Guidelines on what is risky animated content?

Sorry if this is stickied somewhere, the nature of the questions has me terrified to enter into google or just getting flagged with grave misunderstandings XD. But hi, I'm thinking about creating content and before I get into it I wanted to kind of understand what content is risky in terms of legality or just wont be hosted on certain places. That said I'm making efforts to avoid these things rather than challenge the line (pushing for non-ethically taboo content while still going hardcore kink). I just feel it's REALLY important to know where the hard lines are and/or maybe some odd ones. Currently I'm a bit confused on what is fair game in animation as I see some crazy stuff exist on hentai sites wherever i go and I'm frequently left asking "is that legal?!?" kinda often (queue panicked history deletion). So I have a few specific questions, but I'm looking for the broad rules too (Right now all I know to avoid loli/shota which personally I have 0 desire to create content of).

[Currently I live in the US and as stated I'm not looking to push this type of content, but it'd be nice to understand just in case. All content is intended to be animation]

• What is the line of animal/anthro/furry? Are all legal? How accepted is each in hosting platforms? How does this factor in with made up creatures (Etc: tentacle monsters, orcs, dragons)? What if a human character has a nonhuman genitalia?

• Does selfcest/clones count as incest? Are both legal depictions?

• Do I need mosaic censors for certain regions? Are there interesting region rules to be aware of?

• I've seen sites give preemptive warnings to bodily fluids, is there anything to know or is that just a courtesy warning?

• is ABDL risky even if the characters are clearly depicted of age?

• Are there rules to consent situations? violence related content?

• Does 3D, due to realism, present different rules to 2D depictions?

• Any general things to know for a new creator?

Thanks in advance as deeply appreciate any help on this topic. I'm really scared to poke around blindly for these answers and I want to make sure I'm golden on never crossing a regrettable line that could come back to haunt me.

If you avoid pedo stuff, you should be mostly ok from legal point of view. Generally 2D "hand drawn" gets more leeway than "photo realistic" renders in that respect.

As far as other stuff that is banned on certain platforms, you need to consult the various terms and conditions yourself. But be aware that they can and do change at any moment and without notice, depending on where the winds of social justice are blowing from...

It also obviously depends on jurisdiction, but not only your jurisdiction but it may also depend on that of the viewer.

If you want to be absolutely sure, do NOT under any circumstances draw any women, but if you absolutely must, be sure to dress them in a niqaab or burqa. Men are fine, as long as they are normally dressed, including long pants or dress, long-sleeved shirt and appropriate headdress. Beards are optional but encouraged.

Generally the more realistic art is is the more it would adhere to the rules of what is generally legal or illegal with porn using real people as a guideline. The more cartoony it is the less risky it is. An extreme example would be stick figures. You can get away with anything in that style. So the more abstract the art the more you can get away with.

More specifically, most sites and countries have specific rules and laws on what exactly is allowed.

But be careful, this have to be weighted by the legality of pornography in the country.
Basically speaking there's four possibles cases :

• Pornography is not illegal (which don't necessarily mean that it's legal, it can just be not addressed by Law) ;
• Pornography is legal as long as it don't involve real persons ;
• It's legal to sell/buy/see/own pornographic material, but not to create it ;
• Pornography is illegal.

Only the first case, which is the most frequent, is totally safe, while the second vary ; the Law can, or not, include real life looking characters.

It also obviously depends on jurisdiction, but not only your jurisdiction but it may also depend on that of the viewer.

And the one of the platform used to promote/distribute/sell the game.

Globally, the two subjects to avoid are underage characters, like you said, and bestiality ; they are the most sensible subjects. As for none consensual sex, it depend. Generally are banned creation that make the apology of rape, but the notion of "apology" can vary drastically.

If you don't plan on selling retail copies in America your Location does not fucking matter. If you make a Game and just upload it to F95 anything goes. After that it depends on the Platforms you want to push it to.

the ones you might into real trouble with are the ones related to your country's legal situation and countries you might some day like to visit (especially ones with a authoritarian/religious/police rule). US is a sort of borderline example of all of those, but you probably have some idea what's allowed in your specific insane state (this because there are states with arcane laws about blowjobs etc). europe is generally safe about most stuff, although poland and hungrary are about an inch from dictatorship so who knows. russia basically has homosexuality criminalized in very vague terms, so if you have some gay content on your name in putin's archives it might turn nasty during a routine visit.

how likely are any of those? highly unlikely. but it's good to be aware what some authoritarian state might have your name connected with in their secret archives, so it doesn't come up when you crash a rental car in those countries and they run your name in the system.

what do some website's TOS say? no real consequences. they might kick you out but that's it.

Avoid pedo stuff. Illegal in many places. Even 2D non-photographic types can get you in trouble in some.
