Just to address some common themes in this thread....
1) No one cares what you like. This game, if it does not cater to your tastes, was not made for you, it was made for all the rest of us who do enjoy it. To be honest, no cares about you except your parents, and they are glad you finally moved out, so your Dad can get pegged without having to hide it. What do you think that tube of hemorrhoid ointment in the master bathroom was for, exactly?
2) Yes, you have to download each part to play the whole game. The reason why has been addressed multiple times by multiple people, and if you had an active brain cell, you would have looked that information up instead of polluting our pristine breeding discussions with your inane query.

It is worse, much worse. People, in certain areas of the world (that I'll leave unnamed) are being dissuaded from thinking. It is so bad that some of them don't even know what that even is. They are being told to obey and shut up. When faced with a question, they look automatically for someone to think for them and tell them what to do. There's no "Let's see if someone asked this before", or, "I'm sure I'm not the first to think of this", none of that. What there is is "Look a posting box let's say whatever the fuck is going in my head and ask all the inane questions I can't be bothered to think about and NEVER read the answers or even thank anyone for trying to answer".
Because, you know. Obey and Shut The Fuck UP. I wish it was a matter of reading. It is so much worse. Some areas are building an army of Zombies that seem to come out of the worst of the bottom shelf literature. They are guided solely by their vices.

I wish the dev, or a modder would combine parts 1-5 in a single game for those who'd like that.

It is a single game, but it's not one that the majority of the fanbase (paying or otherwise) can easily download in one go, so there's not much incentive for MB to do the extra work necessary for that, when it's not really that hard to just save in the right place and load the next game.
It's not like merging them would save that much space ... most of it is the images, and you wouldn't lose more than a handful of graphic files.
So yea, some modder might give it a go, but considering the size -- especially the eventual size, which probably will be near/over 35gb is HP is right -- even a modder might not see the need.

I know it's a single game, I meant a single package/executable...
The point is not to save space, the point is to be able to load any save from any point/scene, without having to memorize if that scene was in part 3 or 4 for example.
It would also be more fluid and coherent when you wanna play the game in one go, without closing and opening different files in order to continue..
Would be nice to have that option for those who want that.
Wish MoonBox could tell us if it's possible to do that.

It isn't at this point due to changes is coding. It would require MB to do a rework of at least part 1 and that won't happen until the game is finished (if then).

He has told us.
He also told us that the Parts aren't compatible at code level.
He said also that it isn't a work he sees as relevant or important enough to devote his time, instead of creating more content. When asked if he could do it after the game was done, he said that it was better to use that time to make another game.
All this is in this thread. Where? I dunno.
Let me also say, that arriving at a party when it's already 70% done, and asking questions about the choice of venue, is a bit late don't you think?
This one will stay as it is. Next game? Well, MB as learned a lot in the meantime, so, I'm sure he feels capable to start making new mistakes.
Just to be clear about the incompatible code, the game changed mechanics and simplified the code, changed the HUD and added a few new concepts. Good luck untangling all this.

That can even be quantified. After zipping with maximum compression, the total of the common files (executables + lib/* + renpy/* + game/gui/* + game/images/misc/* + game/images/ui/* + a handful of other files) reaches 131 MB.
So by skipping 4 copies of these common files, merging all 5 parts would save around 2% of the download size.
