It wouldn't surprise me if the rat was the one thing doggy definitely wanted to put in, but threw out a vote for others he didn't really care for so left those to the fans. I was real put off by the dino or the long nose mosquitovamp so the vote wasn't a loss to me. But a literal garbage-smelling rat on top of not just being a "musky" deal? That sounds like a major nope.

so, wait, the test build currently ONLY has Mango scenes in it? and they arent even that great?? at this point im starting to think we wouldve been better off if we had gotten Byte instead... so now our only real saving graces for this update are going to be Mordecai and the Rat, and i'll be the first one to jump the gun and say that the fetish of smelling like actual sewage (not just heavy musk, like a lot of earlier enemies, ACTUAL SEWAGE) is going to detract a lot from whatever enjoyment i can get from her, much akin to the Daisy scenes. however, i DO have high hopes for Mordecai, considering he seems almost exactly what i was hoping for with some earlier scenes that arent really elaborated on.

I would have to play for myself and make a little more """comprehensive""" review (lets be real, none of what I say makes sense anyway ;P), but as for now, I share the sentiment of: What the Fuck took so God Damn Long? its obvious the amount of content added wasn't so overwhelming that it was too much for Doggie to handle, so what gives? personally, I think an explanation could be that the Rat was quite literally, a scapegoat shoe-in to try to both explain why the update was taking so long, but also cover their ass and give them just a little more time, and judging how we went from "just started on the Rat" to "both Rat scenes are done" in the span of a few days, I HIGHLY doubt all that time prior was spent purely to deliver us a garbage-scented rodent.
What really confuses me the most is that the running narrative we had a week ago was that the test build was being distributed to "bug test"...but how can we even test for bugs when nothing except Mango is accessible? I can vouch for wanting to do an "inner circle" preview build to crowd-source bug tests and general opinions on the content, and I can even get behind a paywall specifically for preview builds, but this REEKS of "Oh shit I forgot I was supposed to actually release content at some point, I'll give them a morsel to keep people from unsubbing".

Fun fact: apparently the Daycare got some updates to its background textures, for no reason whatsoever. And before someone LEAPS to Doggie's defense as usual, no, it's not a "Bonus", it's literally wasted time that they could have spent adding something new to the game, but instead are so cock-sure their game is great that they're polishing areas before they even have a functioning gallery (which has been a "WIP" for oh...two years now?). Any actual devs would balk at the idea of spending time polishing existing content when they can't even decide on which area they want to add things to, none of them are complete, and of the three new areas added in the last 3 builds (Barn, Jessie's Playhouse, and the Sewer), one has a single accessible area and enemy, one increasingly seems like it could've just been a part of the Daycare (why isn't Jessie's Playhouse just part of the Daycare, Jessie is IN THE DAYCARE), and the newest, the Sewer, will probably exist just for the Rat and then be quietly abandoned for about a year or more. 1694035293191.png

How dare you, I was the one who started complaining about the rat smelling like rotten shit first! Jokes aside, yeah, that's essentially my feelings as well. The amount, quality and nature of the content is just isn't worth waiting 7 months for.
I'm kinda surprised Doggie didn't go for the easy "Musky Rat" joke with these sewer rats.

Let's not forget one thing that has been critically lacking, the elephant of the room that kittymaid likes to ignore or downplay.

The Plot

So what is the plot of the game? And don't tell me it's irrelevant. 2+ paragraphed profiles for enemies, characters and others. Even the stages are given a description before entering the stage. You would have to think that DoggieBones is retarded for adding these if plot doesn't matter.

The story is far from half-complete if not hollow, and the closest thing we have is this: the 2 heroes are wanted targets by Trinity. The first official stage is the lab, and I don't see what is accomplished. It's not like we did much by completing the stage. A few creatures in concussion for sure, and maybe knocking out the queen bee assassin, but it's not like Trinity is unable to replace the losses. Next we have the spirit garden. The description implies we must "settle the spirits Trinity disturbed", yet it appears she hinges her entire plan on a plant that is even there without putting some rituals first. Not sure why Trinity left the plant at the garden instead of bringing it to the lab or somewhere more secure since there's no official explanation.

So why does this matter? Well, I ask you this: why should one complete a stage? It's not like you're getting any gallery rewards for doing so, and just losing to enemies is pretty easy to do to get the scenes.

There is supposedly a gallery in the works and, I could be wrong, but I remember reading in one of the comments that the gallery is part of this upcoming update. Not justifying the lack of plot just responding to one the points you made that I believe I can answer

Presumably the plot kinda boils down to 'Trinity is causing shit' and 'Trinity put a hit on your ass (Literally)'

Lab? Trinity fucked with everything from the bees to the bee ladies.

Nippon Gardens? Hits on you and she screwed with that plant in the end.

Jessies? Well it wasn't really ethical or safe in the first place but I presume Trinity had a hand in screwing with something there. Probably Mango.

Something something, the world is probably in horny anarchy because the robot lady tipped the scale and it's up to you two goons to get in there and punt some creatures until by which you have put all the horny fires out and can kick the horny arsonist herself in the face.

Least, that's my understanding of it- it's a bit more Porn than Plot but tbh HHHell was quite literally a horny boarding school from hell so the world seems a bit screwy in the first place.

If just guessing the timeframe from the word of the dev himself is psuedo-science, then may everyone who asked for the release date of video games in general be so as well. And those who does so for movies as well. Fuck it, The Critical Drinker is a pseudo-scientist for just relaying what Marvel has posted for .

And pray tell, what statement of mine on this thread was pseudo-science that is specifically related to the release date?
And it has to be pseudo-science, not sarcasm.

Except I did (and I've mentioned it before on this thread), and I certainly am beginning to regret keeping my pledge, even if it is a dollar a month. This isn't even the first time I've donated to a game I follow on F95. And I've checked your history post, and I'm fairly certain you've never heard of them.

I'm beginning to think you are extremely disingenuous and dishonest in your conduct. You're more looking for cheap gotcha moments and "win debate at all cost" than being reassuring from how you have been behaving here in the over 50+ pages to build 20. So, I want you to seriously answer the two underlined with a straight face. I honestly see what MortimerScharf was rambling about, unless you can answer these two sincerely to me.
Just look at your reaction, it says it all lol

KittyMaid is essentially Jeremy from Smiling Friends: a being programmed to say and do the same shit over and over again, while being our only form of hellish "entertainment" in this limbo of waiting for updates.

The rat stuff is really genuinely bizarre because even in the furry community with pretty extreme kinks, this just isn't popular. Like, this character would have literally never, ever made it through a poll.

I have defended doggie a fair bit but this is in general a really bad sign for the project as a whole. Spending 7 months only to miss a deadline is a superbly bad look and then adding something that probably single digit % people will ever willing see the scenes of is just really weird, almost tone deaf behavior.

Like I've been on the discord for two years and in that time I've really never, ever seen someone ask for a scene like this. This is for an audience of one, the Creator. And it's not a good sign that we're adding content that very few people want while there's very real questions on the table about the game having pretty extreme scope creep and becoming increasingly super niche content.

The disparity in effort between Whispy scenes being much higher effort than Sam is also becoming a problem!
