VN - Ren'Py - Grandma's House [Part 5 v0.70] [Moonbox]

First of all, with a single glance at the heading-image for this game, we all immediately know what to expect. A mindless harem game about a ridiculously well hung MC, without any male competition, so every female is going to throw themselves at him after he took the time to greet them.

This game surprised me, though.

In between the mindless sex-scenes, this game takes the time to make the characters show genuine affection towards each other and properly develop their relationships. The little touches, the small gestures, the loving dialogues, all make this just... fucking wholesome. That scene where the MC comes home with his new junker car, and the Granny asks him if he's gonna make the car "go Vroom-Vroom", made me genuinely laugh. Simply because I couldn't get past how cute this woman was while talking to the grown-ass man she had taken care of since he was a little boy. It sounds ridiculous, but there are countless scenes like that in this game, making it very clear how these characters genuinely care for the MC, instead of being the usual mindless Bimbos who just have the hots for his 12-inch schlong.

In addition to that, the dev implemented one of the most user-friendly choice-systems I have ever seen in a RenPy Game. When you are prompted with the decision of whether or not you want to get with any given character, it rarely happens immediately. The dev usually takes some time to set the scene and develop the relationship to a point where it makes at least some sense for them to fuck. By then, if you realize that the character is not your cup of tea, you DON’T have to reload a save to then hold the skip-key for an hour to get through everything you’ve seen since then. Instead, you get asked if you STILL want to do this. Some times, when you have to choose between being sub or dom in an encounter, you even get to try and change that decision in a later encounter! This is really well thought out, especially since this game offers models for basically every taste. Big, thin, tall, small, every conceivable ethnicity, you name it!

The only reason I’m giving four instead of five stars, is the dirty talk and the repetitiveness. Every sexual encounter is basically the same. The dev did not get really creative with them. Same with the dirty talk. For some reason, while I get to make choices and inputs on a lot, I do not get proper choices for how some of the key characters call my MC. When you get with the first mother-daughter-duo, you even talk about getting with the mother and becoming the daughter’s new daddy. So, it makes sense for the daughter to call you “Daddy”. But when the mother, who’s roughly twenty years older than you, calls you that as well… that’s just weird. That’s a massive missed opportunity, in my book. I guess the Dev just likes women to call him that, so he hardcoded it into basically every encounter.

TL/DR: The gold standard for a mindless, aimless, porny daz power trip wholesome harem game. Do not expect interesting story beats. You might as well queue up the Pornhub jingle every time this jank-af looking chad protagonist walks into a new situation. Scene content is strong, but the narratives understandably lack any sort of meaningful sexual tension or build up. It is fast food and the gals are all eating the same foot-long.

This game isn't perfect and if you're looking for animations or a deep plot, you will be disappointed. The reason why I'm giving it five stars regardless is that it's so hilariously wholesome.

The gameplay is really simple and there are no hidden stats or any kind of gameovers. The choices you make only determine what content you want to see. Skipping content mostly doesn't have any negative consequences except in some cases where several characters content is tied together. But even that is minimal.

The renders are good and there is excellent variety in characters, but as mentioned before, no animations. I'm fine with that, since I'd rather have enough of good renders and decent sized and regular updates than animations, which are quite work intensive.

The writing is where this game shines. It's not deep or very emotional, but it does exactly what it sets out to do excellently. The characters all have their own personality and somehow the writing manages to let one suspend ones disbelief while both the size of the harem and the absurdity of the escapades keep on ramping up. The game even explores some nastier kinks without giving up on the wholesomeness.

And that is why it's five stars for me. I'm fine with dark and nasty too, but it's really fun to see someone manage this level of absurd debauchery and some dark themes with certain characters while keeping up the atmosphere of light wholesomeness. The MC is well calibrated to be a confident chad up for anything without being the slightest bit douchy (unless you want to in certain scenes). As a rare exception on this site, consent is consistently handled well in this game.

Yeah it's all a ridiculous power fantasy, but the writer knows what they're writing and the tone is just right for the type of game they're making and simplicity of the gameplay suits this game very well. If you're interested in a fun ride with a huge cast of surprisingly well developed characters, try it out. Don't expect anything super deep though. Even if the writing is good, the amount of characters doesn't allow for huge amount of depth for most of them.

CONCLUSION

Nice easy breezy game, there's no secret/murder mystery/disappearance/blackmail plot. It's the MC relaxing and dealing with small events. Mostly likable side cast and hot situations.

I'd say for those that just want to play an AVN without wanting to strangle characters or the dev, waiting six months for an update and several versions for scenes.

Too many woman with no sense of depth or even very original. There are only a handful of really fun and interesting characters in this game IMO and the developer should have kept to those only by also providing some story or background to those characters.

As it stands every day the NPC wakes up, screws around sleeps and rinse and repeat. IMO most great games are built on something that is believable and interesting. This game has neither, some great models sure but the developer looses focus and provides updates full of waffle...if its only for the fap, go watch actual porn, its better...

Current version, not sure why I bother following this, I guess some characters are a bit more interesting that others, but overall this game is just simply bad because it has no reason to exist save to FAP to ludicrous nonsense that at this point has actually gotten pretty boring and stale. Its all more of the same and what was "funny" kinda, is no longer. The game really does not deserve the rating its got, there have come and gone much better options.

great AVN i love it for one thing Moonbox seems to out the updates really fast even if they are small or medium he still seems to keep us all wanting more from his AVN by trickling down the updates . the story and renders are both great the story has a little bit of everything little bit of laughter and little bit of sass and happiness the only thing that i would say holding it back from being great is the fact it needs animations or more of them instead of click animations . other than that it is a a great AVN i love it and look forward to more

what a masterpiece! this game keeps surprising me with every turn, i cannot believe how much fun i had playing it, the airplane scene with karen anf her husband made me chuckle with laughter, also plenty of amazing screenshots for a cool panorama screensaver.

A good game overall that with very nice renders, the writing well it's there not that bad not good either for myself, best part of this game is the romancable girls which are quite a lot and they aren't a copy paste to one another that go along with quite a number of kinks, if someone hasn't tried it yet you should it's worth the time!

An absolute gem of a game. The renders are a bit rough in the beginning, but get much much better as the story progresses. Tons of girls, tons of romance, tons of sex, whats not to like?

The girls are all super unique with different body types and personalities, which is quite refreshing. The writing is great, some good humor, and has good pacing with the main family.

It's definitely one of those games where you turn your brain off and just enjoy the ride, which in my opinion are super fun. Highly highly recommend it!

This is one of the most interesting games I have found, the developer is doing great job with the story and the rendering, I'm sure everyone is waiting for one scene, but every update is super great, and it keep you on your toes.

I went along with the premise through most of the current versions, but the story is just too stupid to want to follow any more.

And why on earth make "nanna" the main characer of the story that the mc rotates around? The description even goes out of it's way to state "no sex with nanna yet!" - as if that's a thing of some importance?

Edit for part 3: some scenes are starting to feel repetitive, we gotta be at 10x pussy/anal sex scenes for some of these girls already at this point, but I am not counting, I hope they get control over the repetitiveness and focus on making scenes for the older relationships when they matter only.

I finished this game like a month or two ago, and forgot to review it.
Its a really good game, it does most things right, Great relation build up with the girls, its not each girl you meet you fuck immediately like some of these idiot writers.

Still i recomend the game but dont except a mind blowing story or A class animations.

Has a good variety of content and girls. Story isn't great and mostly just revolves around MC saying hi to a girl, she's immediately trying to fuck, then says she's a virgin, scene, and repeat. The exception to that cycle are the girls in the family which is basically the same with extra steps.

Love the healthy honest polyamory in this game and many of the character's personalities. The dialog is sweet and loving; an utopia that we wish we all could have. There are many story lines waiting for more in v0.27 and I look forward to future updates!

Game is fun, the renders are very hot and the 0.16 version is pretty long and has a lot of content, my only problem with the game has to do with the pacing, which while being realistic and an overall positive, means the recent updates feel kind of shallow. It's still an amazing game, and you should download it, but maybe give it a few updates before you check up on it again.

A great example how not to make a porn game.

The sex scenes are all boring no animations very bad.
The story is non existent it´s go to a stranger fuck her and then go home to ugly grandma main love interest she looks so ugly.
The main character has no personality and is one of the worst looking ones, it feels like a parody.
The dialogue is boring.

Well, what about this fest of random, mindless sex? Just adding dozens of women, just for a few boring, monotonous, repetitive sex scenes?
Story: Nothing to draw attention to, just a few dialogues to separate one scene from the next. Totally cliché, and nothing we haven't seen in hundreds of other games.
Models: Many of them, seen in several other games, changing the appearance a little, which left them infinitely inferior to those seen in other games.
Renderings: Decent, but nothing we haven't seen in so many other games.
Animations: Non-existent, it's like reading a magazine. If had, maybe I'd give it two stars.
Sexual content: If you're one of those people who's just looking for content for a quick jerk off, not caring about the rest, this game is for you. But if you're looking for something deeper, forget it. Just look at the absurd and unnecessary amount of female characters, there's no way to make a good story out of this pussy festival.
