body of the sister was never found she will return eventually) and after college the MC returns to his grandma who has the face of an older woman but the body of a very curvy 30 year old, as grandmas usually have. Then there are two sexy and curvy aunts, a very young cute cousin, her equally cute and petite friend, a milf neighbor, a pretty girlfriend from the MC's college days (who is potentially pregnant based on player input!) and a few others.

Grandma's House starts out somewhat misleading. Early on you may feel this is yet another game where things will escalate very quickly. But over the course of the game you will realize that the game has two very different patterns:

- extreme slow burn and lots of teasing with almost any character that may mean something - so basically all the main love interests
- extremely superficial sex with irrelevant side characters, the action here is almost always more or less instant and more or less pointless, these scenes merely exist to balance out the lack of action with most main characters

So if you hope that the game will focus on the main love interests then be prepared for lots and lots and lots of teasing and lots and lots and lots and lots of dialogue.
There are a few heavy petting scenes with the cousin relatively late into the current build (0.9) and her cute friend, at the end of the current update also with one of the aunts and the cousin in a kind of threesome (but not really). For the most part it's your typical progression route that so many VNs use. Which means as late as update 0.9 there are still 0 (!) actual sex scenes with any (!) of the main love interests. Only some intense fooling around with a select few of them.

Slow burn is not necessarily a bad thing of course, but here it feels a bit forced since all the characters are 100% into the MC (of course) and there's zero doubt where things will end. There is no reluctance really, I feel the game teases things only to spread out main content and to keep people waiting. And to keep people somewhat happy the game throws random girls at the player that mean more or less nothing. I don't care too much for that approach.

In my opinion it would be a lot better to focus on the actual main love interests, but that of course means that things would need to progress a bit faster and that in return would mean the game would overall be shorter.

This game also features yet another MC who has a horse among his ancestors. I really don't know why devs keep doing that. It looks silly. It is silly. Oral sex looks ridiculous, these women all need to have jaws they can unhinge like a snake does when it swallows prey. It's neither sexy nor good looking, it's just silly in my opinion.

The female characters are a mixed bag for me. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but several women here are very unattractive in my opinion. At least you can reject everyone you don't like. The game tries to give the females wildly different body types, petite and cute, curvy, more or less chubby and even very overweight. There is also a very short older woman.

While kinks are almost entirely optional, especially with the main characters, certain side characters have mandatory and unskippable kinks like anal sex and you will only find out when you trigger the scene. So if you don't like that you will have to avoid a few side characters like the literal Karen in the coffee shop and the Asian masseuse who, in a later scene, is fixated on anal sex with no alternative to choose from after vanilla sex before that.

Again, with main characters you always have a choice (so far), which is commendable. I wish the same could be said about certain side characters. But at least the main characters always have options, not that you interact with them all that much of course.

The game has no animations and no music, which is regrettable. Especially the lack of animations is surprising.

You will also have to REALLY like the grandma, since the MC has many, many scenes with her but zero action so far. So it's lots of dialogue with her. But of course characters (including the grandma) are fine with sleeping in the same bed as the MC and cuddling etc. and the MC even sees his grandma naked here and there. And yes, there are massages etc... you know the drill.

Grandma's House is the archetypical ultra slow burn tease that literally makes no sense given how super thirsty all the females are for the MC.
And if you don't like the grandma then you'll be out of luck, you can't avoid any of her numerous dialogue heavy scenes. So check out her character model and see if you're ok with her.

Overall Grandma's House is a game that mostly disappointed me. The action you get is more or less of the pointless variety, and the lack of animations doesn't make things better. There is little progress with the actual main love interests, the intimate scenes are just static renders with very average narration and dialogue and you will have to play your own music in the background unless you prefer the silence.

On the plus side Grandma's House is almost entirely a very wholesome experience. The MC is "nice", unless the game makes him spank or "punish" a few side characters, but you can avoid these interactions by rejecting the side character.
However, the game never really tells you what's coming and thus you may see things you don't care so much for. As mentioned above only the actual main characters have optional kinks here and there, so nothing is forced upon you with them. Only some side characters have options here and there and you never know when you may get options with them.

If you like extreme slow burn games with teasing for all the major love interests and if you like to read lots and lots of slice of life dialogue about nothing (the game has no story!), then Grandma's House could be something you enjoy. Especially if you like wholesome games where (so far) all major relationships are based on love or at least romance.
However, my advice is to maybe wait for the next few updates so there is more meaningful progression for the main characters. I would guess that at least one of the aunts and her daughter have made good progress as of chapter nine, since things have gotten really close at the end of the current update and there's literally nothing left other than the final step. But you will get that scene only close to the literal end of the current update after hours and hours of content. So patience is required.

If you expect animations, a tease and slow burn that don't outstay their welcome and a game that focuses on the main characters instead of frequently adding inconsequential side characters (to give the player some action), then Grandma's House may turn out to be a frustrating experience you have little fun with.

And if you want only very traditionally attractive women in your game then Grandma's House may offer you a few potential love interests you may not care for at all - but you can reject them. If you don't always need traditional beauty and if you like lots of variety then Grandma's House has a lot of different body types, ages and skin colors to choose from however!

As always it's best if you try it out for yourself. But I would guess that people who prefer a game to have a story, animations and non glacial progression for the actual main love interests may have a hard time enjoying this.
If you don't mind or enjoy slow burn, teasing, lack of scenes with major love interests in favor of interactions with irrelevant side characters and if no animations are ok for you then Grandma's House offers hours of wholesome content.

This reminds me of WVM, same pattern different environment. It started well and interesting but after some time it gets annoying and tiresome, especially with the cringe dialogues, every MC joke and flirt are poorly written. I like the variety of women but since they are pretty stupid and act like MC is the only male on the planet, they get tiring as well.

So far this game seems to be going great. Updates are regular and in good size (I guess it can be better in the case of size, if the dev decides to hire some help at some point but it's his choice).
Story is lovey-dovey so that gets a lot of points in my book.
Renders are gorgeous.
There are ballance between teasing scenes and sex scenes, and thanks to this ballance sex scenes have a lot of impact when they eventually do come.
I wish the best to the dev and I hope that he can continue in this path, not succumbing to the temptation to exploit his supporters.

Awesome, there were so many ladies and its easy to skip a few that are not in your tastes without feeling that you're missing so much content, and there's character development so its not straight to doing the did that way it feels way more rewarding getting to it. I love what you're doing, please keep it up.

This a stereotypical made-for-fap, ren'py title. The writing is generic, the characters jump at the first chance to suck the MC's' cock (both figuratively an literally), and the renders are quite average. This is popcorn porn true an true - not exactly bad but definitely not of any type of quality.

I got what I was promised, a simple storyline without overbearing or weird ass dramas that are not often realistic. The game is fun, the render are good and you can bang every girls and even reject some of them if they are not your type. Variety of girls and no Ntr, which means MC get the most focus and I don't have to waste my time with shorter update. Most importantly, it a classic harem.

Overall the game is very good. Render quality and relationships make up for lack of full animations. Writing is nothing groundbreaking and takes the usual liberties needed to have a harem in the first place but is handled well and the pacing is kept tight but not so tight that women just throw themselves at you and you do get some actual relationship building. The main character isn't just a dick with legs, which is nice to see, that said the proportions may turn some folk off, but most every negative with the game is outweighed by the abundance of positives.

Huge variety in women lots of shapes, sizes, ages, ethnicities. I have to take a star away for a couple of reasons. I don't like being forced into content and as someone into amazons, which is criminally underserved on the site, being forced into femdom (though admittedly it's very light femdom and is still very much tolerable) to fully to enjoy the only amazon in the game is a bit of a hit, there is an option to dom her but it also ends the relationship, I'm hoping in the future we get more content with her and the relationship evolves (which is where it seems to be going) but that double whammy takes away from an otherwise good time.

The game is awesome alot of characters to choose.The Main character isn't cocky like many of renpy games.Overall this game is simply amazing not any cons from perspective I have high hopes for this game.

Truly love this story. I say story and not game, because the characters are deep and well defined and you can't help but get attached. It's wonderful how caring and close the characters get, and MoonBox ticks all the right boxes with caresses to the face, hugs, love and all the good stuff.

The MC isn't cocky or cheesy in the way so many games play out, he's a funny guy and makes people laugh, including me. Each character has their own story and the MC effortlessly fits into them without it being trite.

All around a feel-good, homely, caring and loving tale. Maximum kudos to MoonBox for his vision and storytelling.

For a relatively new game, ton of content, enjoyable dialogue , story is average, but the dialogue makes up for it, models are good, story average, scenes good, dialogue good, and seems like there will be a good variety of fetishes, without the heresy of NTR, thank god for not including that garbage. 5 stars fam.

Game looks good and has great scenes and fetishes so far. The dialogue and game-ness leave something to be desired. Take it for what it's worth, some shameless trips to pound town with every woman the MC meets. I do recommend it.

This game, as the 5 star review suggests, is excellent!

Here is what works for this game:

1. Lots of women to chase
2. Hot models, and tons of body types for everyone's liking. Also, a healthy mix of all skin colors (white, brown, yellow and black)..mmm!
3. A shitload of content
4. Incest! (Aunts and cousins for now, hopefully Nana to follow. There is also 2 mothers and their respective daughters you can pursue together)
5. Good fetishes - Lactation, pregnancy, urination (with variations) and mild femdom. Best part is they are not done in an overbearing or overwhelming way. they are there for your enjoyment and can be easily avoided.
6. The dialogs and situations are pretty good, for a porn game. There is some emotional stuff, but again, light and not overbearing.

All in all, a hot game definitely worth playing! The setup allows for a lot of possibility of interesting interactions between the ladies and MC.

I would like to see some mild NTR flavors as well, maybe with Omar and Jamila, and would love to see the MC cuck Jada's husband in front of him (hopefully Aaliyah and Jada both get fucked by MC in front of him while the cop lady assfucks him)

I downloaded this VN due to the high rating, but found it largely disappointing.

The positives:

• There is a ton of content. There are a large number of characters (almost every single one is a LI), many of whom are quite attractive, and hours of game/story play.
• The renderings are solid, and look pretty good for the most part.
• There is also a very large amount of sexual content. The primary LIs, which consist of MC's grandma, aunts, and cousin, are all-slow burn story lines that are clearly building towards sexual relationships, though as of this release (0.07), there is no sex yet with any of them. However, there are more than a dozen side characters, almost all of whom you can choose to have sex with at least once. There are also a fairly wide range of fetishes available, all of which you have the choice whether to engage in or not.

The negatives:

• There are no animations in this game, which is surprising considering the size of the download.
• This is personal preference, but I found a large number of the characters to be fairly unattractive. It is clear that the dev is trying to offer a wide variety of LI types, in terms of age, race, and body type. However, several of the characters have really unnatural-looking bodies. A bigger turn-off for me is that several of the LIs have the appearance of minor children. I know some people are into that, but that is a major no-no for me.
• The writing is...not good. There is very little originality in the story - MC's parents die, he goes to live with sexy relatives, shockingly finds himself developing sexual relationships with all of them, while banging any number of side characters along the way. There is a ton of dialogue, and it is largely free of typos and spelling errors, but so much of it is incredibly cheesy and cringe-inducing. If the dev took out every repetitive line of dialogue where the MC and his relatives are constantly telling each other how much they love one another, or his grandma saying "my baby boy," this VN would probably be at least an hour shorter. It feels like half of the game is just MC and his grandma repeating the same lines about how wonderful the other one is.
• While the slow-burn build up to sexual relationships with MC's family members is one of the strongest aspects of the game, the relationships with the side LIs is the exact opposite. Like so many games, all of the side characters are instantly in love with MC and his magical giant dong. For most of them, within a couple lines of dialogue, the MC is immediately having sex with them. An example of this is when the MC enters a coffee shop and sees a woman belligerently berating the girl behind the counter. MC immediately pulls the woman into the bathroom and sodomizes her as "punishment", which she seemingly has no objection to. A number of the LIs let the MC know immediately that they are virgins (despite being adults), yet they immediately want him to take their virginities, usually moments after meeting him. There is no build-up whatsoever to these scenes, which start to feel repetitive pretty quickly.
• Every male character who is shown or talked about in this VN, besides the MC and one of his friends (who appears in maybe two brief scenes), is a complete asshole. At least half a dozen female characters are married to an abusive and/or cheating husband, which leads them to need MC to "save them," almost always in a sexual fashion. That would be a fine story device for one or maybe two characters, but the dev keeps repeating the same scenarios over and over.
• There is no conflict for the MC in this game whatsoever. There are no challenges or struggles for him to overcome, and no problems to solve. All of the female characters are seemingly willing to immediately commit themselves to him sexually, and nobody cares that he is banging dozens of other women or has any issue with him being insistent that they not have relationships with anyone else. MC does not need to sneak around, as none of his LIs care that he is bringing home and banging a revolving door of women, and nobody finds it strange when they encounter the MC naked in bed with one of his relatives. Every single character basically falls head over heels with MC as soon as they see him.

Overall, this game is fairly average. The build-up with the primary LIs is by far the best and hottest part of the game, and was the only thing that kept me playing to the end, even though by the end I began skipping through most of the dialogue, something I never do when playing games like this. When it comes to the side characters and story lines, it is clear that the dev is going for quantity over quality.

This VN has several things that grant this rating, like:

- Graphics - With some limitations due to hardware, all scenes have a manicured look.
- Story - Both the story and the writing are of exquisite quality. Dynamic dialogues, character building and quite detailed personalities.
- Humor - This is by far one of the best features of this game and it's developer. All the many jokes are of good taste, in character and very funny.

Then there's the fantastic way that this developer participates in the thread, with a fantastic sense of humor and genuine interest in the fan base.

I'm FatGiant, and I recommend this game.

One of the best harem themed games out there. Story is good, its more like a rollercoaster but you get to pick who sits beside you. Only complain is that u get blue balled with the family arc but good things take time i guess. 15+ girls to choose! Pretty fken good tho i think its coming to the point where adding more would hurt the story. Renders are top notch and so are the models. Animations could be improved.

The story is slowly building up into something very amazing can't wait for future events that have been set into motion through the choices such as the college girlfriend potentially coming into the picture, the first girl you meet on the plane having a route, the cousin who is in love with the mc is adorable along with her friend and the younger dark skin girl (can't remember her name) are my favourites to along with the neighbour and aunt oh and the bar girl and her family, ok there's to many great characters and potential in the future, almost forgot about the Asian girls at the massage place and Omar the freaking weirdo

A charming feel-good slice of life VN which I really wanted to like more than I did.

The Good:

They are very good looking, decently proportioned, different looks and body types that look great. some are pretty recognizable but that's not a big deal.

Somewhat interesting characters with noticeably different personalities.

Well done, looks great, plenty of different things for different people. a strong point.


The Mediocre:

Pretty good at some points but gets pretty bad at others, especially the interactions with specific characters. overall It's a decent job.


The Bad:
-Grandma
I'm sorry but everything about her is just... meh.
The dialogue gets really stupid and repetitive (queue "oh baby you're wonderful" 1000 times), she is by far the least interesting character of the whole cast, and while I very rarely skip dialogue - she made me do it.
It's a problem since she gets so much screen time being a major focus of this VN.

-The amount of LI's
It's too much, you keep meeting new characters every 3 minutes.
The cute bartender? oh here's her mom BTW.
Talking to her mom? oh here's her twin daughters.
Your cousin? she has a friend. the girl that had a crush on you? so did her mother.
It's unnecessary and honestly drags the game down, I'd take 5 focused, well written LI's with a bunch of content and experiences and maybe an actual connection over 20 different LI's you have no real chance to experience properly.


Your Experience May Vary:
-A Feel-good VN
There's no real conflict, no major issues, no consequences to your choices (other than continue path/stop path) everything works out great! everyone is likeable and it's all smiles and sunshine.
Don't worry about feeling down or conflicted, this VN wouldn't allow it.
I find it nice, there's plenty of super serious heavy VNs out there, it does however limits the connection you can develop with the characters.
It's a choice with upsides and downsides, depends on what you're looking for at the moment.

-everyone seems to fly towards MC's dick
If 1 is the MC running around town trying to fix problems and make LI's fall in love with him, and 10 being everyone is in love with the MC and/or wants to fuck him immediately - this game is 15 with some family members being the only ones taking their time.
For me - a really weak point.

-Young looking old people
a common thing, but kind of surprising to find in a VN so focused on mature women.
Basically 40-50-60 years old women looking like they are 30 with some wrinkles.
I didn't mind as it's not a big preference of mine, it might even be a strong point for some.


To sum it up-
a charming feel-good slice of life VN with no real focused story, a wide (too wide) cast of characters, great sex scenes, and while somewhat inconsistent dialogue quality wise it is pretty good overall.
Grandma is the least interesting and likeable character, and the large amount of LI's unfortunately means you'll probably not see too much content if you have a strong preference to a specific LI.
Overall It's a fun, charming experience with a lot of strong points that unfortunately lacks focus and suffers from some pretty big problems.

I'd give it a 3 if I'm being honest, but there's plenty to like and I honestly believe with more focus and maybe some work on old content and fixable issues this VN could be a really great one, which is usually not the case.
So i'll gladly give it a 4, for some very decent work and great potential, looking forward towards new updates.
