Well... the hate he got was sort of on him due to slow updates and a bad last update, so "dealing with haters" would be simply a better release schedule and quality updates.
The dev that don't have their games leaked have a great relationship with their patrons and community, while Byte, atm, doesn't. This could also be solved with a better release schedule and quality updates.
Also the excuses don't mean anything, imo it's better to just not comunicate them at all and continue working on the game and give update on the state of the game. No need to go into why there was a delay of w/e. Nobody cares and honestly nobody believes it.

I think the hate is definitely because of him. He got called out before the last release here for splitting the update. He got butthurt by it and tried to justify his actions by saying it was coming very soon and... *checks notes*... It's still not here.
Ghosting his patrons, not delivering full update, combative attitude here (where I think many of his patrons/subs originally came from) is all compounding into what you said, a negative relationship with his community.
From my point of view, people don't post leaks from some devs because they respect the dev. I'm not getting that feeling from Byte. A lot of this I think is self-inflicted. Even small sub count devs who get their games leaked and posted quickly don't jump into the thread and start complaining about it. It's going to happen. I think if he had shorter updates/quicker release schedules I think people would be more open to waiting for public releases.

I see your point but his updates were still being leaked in 1 or 2 days in the past(2022-2023) even when he's really active and released regular updates every two months(before he got reported by ntr haters and patreon removed his page). So I don't know why but this guy's updates are always leaked very quickly.
Even some shitty AI games I follow on here don't get leaked for a week.

Pretty sure bytehog has a lot of bad rep around here. Not for just the delays, motorcycle excuses and other stuff, but he also sometimes goes on here and tries to combat people that questioning him. That actions probably contribute to those leaks.

A lot of bad reputation? Why? There is no reason for him to have an extra bad reputation. He does what every developer does when it comes to delays. Excuses. That's the only problem. And it is quite normal for him to respond to insults and false accusations. Someone even accused him of theft. Then that person admitted that it wasn't true and he only did it out of anger.
And as I said it was like this long before even when everything was fine, updates were still leaking in 1-2 days. So I think it's not about delays.
they don t complain about because there is no point,i will not change anything if they do it.

this is a incest question. if you end up in a alt universe where everyone's sex is reversed, and you hook up with your doppelganger of the opposite sex of you. is that incest or something else entirely?, and if there ended up with a bun in the oven what would you think would become of it?, nothing perfectly healthy, it be worse then an actual incest baby, or would it become like a forest gump smart kid moment but to the extreme?
