That isn't quite right.
They make 2.4K a month from Patreon, which is the non-ABDL version of the game. The full version with controversial content is hosted over on SubscribeStar and that's an additional 2k a month, so it's much closer to $52,000 a year. That's also just the people who stick around to contribute to the totals listed on both websites. In my experience, somewhere around 30% of income is people who pledge, grab stuff, and leave immediately, so it's probably a decent bit more than it appears.
And that's without updating their game or communicating any new content for almost a year.
I can totally empathise that game dev is hard, and that sometimes maintaining communication with your audience is difficult... but like, damn.

I feel like people would care a lot less about infrequent updates if Doggie Bones had smaller things made to tide people over, something like art pieces or simple animations, even just some posts about what they'd like to add in future updates or allow the people supporting him to vote on what content they'd like to see next.
^ doggie doesn't need help from the previous updates we seen, they made huge updates and such before and even shown HUGE progress only to give us just one enemy we promised so much by doggie only for them to scrap all of that or delay it so many of their progress up and disappears in favor for the ABDL updates to the daycare stage it has gotten newer art newer stuff and even more attention then the other stages. we seen the effort they could do they barely need any help

This is the thing, he doesn't even do the bare minimum content feed trickle that other scam games do. Like there are games that haven't had releases in years still making money because the creator at least posts an animation or some commissioned art, or anything.
Doggie is genuinely unique in that he basically refuses to ever actually communicate with his fans. I mean that, he has not had a public back and forth conversation on his discord in years, never responds to people and when he does talk he uses middlemen or proxies.
It's some like genuine mental illness shit. Either he's so deeply paranoid or anxious he cannot have a five minute talk publicly or he hates his community so much that he isn't actually willing to interface with them. It's why their numbers have constantly decreased, they aren't actually particularly good at being an h game scam
And yet, he's raking in moolah hand over fist with essentially no fucking effort made... I guess those furries really are a desperate bunch to bankroll a game like this while expecting (literally just) shit in return, huh?
...And that is coming from a guy who's a quasi-furry himself, mind you, so I (basically) know what I am talking about on that point!

I was a bit too kind when I said one enemy and a stage in 6 months before, since it's closer to 80% of one ennemy and a stage in 6 months.
If they are 80% through as of right this moment, and they proceed working at their current rate, the next update will drop on approximately the 22nd of may.

They are, hilariously, in schedule at least. It certainly wouldn't be an HHP ™ update without a combat rework or an entirely new stage added on top of the 5 other incomplete stages we have. If it were possible for AI to recreate the stuff Doggie makes, I wouldn't even blame them if they just started resorting to using AI if it accelerated their update schedule. There are extremes of "piss poor quality" at a fast rate and "amazing quality" at a molasses slow pace, and I wouldn't be opposed to a happy middleground.

Its been like 6 years...? What's the point of this game? Its never being finished. I've literally had my life fall apart, and rebuilt it in that time- and the game feels no different at all from where we started? Work on a different project already. If this next update really comes out, I hardly expect a followup before this game is canned.
You cannot deny his updates are incredibly inconsistent at best and his communications are pretty awful. Has the long intervals exacerbated the communication problems? Partially so. However it's clear that, given the track record shown in the previous 100 pages, it's not doing favors. Add into the fact that his economic position is the exception and not the rule, and you pretty much have people even more critical since you're playing with a lot of people's money. That is why people are mad about the several diaper updates, not because of the content itself but rather the large amount of time invested in it compared to his non-ABDL content.
And I say this as someone who follows both this and FOXXX.
