Save file bullshit? If you're referring to the query from RenPy when you open a save file made on a different machine, that's now built into RenPy - removing it is... problematic and not really worth the effort. If you don't delete the tokens folder, it shouldn't be a major issue - it's really not that difficult to click a confirmation button - is it?

If you're referring to something else, you're on your own. I can't read your mind.

You should really reconsider this. You are enabling a very dangerous practice. YOU, may be a safe person to download from, but, those that do, are always putting themselves into serious danger.

Besides the security risk, there's the personalization issue. You have played the game, made your choices, said yes to this, to that, used this or that name. Whomever downloads your save, is stuck with all that.

Then comes the third issue, the bypassing of the story. As little there is of it, it still matters to understand why things happen. By providing an escape to the future, you are also destroying any chance of them understanding what's going on. Yes, it is a self-inflicted wound, but should we enable that?

This creates the fly by trollish attacks that we all know so well, the stupidifying reviews, the endless explaining of what to do when a Part ends. Because they used an Escape to the Future Save from some enabler, they don't have any clue of how the game works even when they are playing the most recent update.

Sure, they are free to destroy their game. Except that those of us that bother to help them here, are the ones having the trouble putting it back together, not YOU. Because by then you have gone somewhere else to enable this again.

So, I repeat. Thanks, but no thanks.

For those who are unable to load the correct safe files from the game.

In 95% of cases, it is sufficient to delete the persistent safe file.
After that, your save games should be able to be loaded again.

If you're on Linux (Debian based) you can find it at "Home/.renpy"

You don't need to empty the persistent or Tokens folder, just the files in Grandma's House folder.

MB really should include a save (or two) with each new part. At least, one all opt-in (and one all opt-out).

I want to believe it would help the save issues, but in realiy, it would probably lead to whining about having to see stuff people wanted to opt-out of. You cant win in these situations. (opting-out is another issue I will never understand. "buy the ticket, take the ride"-HST)

I think each update should be an episode or issue or something serialized and embrace the comic/novella aspect and find new ground from this "early access" 0.XX model.

Then, just keep going "forever," like a comic book.

There's only one Part 5 save that will work in Part 6. The one at the Save Now! screen at the end of Part 5. Just tested it with 0.83 and it works there as well
