Graphics engine that runs well on a Mac

I'm contemplating joining the whole game-making hype, I have no problems with picking up a game engine, but I'm still looking for something to make nice graphics and animations in. I started playing around with Daz3D, but its reliance in NVidia for rendering makes it unviable for me (ideally I want to do all the development on my macbook). Are there some engines, either with daz-like 3D graphics, or maybe with simpler anime-like graphics that would be suitable?

Some other options I'm currently downloading/testing/considering are MakeHuman and VRoid Studio

As for the art style, if it's not photorealistic, I'm thinking something like A House in the Rift, or maybe Pink Tea games - is it public knowledge what tools they're using?

I'll be grateful for any advice!

A House in the Rift and a ton of similar-looking games use something called HoneySelect. It's going to be infinitely more friendly on your system than DAZ.
