Been awhile since I've found not only myself shambling down smut alley, but also finding something honestly new and shiny, in as much as it has the same ol' rough edges that defined many a previous diamond in the rough.
Whether that's due to where the version number sits or just the dev's own style is yet to be seen. What I do know is that there are some biases you should know before getting into this review. I've played hundreds of hrpg's, most of them being corruption based and most of them being God awful. So expect some rose tint on finding some fuckin' good lewds for once.
As for vets out there that have probably played a similar amount and have just gone through all the good stuff, you already know there's only so much you can do with the formula and it legitimately takes about five years for a real slam-dunk to release and shake up the entire genre, if ever. This is not one of them, but that doesn't mean it's bad. I think it boils down to the focus, and whether the focus is engaging. I think it truly is, and with my rose tinted spectacles we'll see if it's worth your time.
Anywho, onto the review.
Happy End for Sorceress is really your classic story but with a nice twist, typical anime-esque fantasy setting where the Demon Lord is defeated, the great Hero Band of olde disbands and now their arch sorceress, the most powerful of the land is left to wonder What do I do now?
Not much, and that leads her to drinking through her retirement (who wouldn't?), yet after meandering through life she suddenly finds out the captain of the guard, a dear friend of hers before taking up her auspicious adventure, is suddenly a mega-sloot. This of course pushes her to find out, and make choices on figuring not only why this is happening, but how to put an end to it...or, perhaps even join it?
If that tantalizes you, that's the reason why it tantalized me. This game levels choices at you that I think a lot of corruption rpg's lack. For most corruption rpg's you will passively attain slootery throughout the game, unlock sidequests that cater to that, and somehow despite banging the whole town, end up being the chosen one on still defeating the very thing you enjoy.
This game twists things into a more digestible manner, as the thing I like about this game is that it truly delves into (porn-logic mind you) choices on whether the big bad really is the big bad. As it leads on the age old question of I'm retired, a supervirgin and my whole life has been spent fighting the arch enemy, why not...cut loose a little bit?
That's the main tenet of not only the game, but even the main character is where she can stop at any point, absolutely demolish everything, and slaughter the entire conspiracy if she wants to (she's immune to hypnotizing silliness)...but the choices you can make pretty much rationalize her into not wanting to give up actual pleasure in her life for once. Which with said writing actually leads to better rationalized corruption rather than cookie-cutter reasonings.
And I think that's the best thing going for this game, it feels like the Sorceress is trying at every point to rationalize what she's doing, whether it's right or wrong, and even accepting at points that yes, she does want to be a sloot.
It's a very hot premise, and it balances itself between whether she wants to be a dom or sub for the most part or if you just want a more clean-cut fuck it option,

 Aside from that silliness, I think both paths are pretty fleshed out in balancing each other and I only wonder if the dev will have some sort of middle ground for players that swing both sides. As one thing I'm already seeing is that the more you lean one way, the more that locks out the other (potentially). So I won't say it's a bad thing, more so a choice in what you want your sorceress to be.
And another thing too is that, it does have some shamblings that veteran hrpg enjoyers may or may not find distasteful. I thought it was rather well-paced but I can see where it can also be seen lewds coming too fast. For spoilers;

 Tl;dr version, it goes a little fast on prude to lewd but I think there's good enough writing to explain why.
And with that, I think the only thing lacking in this game is just how short it is due to it being relatively early. There's still a good amount of story and lewd to keep you engaged and even some memorable scenes, and I think with each new version it does truly keep getting better. Another thing that could be a damper is the visuals. I think however, visuals on a successful trajectory can always be reworked, it's whether there was substance to begin with that matters. And there's heaps here where I think the dev truly wants to make a corruption rpg that not only makes sense but is also just fun with how the sorceress is characterized.
That's why I think I'm going to give this a 5/5--so long as it continues crunching through and contrasting against so many hrpg's that steer away from a protag that actually thinks. As I feel that what this game does right is create that beautiful MC that feels out a story where they wanted this but have yet to embrace that part of themselves while still acknowledging that this is all, so beautifully wrong.
I wish the dev luck along the way and for this not to crash and burn on some arbitrary version number
. 5/5, please more true wtf am i doing debauchery.
