Ren'Py - Greenskins [v0.2.01a] [Deep Dimples]

Insanely deep story, great characters, realistic protagonist, phenomenal artworks, great combat for a Renpy game. The sex scenes could be more detailed but I'm content with it. 10/10 game! I was hesitant to play it cuz of the ork characters specially the mc being an ork (hybrid but ykwim) but damn was I wrong. The story was just as deep and the sex scenes were just as hot as they'd have been if the characters were humans, infact them being orks what make this game more unique than most.

I am giving this game a 5 stars because the stupid reviewer below played an UNAVOIDABLE NTR game, got mad and give it a 1 star rating for not having harem. Lol you seriously can't fix stupid.

Having said that, I like the build up where you try your best but its still not enough. And the women around you gets stolen. Story is good, just that like some other people have said, the game will benefit alot more from less grinding.

I really loved the premise of the game, but unfortunately the execution is needlessly obtuse and grindy. Events are few and far in between and you need to basically grind reputation day in day out until you eventually proceed or get a game over.

There is little explanation and nothing to do but click the same places on the map again and again.

It'd be a lot better if it were more story driven, but like this it is mostly bland and/or frustrating to "play".

Story and the concept is promising for sure but the game repeats itself in the most boring way. I don't know what was the thought process of putting a fully random repeating turn based combat in an average porn game which will end up blocking you to continue in story.

In addition to good renders and design, the author managed to convey the atmosphere of the world and the growing tension and hopelessness.

Unfortunately, the impression of the game is spoiled by the senseless grind and the lack of control over the character.
I will add that this is a kinetic novel and if you remove the meaningless grind, there will be very little content here.

A Good NTR game that does what it intends to i.e NTR.
While every other game is about MC whose father is dead or MC living with their land lady, This Game brings a world, characters and back story that actually gives a vibe that most Visual ovels lacks. You can easily see the work that goes behind the world, its history and the characters. Absolutely loves it.
So far in the story, the MC just get cucked by everyone and get cucked hard, never seen a NTR game that was this intense.
But I wish in future updates, we get some control over things because so far there is none.
And about the battle or fight, I just use Renpy command enemy_hp=0 to skip that so no issue. But without command, I can easily see that part breaking the momentum that the story sets up for us.

I like this game. Story is good. Scenes are great. Build-up for the ntr scenes are great and because of that you feel for the MC . MC is not a Wimp, he is like a underdog and I love that. And currently this is my favourite game.

Honestly this game is pretty good. Great world building and presentation with the assets. Its a bit lore heavy, but i actually found myself reading most of it (usually i'll start skip spamming if the dialog is drivel, not the case here!) The MC of this game feels really fleshed out compared to many others. Which leads me to my qualm.

My biggest criticism, is it feels like we are kind of rail roaded towards either a bad end or pyrrhic victory. Where the MC achieves his goals or doesnt, but is still all alone regardless. I felt motivated to do my best for this guy, win all the battles, study up hard, gain confidence. But alas, so far i haven't seen the fruits of that labour.

I won't lower my rating as this game is in progress, and is doing good at what it is so far, but ultimately hope that we can get out of the depression porn route, and open up a new one for MC come the future.

While this game isn't 10/10 it is certainty worth a playthrough.
I found it to be too verbose. Personaly it feels like actually important stuff is always buried under a lot of fluff forcing you to skip (or read and be a bit bored) and risk missing important stuff.
At the same time core story itself is very strong to the point what i even got hurt a bit. Like usually NTR games lean too hard into "too slow" or "she is a slut and always was" but this one is good (outside of being a bit too heavy with words, but that is just taste thing i guess).

Okay, so as an NTR enthusiast, I'm conflicted on this game. On the one hand, it's a well-written, engaging story that (at times) I forgot was a porn game. The art is good and the characters are, for the most part, likeable and interesting. It's a fresh take on a world with orcs - they are not just unthinking savages; they are warlike yes, but they have codes of honor and restraint, and they have complex "alliances" with other races. Goblins and humans at least. They're more like frenemies with the humans, who are just as war-like as the orcs, but still.

I'm still rating it 4 stars because I genuinely enjoyed it as a story/game. It's a bit grindy but not too bad. The combat is purely RNG-based so you might defeat the Champion on your very first try, which surprisingly doesn't make anyone react, but also might be beaten by a complete random, even after you're a strong, skilled warrior. But the story... the story holds it all together.

If you want to play a game that's actually quite enjoyable, with a good story and a complex, well-thought-out world, look no further. Unfortunately the NTR part (which is why I started playing, of course) is flat, predictable, and uninspired.

Edit: One additional note, there are no animations, though the description says there's one. Even the "animated" scene is just a slideshow (two pictures flipping back and forth to give the impression of thrusting, while the scene is described via text). There are a few subtle/interesting uses of the artwork, such as a character opening their eyes in the middle of a scene to look at something - easy to miss if you're just reading the text. Animation is no easy task, so I don't hold this against the creator too much. But it would be nice to have some actual animations.

Finished up to 0.1.03a and I had an excellent experience so far.

TL;DR: Interesting story, decent sex scenes, good art. I recommend playing the game (especially if you like NTR).

For those still reading, here are my thoughts in no particular order:

• Story: The lore is relatively unique and I’m interested to learn more about the world. I’m more of a play for the story kind of guy so I wouldn’t mind longer exposition dumps/backstories (I know author is planning to include some sort of codex next update so hooray). It’s only fair that we get to experience the author’s vision in its entirety. In terms of the plot, I like where things are heading. MC’s life is heading downhill with the women “betraying” (they seem to be pursuing their goals against MC’s wishes) him and people plotting all around him. MC’s birth and circumstances also play an important role in what he is and how his society is affected and I’m liking it so far.
• Art: I really like what the characters look like and I hope the art will continue to improve over development. One suggestion/gripe is that I wish the sprites/models were better detailed or at least more detailed in the sex scenes. Also making the art more gritty/dirty might help set the mood for a darker tone.
• Sound: Pretty minor as I don’t usually play with sound but the sex sfx are a nice touch. They’re above the stock moaning sfx and I like it.
• Mechanics: Combat is kind of confusing (I kinda glossed over the details and save scummed so the author is at no fault here) but relatively straightforward. It can be grindy at the start but definitely gets easier over time. There’s also a currency but I don’t think they were used for anything (other than required trips to the tavern to forward the story) and were basically there to help you build relation with factions. Maybe later on we can buy clothes and stuff with them? (Please let us change outfits and stuff for characters). There’s also a corruption, stress, and insanity mechanic that was introduced towards the end. I’m excited to see how they affect gameplay later on. Will corruption change dialogue in sex scenes? Will it lead to more depravity? Is there a benefit to keeping it low? Will bad stats lead to bad ends or game overs? Guess we’ll see.
• Sex scenes: There were 4 main/long scenes iirc and several smaller/minor ones. Moving forward I hope we see more of Ursha and I’m praying of Ursha and Ada together. MC is mainly a voyeur during sex and it makes sense given the premise. I don’t really care if MC gets any sex as long as the story is good. Dialogue during sex is decent but I’m hoping we get more NTResque dialogue between the people fucking and less thoughts from the MC. It should be noted though that these thoughts help move the story forward and shape the MC so I won’t complain too much. More animation would also be appreciated later on but I think it shouldn’t be worried about too much. The little animation with sfx get the job done. Lastly, I want to add that I’m not a fan of female x multiple male scenes but I think there’s going to be plenty more given the plot. I just hope there’s more FM or FFM scenes with more NTR like dialogue.
• Grammar: Grammar, proper sentences, and natural sounding dialogue can make or break for me and this game does a decent job of that. There are however several grammatical errors and weird sounding language through the story and I believe that they can add up over time and pull you from the experience. I don’t want to sound snobby but please try and fix them later on if you can.

All in all, this is a pretty fucking good game and it’s worth a play. The story and art are good and the world we view through the MC’s eyes has me hooked. I can’t wait for you to finish the game and I’m really looking forward to your completed vision.

Visuals: good, Gameplay: great, Story: great, Characters: great, Scenes: good(MC needs more actions and probably will get more are he improves), Animation: None(Unless I missed something), Dialogue: good.

Full review:
This game has all the aspects needed in this fantasy and medieval genre. The game has a likeable MC, the characters around the MC are very naturally portrayed. The family members are trying to do what is needed for the family and the MC also does what he needs to do. The character build-up of the MC thus far is fantastic. The MC start up as someone weak, he needs to build his different qualities as the game goes by. The different dated events are also fun. The dialogues are intriguing and detailed on the plot(sometimes too detailed in my opinion).
The game has unavoidable ntr which was warned if you missed it somehow. The reason for the ntr is also very believable. The fighting system is quite innovatively done and enjoyable(can be a bit tedious at the start). The visuals of the game is good no animations though.
This game may remind you of kingdom of deception but it has less grind more directional(as in you know what to do and not do) and less unnecessarily slutty characters. A character who is slutty also has valid reason to be slutty.

Needs improvement:

1. Add animations​
2. Some dialogues are too long sometimes. Like the one with the redhead highlander dude.​
3. More MC sex scenes.​
4. Better explanation of the combat mechanic(it can be optional).​

In terms of story telling, writing, characterization, and world building, this is one of the best games on this site. Deep Dimples has painted a nuanced and interesting society that he reveals bit by and bit, and I find myself completely engrossed in the story.

This is not, however, a porn game so much as a game that happens to have porn it in. Yes, the game starts off with a sex scene, a pretty good one at that, but unlike most porn games the point of playing the game isn't to just collect all of the sex scenes.

The sex scenes in the game serve more to reinforce the themes of the game and reveal character motivation. I would say that for the most part, they sex scenes aren't there for fapping.

There's a lot of hand wringing about "is the NTR avoidable" from the usual crowd, to the point where the dev has to start off the game letting people know that no, it's not. But that isn't really to suggest that this is a game that lovers of NTR would enjoy, because I don't really see sex as the point of the game.

The game is trying to tell a story. The main character starts off as an outcast, the lowest of the low, and he rages at his position. That most of the sex scenes in the game are NTR is mostly because it's there to illustrate the MC's inability to fight back against his environment, that he lacks the power to make changes.

It's implied that this changes, given that the very first scene starts off with a flash forward. What remains to be seen is how things will change. Given the world being described, it's unlikely that this would be a quick and easy lvl 1 to 100 power fantasy.
